Pokémon The Pokémon Challenge Thread

The Elite Four this run was, unfortunately, not as clean as the last.

Survivors:
Lv 59 Male Linoone named Zigs.
Lv 59 Male Mightyena named Excelsior.
Lv 57 Male Ninjask named Baron.

Dead:
Poison the Female Shroomish.
Orleans the Male Wingull.
Shinobi the Shedninja.
Don the Dustox.
Rambo the Blaziken.
Riptide the Sharpedo.

After breezing through the rest of the gyms, my team was ready for the Elite Four. Victory Road, as a whole, didn't pose much of a threat except a point where Excelsior almost got critical hit by a Kingdra. This, as I will write later, would have been disastrous for this run. Wally was overall a breeze as well, with Zigs sweeping most of his team before Rambo took care of Gallade. The Elite Four against Sidney started brutally, with Don getting critical hit by Absol's Psycho Cut. Death. Rambo, who I was wanting to save for the next matches, came in and swept the rest of his team. Phoebe and Glacia soon followed. Since Excelsior was my only Pokemon that could cover Dragons, he was up to the plate. While Altaria repeatedly Moonblasted him into red (thank goodness no crits), he was able to set up Howl and essentially sweep with Ice Fang.

Against Steven, I was feeling confident. Excelsior set up a bit versus Skarmory and was able to down it. Unfortunately, it was hit with Toxic and I had to retreat. Against Aggron, however, everything started to collapse. Rambo tried to set up as a Mega, and things were going peachy...until I missed my Sky Uppercut. I could survive a single Earthquake, but the miss allowed him to hit a second. Death. Losing Rambo brought about serious doubts for me. His fire attacks were what I had planned to defeat Steven with. Without them, what could I do? Both Zigs and Baron were strong, but they weren't built to fight Steel. It was up to Excelsior, who had survived death numerous times. Since his defenses were fairly decent, I decided to spam double team until practically nothing could touch me. Afterwards, after Howling my attack to max, I proceeded to attack. Aggron survived for a couple full restores due to Sturdy before falling, and one-by-one each of Steven's 'Mons fell to a combo of ice fang and crunch. Victory.

Like last time I will continue until the end of Delta Episode, but this Nuzlocke can be considered a victory. It was Pyrrhic, but a victory nonetheless.

Congrats on completing another challenge! I’ll add it to the first post. And yeah, I can relate to what happened here. In my first Nuzlocke Challenge win last year everyone was alive and doing well until I faced Steven and then only Asta the Linoone and Mimosa the Bellossom survived. A victory is a victory though. :)

Still in the Hau’oli Cemetery on my Ultra Moon Character/Single challenge with Volkner and his partner, Zeraora. I’ll either edit this post once I finish the first grand trial, however, or I’ll make a new post if someone posts here between now and then. Nothing has been difficult at all so far aside from Zeraora not obeying me at times due to its level.

Thank you! It's crazy how quickly a battle can devolve. I'm just glad I was able to eek out the challenge win. I may do a Nuzlocke run on Moon at some point soon. Best of luck with your own current challenge!

Thanks as well!

I just beat the first grand trial and already beat the first trial earlier, and both were a walk in the park. I used Close Combat to take care of Totem Raticate and Alolan Rattata in the first trial, and then Acrobatics to sweep Hala’s team in the grand trial. Volkner and Zeraora are doing fine, and Zeraora has had its HP only go down as far as yellow so far. I’ve saved the game for now and plan on continuing to slowly progress through the game as I have my studies to attend to first and foremost. I imagine Hapu’s grand trial near the end of the game will be the toughest part of the challenge with just Zeraora, so I’m looking forward to getting there.

Because I'm feeling insane, I started a Nuzlocke of Pokemon Renegade Platinum. And because I'm even more insane, I have set a personal rule to only have one starter Pokemon (just the F/W/G ones, I'm not counting Pikachu/Eevee as starters) on my team at a time. Surprisingly, the early game hasn't given me much troubles. But I know that's about to change very soon. I have earned one badge and I am just outside the Valley Windworks.

