How many villagers are you guys going to "cheat" in?

So yes, amiibo cards aren't actually cheating, but a lot of the community is against having them move in since it is almost too easy. Some of the charm of animal crossing is to have some ugly villagers, and get blessed by some cute ones too ... randomly. I have a bunch of RV cards and some of the characters I want to scan in are ketchup, ellie, dobie and plucky (maybe norma too). But do you think this takes away from the game? How many cards will you guys scan in? And please tell me your opinion on this and which villagers you will/might scan in ^.^!

Lol I've spent enough on this game for now. It's all just crossed fingers and hoping to run into them on Dodo tours.

0.. I would scan in Étoile and Marty though if Sanrio cards worked. Otherwise, I'd rather get the villagers by surprise move ins, camp site, or trading for them like I did in New Leaf. It was part of the fun for me. Working hard to get them and then being excited when they move in!!

All 10 of my villagers will be moved in this way: Molly, Merengue, Mott, Jeremiah, Rizzo, Rodney, Stitches, Tutu, Tammi, and Cyrano. I've got all the Amiibo cards ready and waiting.

I don't have any amiibo cards, and personally I don't think I would use them even if I had any. As you said, theres something about the charm of having unwanted villagers, haha. Of course I would die to get Derwin for example, but I wouldn't feel like I earned him if I used amiibo to get him. (This only goes for me tho)

I'm only scanning Chief (he's been the only constant in my towns throughout the games from the Gamecube) but that's about it until maybe a year of playing!~

To answer your questions: I think it definitely can take away from the game—it did for me in NL—but I will still do it with some restrictions.

I've made myself some hard limits, like only scanning in a small number of villagers and getting the others "naturally", as well as spacing the individual scans out by weeks or even months. Those restrictions should be enough of a compromise between getting some favorites quickly but preserving the fun of waiting for others (or meeting new villagers I hadn't considered!)

As for who I'll scan in...I don't know for sure since I have so many favorites and want to balance them with the other villagers I have (different species, personalities etc.)

i would "cheat" in all of them if i could, but till later in the game when i'm ready to start house placements and stuff like that, so till after i get everything and get my whole landscaping permits and whatnot. hoping the process to get a villager to move out it simple LMAO because it would be a pain to have 10 max villagers and then have to wait for one by one to leave to summon in your dreamies to ask to stay TAT

I agree with this. I will be trying to get Goldie but I'm not going to buy an amiibo card for her. For me personally, I'd rather have the accomplishment of getting her randomly through playtime, especially since I never got her in New Leaf.

I'll definitely be using Amiibo cards to get my dreamies. However I will wait until mid-late game to do it which gives me time to bond with any villagers on my island and see if I keep them or not

Filling my towns with amiibos is kinda what killed the fun in New Leaf for me, so I'm only going to add in four of my top favorite villagers. The rest I want to be random so I can find new favorites and get the other villagers I like the "fair" way.

The villagers I'm going to add in are Marshal, Daisy, Genji, and Kabuki. It works well since they each have different personalities.

Oh another thing! At first I didn't want to scan in any, but then I realized that I'd really like to experience some of the new dialogue with villagers I love. It'd be sad for me if by the time I had a favorite on my Island, I'd already gotten tired of chatting with them.

One, it will be the first time ever I will use the amiibo feature. I was telling my roommate how I’ll miss Dizzy then they surprise me with a Dizzy amiibo card . I think having few from amiibo is fine but having whole town permanently is little much for me. I think it is part the charm having some villager move in and out. In the end people should what makes them happy.

All if I need to. I spent money on the cards for a reason lol. So, nah, I don't have any issue with it and, no, I don't think it takes away from the game. It's my game, as long as I'm enjoying it then it's good. Same for anyone else.

I've never tried amiibo - I've always just had random villagers move in and be excited when some cute ones come by, I do feel like that's part of the fun and animal crossing charm *for me*! However, this time I'm going to get amiibo cards for Blanche and Zucker (maybe will play for a while before settling down and scanning them in)!

Yea fosho! I got my rv cards from target and walmart like 2-3 years ago in the packs so luckily I didnt have to spend 10$ for 1 character like some do! But finding new/orginal characters in camp or island will be super exciting!!
