Do you prefer contacts or glasses? Why or why not?
I prefer contacts but I can't wear them anymore because my eyes are too dry and they burn. I wore contacts all through high school and into my 20's before switching back to glasses. Glasses are more convenient in some ways, but they also have a lot of drawbacks. Contacts take longer to put in but I like that you can put them in and forget them.
Are you nearsighted or farsighted?
Very, very nearsighted.
What kind of glasses do you have (round, square, oval, ect.)?
They're rectangular with rounded edges.
Are they plastic or metal?
Plastic.
Why did you choose your particular style of glasses?
I used to wear metal frames exclusively, but playing with my dog, nephews and niece they would often get knocked around. It was easy for the metal frames to become misshapen. So I switched to plastic frames a few years ago. The pair I have now is black on the outside and blue on the inside. I really like them but I've had them for 3 years now so I'll probably pick something new whenever I'm able to get out to see the eye doctor.
Do you need to use your glasses/contacts for everyday activities or just for reading (or for something else)?
I need them for everything. My vision is so bad, the optometrists always get a kick of putting up the huge E and asking me if I can read it. I can't.
