Mysteries of the Monolith - Ended!

Oh yeah, the mirror and the hints (character in different states, reds, yellows) obviously pointed towards Falinks...

This was what I was fixated on basically the entire time. "Green mohawk, big eyebrows."

Can we get a progress pic of the solution turning into the mirror pls because even with the solution posted, I still can't see chuck anywhere.

okay I am so glad I didn't go through trying to find out what song the hint was because I have literally never seen or heard of that character in my entire life

Also, top left image in the mirror looks like Isabelle and it was frustrating that it wasn't her!

The whole time I was watching people struggling with the music hint and dying to share this, but I didn't dare.

Maybe it would have helped some of you. Maybe not.

I still can't see Chargin' Chuck in that mirror.
I actually did do that lol! That wasn't the method of music that solved it for me though, but it helped.

I too did not even consider the red bits to be the character lol just thought it was static hiding them from view. I got an app and struggled to put in what I thought was the notes (after skimming the "how to read music for dummies" website🥲) and I got about 9 in and was like "wait I know this!" But I confused it for smb3 at first but when I listened to the theme I realized what it actually was. Then I just Googled the wiki and put in every character I hadn't already tried. Thank goodness chargin chuck starts with c😆

I am so glad I spent no longer than 10 minutes trying to solve this mirror... I would've probably gone clinically insane if I did any more time

I took the I Spy days for granted...

-Only 2 tickets for something near impossible.
-‘Hint’ was another puzzle.
-Even after people solved it they still couldn’t see anything in the mirror.

I say this with all due respect. Please never, ever do this again.

Aaaaaand I didn't guess him becauses hes orange not yellow! 😅

I need to remember to guess everyone more

I guess I can post my progress now. In some ways I was so close, and yet still so far away.

I saw the three separate shapes and took the hint of different states to mean a trio of Pokemon evolutions. The first shape I saw looked like an ice cream cone, so I tried the Vanillite line. I tried each one individually and all three together. When I finally convinced myself that wasn't the answer, I latched onto what I thought was a face. Two black dots for eyes and a simple curved line for a mouth. A very common Pokemon face. I went through a list of every single Pokemon and entered all the ones with that type of face including their evolutions. Going back to the image again, I thought I saw the head of an insect, particularly a bee, and wings so I refocused my guesses on those types of Pokemon.

When I had exhausted Pokemon, I went back to reread the clues. This time I focused on the colors and started to think that different states meant different stances, like how some of the Mario enemies can pop into their shell and things like that. So I searched for green, yellow, and/or red characters that had various battle positions. Sadly, Chargin' Chuck never came up in any of my searches. I've never seen or heard of this character in my life.

Finally, when I was just about to give up hope, I reread everything again after the final hint was posted. I didn't even try to decode the music because, even if I did succeed, I have terrible song recognition anyway. But I did change my thought process on the different states yet again. Because of the line at the end where it talks about our own state of confusion I thought maybe it meant emotional states. Looking at the image one more time, I thought I could see something that looked like the lightbulb reaction in Animal Crossing. Dr. Shrunk gave reactions in New Leaf, so I started there and guessed almost every special character, especially every green, yellow, or red character.

That's when I called it quits. So ends the story of my long and painful journey of failure. LOL

My first guess was Falinks, and then I was pretty sure it was a Pokey. When that wasn't it, I was absolutely convinced it was some sort of Deku Scrub. I would have never guessed Chargin' Chuck!

My god that's exhausting just reading it...

I spent nearly the whole time allotment for the judd mirror just staring and not getting it, with so many other people getting it quickly. Was sooo frustrating. Wednesday's mirror scares me already....

My condolences! Same as you, I was also looking through Pokemon. I thought red green and yellow was a reference to the original japanese gen 1 games and the "states" were referring to pokemon regional forms or three-stage evolutions.

I left that tangent super frustrated because nothing I saw in the image matched pokemon, literally not a single shape. :(

man so looking up the super mario world music led me down a rabbit hole and i learned that it copis a melody from this 60s folk song "green green," which then led me to start trying basically everykirby character as well (since level 1 of kirby's dream world is called green greens, and whispy woods seems to fit the fair's theme). drove me nuts lol i never got it in the end and i still can't see it!