Current Team (all level 17):
- Sasha the Monferno
- Kaepora the Hoothoot
- Cobalt the Riolu
- Mipha the Horsea
- Thorn the Budew
- Vinny the Rhyhorn

Deaths:
- Adrian the Eevee
- Victoria the Nidoran F

There are moments where I am super tempted to drop the Budew and the Horsea for the Squirtle and Bulbasaur in my PC. But my rule is my rule. Even if it results in my team being comprised of half glass cannons and half baby 'mons. I'm currently game-planning for the first Galactic admin. Her Purugly has given me troubles in the main game; I'm legit scared of what it'll do when it's buffed and the admin's AI is raised. I'm 50/50 between out-bulking it with Vinny or just grinding Sasha up and smacking it with a Brick Break.

Roark was... interesting. I'd never thought of Nosepass as a special attacker until it started spamming Ancient Power and Discharge everywhere and actually doing a bit of damage. Geodude, Onix, and Larvitar all fell stupidly easily to Mipha's Water Pulse. I didn't dare leave her in against the pure rock types, though. Sasha's Mach Punch (she has Iron Fist!) and Brick Break took care of the Bonsly and Cranidos. Overall, he was challenging, but he was still the first gym leader, and most rock types are one-trick ponies that are easy to game plan around. I'm much more concerned about Gardenia because I've heard stories about her Roserade in his version. I'm hoping Cobalt evolves by then so I can have a Monferno, Noctowl, and Lucario as my core because the steel typing would give me a key resistance to grass as well as poison immunity.

Other Notes:
- Barry's Piplup is mean
- The game cheats hard. Cobalt's Force Palm never paralyzes, but if he uses it against a Pokemon with Static, he always gets paralyzed from that. My Water Pulse never confuses, but the opponent uses it and always gets the confusion. Barry's annoying Piplup was still hitting most of its attacks even after I lowered its accuracy to -6. I don't know if I'm just unlucky or if the AI really does get better odds on that stuff. Either way, I wouldn't be surprised.

I failed my Pokemon Black Nuzlocke a while back, but the revival of this thread has inspired me to attempt another challenge. I'm just doing a Nuzlocke of Emerald, nothing too fancy.

Currently sitting in Petalburg Town, arrived at Route 104 and caught a Marril but I'll tackle that route next time I play. Other than that, I started my adventure and grinded a bunch. Maybe next time, I'll even take on the first Gym, but that's assuming grinding for that doesn't take too long.

Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke (0 Badges)
- Poochie the Male Poochyena, Lv. 7
- Wormothy the Female Cascoon, Lv. 7
- Meme the Male Mudkip, Lv. 9

I decided to trade Zeraora back to my Ultra Sun file and deleted my Ultra Moon file because the challenge was getting pretty boring and stale. I started up a new challenge, a Nuzlocke challenge on Pokemon Diamond today, however, and it has been going well so far!

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Monferno (level 16)
Brave the male Starly (level 11)
Brawn the male Geodude (level 11)

Deaths: N/A

Gym badges: 1

The early game was interesting. I managed to somehow get a 6 as my last trainer ID number, so I used the optional rule this time and picked Chimchar (which was also my very first Pokemon years ago when I played Diamond for the first time). Strangely enough, its nature is modest, the same nature as my first Pokemon which is now in my Ultra Sun’s PC box, my level 100 Infernape nicknamed GEN. For that reason I’m going to focus on teaching Blaze mostly special attack moves to take advantage of its nature. I taught it Hidden Power which happens to be a rock type Hidden Power, which is quite useful if I ever need to battle a flying type in the future with Blaze. I leveled up Blaze to level 10 before going to Sandgem Town and progressed through everything else leading up to the first gym pretty quickly. I caught a Starly on route 203 which I nicknamed Brave, and I ended up catching a Geodude in the Oreburgh Mine which I nicknamed Brawn. I think I’ve decided that I’m going to name all of my team members by words that start with the letter “B” and have five letters total for each one this time. Roark was interesting, and also a little difficult compared to the Platinum challenges I’ve attempted. I made it through his Geodude okay, but his Onix kept using Screech on Blaze, so I switched out to Brawn to weather some hits while I healed Blaze, and then switched back to Blaze with Brawn still being pretty healthy. I managed to get a critical hit Mach Punch on Onix then and defeated it. I think Roark’s Cranidos was the most challenging part of the battle as both Roark and I went back and forth between attacking and healing our Pokemon. Eventually I got to use Mach Punch twice in a row without being hit and Blaze won the battle with 15 HP remaining. I then left the gym, visited the Pokemon center and Pokemart again, trained my team a little bit more on route 207, and when I resume my challenge I’ll be heading to Eterna City for my next gym battle. Overall I couldn’t ask for a better start to a challenge, as everything has been going well so far. My top priority right now is to catch three more Pokemon and fill the rest of my team out. I’m looking forward to seeing where this challenge takes me. :)

