I was seriously expecting this to be a character from the Legend of Zelda or some other fandom I don't know well
It's a Mario enemy....

I started with all the possible characters you could see bits of (wario, etc), tried a ton. Finally went back, read the red, yellow, green part so then just ignored all the purple mess... Remembered a mario enemy is usually included in a mirror, tried wiggler, angry wiggler, then just googled mario enemies, found this image, thought welp, close enough!

It was a heckuva surprise when it went thru!

Aaah retro sprites you never fail to be obscure. Even when I squint, the mirror fails to show your true reflection. Thank you! @Mistreil for explaining the hints! (and for even providing any hints in the first place!)

But please....give us maths instead next time.

The longer I stared at this deflated fish the more I related to it.

the mirror might've been made by laudine, but mistreil was the one who let it through. so she gets full blame here, by my standards

Yeah I never would have gotten that, I can’t even see them in the picture, I was seeing completely different stuff eyes that weren’t there and what looked like an animal breathing fire. I’m not beating myself up, well done to those who got it!

I did guess Cheep Cheep at one point!

i mustve done something completely wrong bc when i tried to read the music, the first three notes sounded like zeldas song of healing (to my musically incompetent self) and so i fixated onto that

I actually tried to hum it without any musical knowledge and figured out that it's probably the Super Mario tone. I also figured out that the character would probably throw rocks or something. However, I have never heard of this enemy... I'll take figuring the song out as a win...

Also, that mirror is beyond unfair...

The fact that I have not once tried to look at the red things in the middle but rather the background... wow. I would've litterally never guessed that omg
I did manage to pinpoint the music being mario but I was more focused on trying every character from recent entries of the franchise.

bug enemy, bee enemy with a visor, and sad/stressed shark/fish enemy. also the little skull looking thing near the bottom left.

I almost tried inputting charging chuck but was tired of everything being nope. So I just moved on.
I feel like the description of different states is unfair. I was thinking of forms such as Cappy being used because that would be Mario in different states. Not a character in action, or being speedy like how charging chuck actually is...

Chargin' who? I have never heard of this character. That actually makes me feel better because I now know it wasn't a case of me knowing the character but just not getting it. I would never have guessed Chargin' Chuck no matter how long I tried. I was thinking it was a Pokemon and its evolutions due to the hint about different states.

I think we've all learned not to get on @Laudine's or @Mistreil's bad sides. If this is what they're capable of when they're in good moods I don't want to see the horrors they're capable of if in bad moods.

I'm seriously afraid to see what the last Monolith holds.
