Once I got a layout I was happy with on Day 1, I've stuck with my island. After putting so much work into it, I couldn't imagine scrapping it all and starting over. I want to keep evolving Deilf Isle and see just what I can make of it.

I have reset twice. The first time was because I really wanted apples and a secret beach on the far left or right of my island so I could open everything up and not need to use any stairs for it. After staying with that island for months, I reset a week ago because I just could not make that beach placement work. I also wanted a different fruit (I picked cherries for the cute pink drink). I am so happy with my decision. Of course, I let myself start on the day I got the game (release day for me) and I'm time traveling day by day back up to the present time.

I am playing really, really slow this time around. I only spend about 15-20 minutes each day. I still have Tim Nook announcing things (and he gets boring really fast. We should be lucky we have Isabelle announcing things). I just got Nook's Cranny and the museum upgraded and I am about three days into Nature Day. I'm not grinding for any DIYs, but I am cataloging a lot of furniture I left on my husband's island. I am island hopping only once a day until I find Sherb, Megan, and Audie to fill in the first three plots. If it takes until the present day to find those exact villagers for the plots and I end up missing all the holidays in between, I'm fine with that because that means I get to enjoy them this upcoming year once I catch up. I am enjoying the game even more now because I'm basically mimicking how I would have played if it wasn't for the pandemic.

Went with the first map it gave me on March 19, 2020. I wasn't about to tempt AC karma by not taking what it offered. Unfortunately, that meant a blue airport and native pears. I got my two south river exits, though!

I haven't reset but I've been tempted to numerous times. I wanted to experience choosing a new map again and the first couple of weeks where everything is a blank canvas and being built up. Of course there are things I'd do differently to make things easier, but I don't think it'd be worth losing all my villagers and the progress I've made. I had the same town in NL for years and had made so much progress until I decided to restart and I ended up regretting that decision because I was never happy with a map after that. I'd work on it for a few months then reset again. I'm worried that would happen with this game too so at the moment I don't intend on ever resetting, but I guess you never know.

No I have not reset my island, but I have flattened most of it out before! I was very tempted to reset once back in May 2020 but decided not to since I didn't want to lose my catalogue, encyclopedia, villagers, and other progress.

Only once after playing my original island for a week. For me, it was worth it to get a better RS placement and larger rock ledges and peninsula. Most everything else you can change anyway.

Too many, but for real, between 5 and 10 times. Actually, I reset a lot the beginning of the game to have a nice map, a nice airport color, and before, I was thinking about my first fruit and villagers as well (but their final house is... not that good so I don't want to keep them forever so...) but I'm actually crazy and looking for stupid little details: my first yetiti is not perfect? Let's reset. Oh, in my souvenir, Gulliver appears during the second day of the island, but he's not here... let's reset. I'm not sure I talked enough to my villagers during the first day? Let's reset. Crazy, I said.

These last days, I was in this mood. I hope this time is the good one! But I have the game since day one, and I resetted a lot as well. Waiting for an update, not satisfied by my villagers, the name of my island, or even one day I feel too stressed because I put too much pressure on my shoulders wanting to follow a theme... not good.

Twice after a few months apart of feeling like my island wasn't good enough due to looking at other islands on social media, I don't recommend it at all.

I learned to just take the game at my own pace, you'll enjoy the game more than way I believe

I never reset my island (okay, I did do an immediate reset because I got the neon purple kangaroo as my starter uchi, but that doesn’t count for the purposes of this thread). I have all regular diys learned, all but two sea creatures and 10 paintings in my museum, and a lot of sets cataloged. I have all of my dream villagers, the airport color I wanted, native cherries (for the cute drink), and a layout I’m happy with. I have no reason to do a hard reset at this point! c:

Once.

Three days after buying the game.

I sometimes really regret starting again.

Why would I destroy my own creation? It's like stabbing myself with a knife.

Never. At least not on NH, because I went into it assuming I'd be able to change everything, since it was so heavily terraforming-focused. Still, happy I got my blue airport, and I don't really think I would reset even if I knew then what I knew now. I like working with what the game deals me.

I did reset NL a few times though.

I have never reset on either island yet. I'm more apt to just bulldoze areas and rebuild rather than to reset the whole thing. There would be too many items to lose and villagers I'd miss if I reset. It's never really been an option for me.

i got my game on release date but i've reset too many times to count. i'm even thinking about doing it all over again since i messed up the rivers. the only thing thats stopping me is that i put so much effort into my island's neighborhood and spent so much bells on my house.

A grand total of zero, I wouldn't like to reset, it would feel like I've thrown away a lot of work! So if I was to start again I'd lack the motivation to do it all again (unless I had two islands!)

It would be a nightmare for me to reset my island. It would be tough process getting back to where I am now. All the DIYs I would have to relearn, all the furniture I would have to recollect, all the dreamies I would have to find again...too much frivolous work honestly. Also, I've made a lot of memories with my island, so no, never going to happen.

3 times: the first time in September, I had my previous Island since release and in September I wasn't playing that much, I've had lost my motivation. I was also very into looking at other Islands on social media, and it wasn't a good idea. I reset and at first I was happy about it, but I regret now as I lost all my achievements and I'm missing my first villagers. I wanted to have a nice Island to "show" but I realize it doesn't feel like "me", so I reset again few days ago. I chose a very simple map which I'm so happy about, I'm feeling really good with this new one, I like my new villagers, I play only for me, enjoying the game with a simple Island, so I hope I won't reset again soon!

I had my first island from March until June, when I flattened everything. I didn’t like how I had to build everything back up especially because I didn’t have a plan, so I reset. I’ve had this island now since I reset in June. I’ve completely redone it once and then I just recently flattened in out (with a plan this time), so I’m rebuilding. So actual resets 1, flattened 2, completely redone 1

I reset about 4 times since March. I vowed to not reset again. Instead of resetting, I do island revamping now, changing things around on my island instead of resetting it. Giving it a new look without losing all my progress.

I had flattened my island but then I didn't know how to rebuild it so I reset it in July and have had my current island ever since :)
