Is anyone keeping/transferring their New leaf town name to New Horizons

I wouldn't reuse a name of a town I currently have but I did consider a few names from my "unused new leaf names" and "failed new leaf towns" list. I ended up making a new one though.

kiwi island would be super cute!! i’m not reusing any of my new leaf town names as they were honestly terrible lmao

New names for new horizons!

Leaving my old home, Koudelka, behind for that sweet and seductive Island Getaway package to Sanctum. My own private refuge and escape for me to mold as I see fit.

As one of the many who panicked named their town Hyrule, no.

Yes, my town name in New Leaf was Juniper so I'm keeping the name going.

My New Leaf town was called Forest. But now I have a nine character name, which is finally possible :D

Nope. My ACNL towns are called Hanamura and Albtraum.

Hanamura (JP: 'flower village') was selected based on an Asian music phase I was stuck in 2006-2014. I was big into artists like Ayumi Hamasaki, KAT-TUN, and morning musume around the time of the game's release so it seemed like a good choice. Overwatch later releasing with the same name for one of their stages (and me playing the game) was just coincidence! I feel like using this name now would look like a reference when it isn't meant to be one. I also feel it is a bit outdated and isn't really representative of who "I" am now.

Albtraum (DE: 'nightmare') was selected because of my on-going involvement in Germany's goth scene since 2017. I travel there frequently to attend gigs (naturally I'm cancelling my Apr/May plans due to COVID-19 because they've closed their borders) and love the music and language. I have the words, Lebe deinen Traum (DE: 'live your dream'), tattooed on my arm as an ode to my love of Blutengel. Albtraum just seemed like a natural name choice based on that. If I were to use one of these two names again, it would most certainly be Albtraum. I don't like to repeat names though.

I will be going with either Vylbrand or The Viles for ACNH. Vylbrand will probably look better in dialogue in-game, but I'll probably refer to it as The Viles when talking about it.

I still love the name i chose for my town in NL, but i came across better names that i would like to use. I m also planning on making my new island different from my NL town so i figured it would be appoprite to give it its own distinct name.

Kiwi is such a cute name, though, and it is perfect for an island!!!

i still don’t know what i’ll be naming my island, but i still have a few more days to think about it. i feel like i’ll give up once i get the game and choose the same name as one of my NL towns

I never keep my old town names.
Each game for me is something new , so they need new names.

In wild world it was Acorn, new leaf was Bluebell and Achrome. New horizons I decided on Malencolia.

I've used the same town name in every Animal Crossing I've had, but I'm going to be changing it this time around! Mostly because in my head, this isn't going to be a town, it's going to be an Island! I figured I'd start fresh with a new name rather than keep the old one since the settings are going to be different.

Yep! My new leaf town name is Utopia, and I’m planning to name my island that as well. :)

I was originally going to, but I decided not to. I wanted to start with something new, something fresh.

Nah, my NL town name was something I made up on the spot. I ended up not liking it very much :p

Still not really sure what I'd name my island though, either Lunatea, Lutetia, or Luiera!

My partner is using same name as NL.
I wanted use same name for NH initially but Canary islands(went there once for holiday and it is beautiful place) is actually exists in Spain so I will not use same name as NL :)

I thought about it because my New Leaf town name is probably the coolest of all my towns, but I want New Horizons to feel like a new chapter.

Nope, though I am going with a similar theme of naming it in Latin. (Elysium)
