Thought I'd start this thread because I LOVE tattoos, and I'm in the process of going for total leg/arm coverage right now. I love tattoo culture and history, and think it's all incredibly interesting. While the process (and healing) can sometimes be painful and suck, the end result makes me so happy and I end up feeling a lot more confident in my body.

None of my tattoos have any meaning beyond "I like this thing"- I have a lot of kawaii ones, pop culture ones, even an Animal Crossing one- but I know they do for some people too which is also pretty neat.

Does anybody else have tattoos? What do you have and do you have many? Do you have any planned?

I don't have a tattoo and I never would get one. I hate needles and I'm far too indecisive. I'd be afraid to regret it later or want something else instead.

Honestly there's a big difference between tattoo needles and others, especially because they kind of just scratch rather than anything else.

I've had a bunch of tattoos I've ended up not liking, I've just covered them up with something else or had them blasted with laser to cover up with something else!

I have twenty tattoos so far with another two booked in. The majority of my tattoos are American traditional and most of them feature pin-ups, animals, and plants.

Oh nice!! I love American traditional, my friend has a lot of his tattoos in that style done as prints so he can hang them up! Most of mine come under some form of neotrad, using a lot of bold lines, and almost all of them are animals.

I don't have any tattoos currently, but I'm certainly not opposed to the possibility of getting some in the future, if I get the finances to spare for it. If I were to get any, I'd probably go for something small—most likely some subtle symbols or emblems related to characters who mean a lot to me.

I've been wanting to get one for a while, my sister and I are thinking of getting one each on our bithdays this year (our birthdays are two days apart so we like to do something for both of us on the middle day of our "birthday weekend" )
I was thinking about getting this tattooed on my ankle

I don't have any tattoos, but I enjoy looking at them and hearing the stories behind why people got them if there is a story to tell. They are just another form of art and self-expression that I can appreciate.

I used to think about getting a tattoo back when I was younger, but I was very indecisive so I never ended up settling on something I knew I'd love forever.

I love collecting prints. I have various prints hung up around the house. Here's an Animal Crossing one I own, drawn by Sabstar Tattoo:

i have two. one on the back of my neck is the outline of a crescent moon inspired by sailor moon and my other one is a large floral sidepiece. i chose the flowers based on their meanings. ill probably get more eventually but i havent had any more ideas of what i would want

I have 3, one is in memory of my cat Jack, it’s a black cat sitting in the moon on my shoulder, the other is an owl sitting on a branch over my heart, the other is the words No Day But Today” across my wrists. (It’s from a song in the movie/musical Rent). I definitely want to get more someday, here’s some pics of them

I have 6 tattoos! 3 small miscellaneous ones that I would like to add to. My favourites are my pikachu on my shoulder, a simba (lion king) on my left thigh and Haku (Dragon from spirited away - studio ghibli) on my right thigh.
I’m hoping to add to Haku in the future :)

I don't have any tattoos YET but I def want 2. One being a simple outline moon phase change on my inner upper right arm and a simple outline/lineart of a compass on my lower inner left arm. Both would be black, no colour, not even white (not like it would show up on my skin anyway). I also like how they both match a nautical theme. I've been stuck in these two ideas for prob over a year now but I have yet to get either done. I still really want them but idk about gettin them during a pandemic. Plus I would want to do a bunch of research, since both have absolutely no room for error.

I have 4 currently. Three that are just cool art (air balloon ship, mushrooms, bat face) and one fandom one. They are all on my right leg and take up quite a bit of space. They're all American traditional. None of them have a meaning except that I thought they looked pretty, haha.

I plan on having both legs covered, a back piece, my stomach, and maybe half sleeves. Basically, anywhere that can easily be covered by typical professional clothing, since that's the attire I have to wear to work and not every place in my field is tattoo friendly.

Most of my tattoo ideas are just animals or plants I like, or other fandom ones. I do have two meaningful ones planned, one of my first cat who recently passed away. The other is a tattoo is a beet, which is the only tattoo my grandpa had (got it at a carnival when he was 18, if you're wondering why he's get a beet?). I was super close to him and his tattoo started my love for tattoos, even though he discouraged me from ever getting them before he passed.

I don't have tattoos. Definitely interested in getting one though. Only things holding me back are money and well, making sure I won't regret what I get. If I had had the money to get this one idea tattooed on me 8 years ago, I would have regretted it by now, it was a dumb idea.
But I do love the idea of getting a tattoo, I think they are neat

i don’t have any tattoos atm but i’ve been thinking about getting some for quite a while now. i don’t have any visuals yet, only some general ideas, but i’d be looking at getting 6+ tattoos, each one for a person or thing that’s important to me. ^^

I admire tattoos as an art, as well as people who can commit to getting them. But personally, I wouldn't get inked.

I don't have any personally cause I'm terrified of needles and the sound of the machine makes me really anxious. but I've kinda considered getting one, specifically a small black peace sign either on my inner wrist or my ankle. I wouldn't get any beyond that 😆