Update on my Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke. I decided to sit down and make some progress, and I ended up crossing through Route 104 and Petalburg Woods and arrived in Rustboro City. While in Petalburg Woods, I caught a Shroomish which I named Mr. Saturn (ironically enough, it's Female, I didn't realize that when I named it), and Wormothy evolved into a Dustox. I also sat down and did some grinding, and in the midst of it all, I caught a Taillow named Birbo which died, and also a Whismur which I named Akko. I also took on Roxanne and won, although it was pretty easy to do with Meme, which is now a Marshtomp. Now, I gotta go stop a Team Aqua Grunt in Rusturf Tunnel, I believe, so I'll take care of all that and more next time.

Current Pokemon Emerald Party: (1 Badge)
- Akko the Female Whismur, Lv. 7
- Wormothy the Female Dustox, Lv. 11
- Mr. Saturn the Female Shroomish, Lv. 11
- Poochie the Male Poochyena, Lv. 11
- Meme the Male Marshtomp, Lv. 16

Deaths:
- Birbo the Taillow, Lv. 8

I had a fair amount of time to play my Diamond Nuzlocke challenge this weekend while still getting my studying done, so I obtained my second gym badge, and behold, no one has died yet. :)

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Monferno (level 19)
Brave the male Staravia (level 19)
Brawn the male Geodude (level 18)
Bliss the female Buizel (level 17)
Brain the female Meditite (level 15)

Deaths: N/A

Gym badges: 2

I made it back to Jubilife and did everything I could do there now that I have gym badge(s). Then I headed up to Floaroma Town while battling trainers, and eventually made it to the Valley Windworks. Commander Mars of Team Galactic didn’t stand a chance with Brawn pitted against her Zubat and Blaze taking care of her Purugly with some well-timed Mach Punches. I then advanced onto Route 205 and caught a Buizel, which I nicknamed Bliss. I went through Eterna Forest with Cheryl and had the chance to catch a Murkrow in the first double encounter, but SOMEBODY thought it was a good idea to have her Chansey target the Murkrow with Egg Bombs. I got one chance to throw a pokeball, but it broke out and got defeated by Cheryl’s Chansey. I then finally made it to Eterna City and did everything I could there, and then went a bit further into Mt. Coronet and caught a first encounter Meditite, which I nicknamed Brain. Went back to Eterna City and challenged the gym, switching out of and into Brain so she could gain some exp points and level up some. I managed to take care of Gardenia’s Cherubi and Turtwig relatively easy, and despite not being at her Roserade’s level (22), used a combination of Blaze and Brave to beat her Roserade. Blaze got Roserade to become burned from one of his Ember attacks, and Brave finished the job with its Intimidate ability and using Pluck to leave Roserade at low red HP. Gardenia tried to faint Brave with Roserade’s Magical Leaf, but I healed Brave with a super potion and Gardenia ran out of time as Roserade fainted from its burn. When I next resume my challenge I’ll be working on grinding my team possibly in Eterna Forest or elsewhere to take on the Galactic Building in Eterna City. My plan is to use Brave against Commander Jupiter’s Skuntank to lower its attack with Intimidate, and then switch into Brawn to take care of it with some well-timed ground type moves like Magnitude. I won’t have a lot of time to work on the challenge this week, but spring break is coming up, so I’ll have more time then. Looking forward to continuing it. :)

