Other places but at least if they make tumblr just nice blogs I wouldn't mind tbh. I used that site maybe 6-7 years ago and it was not even half as bad as it is today.

lol that's almost suprising but i guess they need to do it to deal with the problems ans not being on app store. i can't say i'll miss the porn bots, weirdo ddlg blogs, child porn and creepiness in general. im just there for nice photos and some memes. idk if this will deal with the the softcore child porn with thousands of notes but hopefully theyll kill the pedophiles.

How stupid do you have to be to not recognize your own fan base? A huge majority of people use Tumblr to post and search for NSFW stuff. This is by far the dumbest thing I?ve ever heard. Great job digging your own grave, you useless moderators.

Felt this coming once i heard news of the app being off the app store. This is by far the worst thing to ever happen to the site, and im gonna be using my twitter from now on as well. still gonna be using tumblr if i dont get banned but god damn am i not pissed off at how badly this is being handled. Instead of addressing the issue itself they set the whole place a blaze. Catch me on pillowfort when thats out of paid beta

I just started using tumblr again after taking several years off. I was having fun and then they have to go and commit suicide.
Literally almost everyone I follow is being effected in some capacity. Huge blogs are having their content flagged when it isn?t even remotely nsfw. In some cases their entire blogs are being flagged when they?ve done nothing wrong! Theyre going to lose their blogs on the 17th and the literal years of hard work they?ve put into customizing and curating their content and building a following base who love them and are heartbroken that their blogs will be gone.
Tumblr staff have screwed up BIG TIME. This isn?t even helping the legitimate problem with porn bots and underage kids being abused.
They?ve taken a fire and thrown gas on it in hopes it?ll put out the flames.

I hope Tumblr will just reset their mistake. They deserve it for not paying attention when people were shouting at them about the problem earlier, but I will be so upset if it goes under. That website is my lifeline and the only way I make money (advertising my Etsy shop, nothing to do with NSFW), I feel like it'll turn into a kiddie website and kids don't usually have money to spend on Etsy.

I don't mind NSFW posts and want people to have the freedom to post and share it (and also the flagging of non-sexual LGBT+ posts is very problematic), but I really hate how everyone acts as if that's the only reason anyone would ever use tumblr. Sure, there's no other popular social media that allowed porn this openly and gave sex workers a platform to advertise themselves, but like... why are we ignoring fandom and meme/popular content just to make the opposition look stronger? I think the argument "tumblr is just for porn" really justifies the staff in trying to remove it. The message should be "stop flagging LGBT+ as inappropiate" as well "don't remove freedom from veteran users just because you don't want to moderate the site". Anything else seems tacky.

The issue isnt just "rip muh pron" dude, alot of artists are going to lose business and money because of this. They are legt getting gutted because the damn platform doesn't want to properly fix the main damn issue.
people are losing job opportunities because of this.
Yeah, same. Also if people are using tumblr as their primary source of art something is wrong. But yeah the cesspool of sexuality and politics tumblrs no thanks.
