Old enough to remember...

Did anybody else play these games on the school computers??? My friends are all the same age as me except one who is a couple years younger, but none of them know what I'm talking about because they went to different schools.

Jelly snap bracelets.
Water tubes. Water wigglers? Idr.
The original 150 Pokemon cards.
Trading Pokemon with link cables during recess.
Being a latchkey kid without anyone at all ever seeing why this was a problem.

I know pound puppy plushies exist now still, but they don't really carry the same weight, nor popularity. Nor design.
Original Furbies, and the screaming desire to throw all of your money at them.

I remember taking a picture of my favourite characters and blowing them up as big as I could on Word and then printing them to hang them up on my walls or in my binder for school.

JumpStart 1st Grade.
" Please, please! I want -- a jawbreaker ! "

Or sometimes, with my unfortunate tushy, error - you have entered too much money.

i mean i'm not from america so i don't know a lot of the typical stuff but i do remember window cranks even though i'm still SUPER young. i'm probably one of the youngest on this forum lmao

-Actually hanging up the phone
-Dialling phone numbers without needing to dial the area code first
-Feeling fancy and grown up while using a pen/pencil to dial on a rotary phone
-Clippy
-The sound of the internet connecting and the horror of losing the connection when someone used the phone
-POGS
-Neopets/Habbo Hotel/Club Penguin
-Does Goldfish still do the jingle on their commercials?
-Having to wait for the TV guide channel to scroll back through to the channel you needed because you JUST missed it
-"Be kind, please rewind"
-Slap bracelets
-Red Rover not being banned at recess
-All the clapping games and skiprope songs at recess
-Being a Catholic elementary school kid and wearing regular clothes (my brother made it up until 7th grade and then BAM! uniforms lol)
-Penny/5 cent candies at the convenience stores
-That AMAZING Flintstone pushpop ice cream
-Mcdonalds pizza ♡
-Biker Mice from Mars/Street Sharks/Mummies Alive/Reboot
-The Elephant Show/Lamp Chop's Play-Along/Mr. Dressup/Mr. Rogers/Pappyland
-Martin Yan's Chinatown and Chef Pasquale were my chef idols as a kid
-People being so unaccustomed to long films that the theatre had an intermission during screenings of Titanic.
-Titanic being so long that it was split into TWO (!!!) vhs tapes
-My dad letting me stay up on December 31, 1999 until midnight for the first time to celebrate new years because the world was supposed to end in Y2K

I can't believe I was able to remember this all omg

Omgosh, my youngest sister (she's 10) saw the window crank in an older car and had NO idea what it was for. I was shocked. I don't think she'd have the arm strength for the constant up and down haha

This thing. I remember I used to have one and I think I only had the song one thousand miles

Those things were SO popular for something that only plays a few seconds of the song lol. That was the reason mu parents wouldn't get me one because they thought it was such a waste of money. I was so devastated Haha

On the subject of Disneyland, I already mentioned Rocket Rods, something that only operated from when I was in Kindergarten to when I was in 2nd Grade (which was unfortunately discontinued due to breaking down every day). Not only I remembered this, I rode this ride like four times within my lifetime. And this was back when I lived in Houston (to be fair, I was born in California, but I moved away when I was 4, still go there every once in a while). There were several other extinct attractions I remembered from Disneyland from over the years. Rocket Rods was just one ride nobody from my generation would remember.

Other things I remember about Disneyland that is related to the subject...

- Pirates of the Caribbean before the first movie even came out
- Country Bear Jamboree (now extinct)
- It’s a Small World when it had the pink and blue scheme (and their pastel colored boats)
- Star Tours (the original ride, before it became some randomized CYOA ride)
- The original submarine voyage
- The Lion King tram route (I don’t even know if it still exists)
- California Adventure Park when it first opened up (it was even more California-themed and not as Disney-themed, also didn’t have Bugs land yet). First year I went there was the year it opened.
- When Downtown Disney had Build-a-Bear Workshop (which was the first time I heard about Build-a-Bear, now it doesn’t exist despite appearing on a map)
- The Disneyland Monorail before it had a stop at Downtown Disney
- The sticker collecting activity during the first year California Adventure Park was open

And this list was composed using my personal experience from my visits from my childhood. Although it’s mostly the same now as it was before (unlike several places that drastically changed over the years), Disneyland went under several changes that make it radically different. A while ago, they did have Rocket Rods, now they don’t even have the Twilight Zone ride.

The car I have now (an '09) has crank windows.

I could remember one of the main songs from one of them (Bailey's?) for YEARS. Literally 13 - 15 11 or so years I tried to figure out what it was, I even recreated the part I remembered in a music program to send it around to my friends but nobody recognized it. Then finally I found the games a month or two ago!

*actually quick edit lol. Maybe not 15 full years I tried to figure it out, but I haven't played it since I was about 7 and couldn't remember what it was. Poor wording! It wasn't actually until about 11 or so years ago I kept actively searching for it