Another update on my Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke - I made a lot of progress this time around. First, I did a bunch of grinding beforehand and made sure all of my Pokemon were at least Level 14, and then I went to Rusturf Tunnel to fight the Team Aqua Grunt that stole Peeko and the Devon Goods. Beat him pretty easily, then made my way back to Rustboro and did all the story stuff I can do there for now, including fighting May, which I won though it was sort of an uphill battle, but no one died which I'm grateful for. After that, I made my way down to Mr. Briney's cottage since there's nothing else I can do on the main island of Hoenn for now. I arrive in Dewford Town, but not before getting a call from my dad (which stops the boat, because Pokemon logic). I get the Old Rod here and I'm able to catch a Magikarp which I nicknamed Undyne. That's probably all the fishing I'll be doing for awhile since all I can catch is either Magikarps or Tentacools, and I already have a Water type in my party and a solid Water type in the PC in case Meme dies. Before taking on the Gym in Dewford, I make sure to make a visit to Granite Cave and I encounter a Geodude. I catch it, and name it Bullwinkle. The Geodude is very low leveled, so I make sure to do some grinding specifically for Geodude and level it up to Level 14 as well. Now, it's time to take on Dewford's Gym. Wormothy very much came in handy here, she had an easy time in most of the fights in this Gym. Brawly was a challenge, but nothing Wormothy couldn't handle. The battle is won with no deaths here either, and now, it's time to revisit Granite Cave once more. So I go to Granite Cave, explore it until I find Steven, and then deliver the letter I got from the president of Devon Corp. to Steven. After that, I go back the way I came, and now there's nothing left on this island, so I can go back to the main island of Hoenn, although this time, I'm off to Slateport instead. I was able to scoot by all the trainers on Route 109, I'll be back next session to fight them. Finally, I go straight through Slateport and make it to Route 110 where I encounter an Electrike. I accidentally KO it, however. But this is where I stop this session.

Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke Team:
- Bullwinkle the Male Geodude, Lv. 16
- Poochie the Male Poochyena, Lv. 14
- Mr. Saturn the Female Shroomish, Lv. 14
- Akko the Female Whismur, Lv. 15
- Meme the Male Marshtomp, Lv. 16
- Wormothy the Female Dustox, Lv. 18

I started a Pok?mon Moon Wonderlocke!

I lost my starter, a Jangmo-o to Hala's crabrawler — I wasn't counting with the z move. I also had my Kadabra die in the dumbest way possible: after finishing Lana's trial I went to Digglet Tunnel, only to find out Olivia blocking it. On my way to the exit I found a digglet which sucker punched my Kadabra :( Thankfully, I got a zubat named Bruce Wayne right after that, which made me happier as I really like Crobat. Right now, my team is:

Honedge, lv. 24
Mimkyu, lv. 24
Gyarados, lv. 22
Croconaw, lv. 20
Roggenrola, lv. 23 I think
Bruce Wayne the zubat, lv. 20

A small update after I got time to do some grinding and faced Team Galactic in the Galactic Building in Eterna City (and because the third gym is still pretty far away and this thread is active lately).

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Monferno (level 20)
Brave the male Staravia (level 20)
Brawn the male Golem (level 25)
Bliss the female Buizel (level 20)
Brain the female Meditite (level 20)

Deaths: N/A

Gym badges: 2

After having obtained my second gym badge, I went back to the places around Eterna City and route 205 I could use cut to obtain some items and berries. I then went into the Old Chateau and had a chance to catch a first encounter Gastly with Brain, but ended up OHKO’ing it with Confusion. I proceeded to continue to train my team until they were all level 20. I then went to the Galactic Building and defeated everyone inside except Commander Jupiter, and returned to the Old Chateau, continuing to grind Gastlys until Brawn reached level 25 and evolved into a Graveler. I had started up a file on Pokemon Pearl using my NN3DSXL and traded Brawn back and forth so that I could have a fully evolved Golem. I then went to face Commander Jupiter. Started the battle by taking out her Zubat with Bliss, and then switched into Brave as she sent out her Skuntank. Intimidate went into effect, and then I switched into Brawn and everything was easy from there. Her first Night Slash only took away 6 health points, and Brawn was able to defeat her Skuntank with two Magnitude attacks. When I next resume my challenge I’ll be going down the cycling road to Hearthome City, and eventually making my way to the third gym in Veilstone City. :)

Another Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke update.

Trainer: Andrew

Current team:
- Akko the female Loudred, Lv. 21
- Ms. Saturn the female Shroomish, Lv. 21
- Wormothy the female Dustox, Lv. 21
- Meme the male Marshtomp, Lv. 22
- Bullwinkle the male Geodude, Lv. 24

Deaths:
- Poochie the male Poochyena, Lv. 15

Gym Badges: 3

So, I did a lot here again as well. Like I said I'd do last time, I took on all the trainers on Route 109. There were less than I expected, but Poochie died here while I was battling one of the trainers. After taking on everyone here, I went back to Slateport and had to deliver the Devon goods to Stern, but he was off at the museum. The museum was filled with Aqua grunts, but I only had to fight 2 of them. Archie appears for a short moment, but he leaves as quickly as he arrives. Now that I've done all I need to do in this city, I can leave for Mauville. I'm able to get a lot of battles and some grinding in before having to fight May on Route 110. I had a bit of trouble against her this time, but no deaths, which is good. She takes off on her bike, and I'm left to explore the rest of this route. I make it to Mauville finally and while there's not a whole lot here aside from the gym, I first make my way to the Pokemon Center before anything else and get my Pokemon healed. I also go off to the bike shop and I get a bike for free, for some reason. After that, I check out Cycling Road and the various routes around me and I'm able to battle a few Pokemon Trainers and even catch an Oddish, which I named Snoop, before making my way back to Mauville. I'm forced to battle Wally before taking on the gym, but I defeat him pretty easily. Now, it's time to take on the gym. Akko evolves during one of the battles, and other than that, a few of my Pokemon gained some levels here. Wattson was a cakewalk. I sent out Bullwinkle and he wiped the floor with Wattson. I got pretty lucky with my Magnitudes, so all of Wattson's Pokemon went down in one hit. I get the third gym badge without much of a struggle, and finally, I can use Rock Smash, so I can travel to the north part of Route 111. I make it to Route 112, battle a couple of the trainers here and catch a Numel, which I name Wednesday. I also went inside Fiery Path and catch a Machop, which I named Kenshiro. But this is where I'll stop for now. Next time, I'll continue and go through Fiery Path, as well as do some other stuff.

I love the nicknames you chose! Good luck with your nuzlocke!

Thank you! I hope you do well on your Wonderlocke as well. :)

(Another) small update on my Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke challenge.

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Monferno (level 26)
Brave the male Staravia (level 26)
Brawn the male Golem (level 26)
Bliss the female Floatzel (level 26)

Deaths: Brain the female Meditite (level 23)

Gym badges: 2

I set out onto the cycling route and explored Wayward Cave. Then I made it to Hearthome City finally and did everything I could do there, including participating in a normal rank toughness contest, which I won using Brawn. I then went south and battled Barry again. Everything went relatively smooth, except his Roselia got a critical hit Mega Drain on Brain and Brain died. Not much I could do to avoid the death since it was a critical hit. I’m not really bummed about it though because Brain was growing slower than the others, would have taken longer to evolve, and I already have a fighting type in the likes of Blaze. I went through the next route and got the next HM, Strength, and then before walking into Solaceon Town, Bliss evolved into a Floatzel. I did everything I could in Solaceon Town and the Solaceon Ruins, so when I next resume my challenge I’ll be continuing on my way to Veilstone City, the site of the third gym badge. :)

Another update on my Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke challenge.

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Monferno (level 30)
Brave the male Staraptor (level 34)
Brawn the male Golem (level 30)
Bliss the female Floatzel (level 31)
Brash the female Girafarig (level 32)

Deaths: Brain the female Meditite (level 23)

Gym badges: 4

I made it all the way to Veilstone City and did everything there besides challenging the gym and fighting Team Galactic just yet. I then went south and ended up getting a first encounter Girafarig at the Valor Lakefront, which I caught and nicknamed Brash because of how difficult it was to catch. I continued onto route 213, explored Pastoria City and got all the items from the Great Marsh, and explored Route 212 and the Trophy Garden, all while battling lots of trainers and strengthening my team. I then returned to Veilstone City, and with the quad trainers’ help and a small bit of grinding, Brave reached level 34 and evolved into a Staraptor. I then challenged Maylene with a game plan in mind and executed it perfectly. I started with Bliss against her Meditite, and took it out with two Aqua Jets. Then I switched into Brash, who was level 30 by this time, and took out her Machoke with one Psybeam. Finally, I switched into Brave against her Lucario and Intimidate went into effect. I took her Lucario out with one Close Combat from Brave. This is officially the furthest I’ve ever made it in a generation four Nuzlocke challenge before. I’ve been trying to catch a sixth member for my team, but I kept getting first encounters of Geodude and Staravia, so dupes clause won’t allow me to catch them. Hoping to find an electric or grass type to round out my team though. I’m having so much fun playing this that I didn’t even realize how late it was. :D Normally I would be exhausted around this time, but I guess a combination of good food and having fun with this challenge has kept me alert and awake. Next up on the challenge is facing Team Galactic in Veilstone City, which should be fun. Then it will be back to Pastoria City and to face Crasher Wake for the fourth gym badge. Looking forward to seeing how far I get on this challenge now. :)

EDIT: I defeated the Team Galactic grunts with Dawn and got the HM for Fly. Then I flew south to Pastoria City and took on the gym. Focused on not using Blaze or Brawn during the battles because they would be at a disadvantage. I then faced Crasher Wake in battle and took out his Gyarados in one hit thanks to a Thunder attack from Brash. He then sent out Floatzel, which I took out in one hit with another Thunder from Brash. I then switched into Bliss to face his Quagsire, and took it out with several Aqua Jets and Crunches to win my fourth gym badge. Now I’ll be facing Barry again soon, Team Galactic, and more on my way to earning the fifth gym badge from Fantina in Hearthome City. :)

A new update on my Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke challenge.

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Infernape (level 36)
Brave the male Staraptor (level 34)
Brawn the male Golem (level 34)
Bliss the female Floatzel (level 34)
Brash the female Girafarig (level 34)

Deaths: Brain the female Meditite (level 23)

Gym badges: 5

I resumed where I left off and beat my rival, Barry, relatively easily this time. I then chased after the Team Galactic grunt and eventually battled him at the Valor Lakefront, where he then ran away. Cynthia showed up and gave me the secret medicine. I then flew to Veilstone City and went north, using the secret medicine on the Psyduck blocking the route. Made my way even further north and west, battling trainers until I reached Celestic Town. I beat the Team Galactic grunt there and delivered the old charm to Cynthia’s grandma, where in turn I got the HM for Surf. Then I flew back to Hearthome City and participated in another tough contest with Brawn, this time a great rank tough contest. Ended up winning it in a landslide once again thanks to good preparation with poffins for Brawn and execution during the visual, dance, and performance stages of the contest. Finally, I entered the Hearthome City gym and deliberately faced every trainer there and not going the correct route the first time after each question since my team needed some more training. I made it up to Fantina eventually and faced her in battle. I was able to take out her Drifblim with Brawn pretty easily. Then she sent out her Mismagius, which I sent Brave out to face. Things were looking grim and Brave was in the yellow health points zone, but delivered a critical hit Fly to knock out Fantina’s Mismagius in one move. I then faced her Gengar with a combination of Brash and then Bliss, defeating her Gengar with some Crunches from Bliss and earning my fifth gym badge. After that, I grinded a little bit with Blaze and he evolved into a fully evolved Infernape, meaning my team is all fully evolved now. :D When I next resume my challenge I’ll be surfing along route 218 and heading into Canalave City for my sixth gym battle, which is also the Pokemon city in my signature. My team is a little underleveled right now, so I may need to do some grinding before the gym battle. Looking forward to it though. :)

Yet another new update on my Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke challenge (if anyone besides me wants to post, feel free lmao...)

Trainer: Riley

Current team:

Blaze the male Infernape (level 41)
Brave the male Staraptor (level 40)
Brawn the male Golem (level 40)
Bliss the female Floatzel (level 41)
Brash the female Girafarig (level 41)
Brawl the male Riolu (level 26)

Deaths:

Brain the female Meditite (level 23)
Brisk the male Snover (level 38)

Gym badges: 7

I spent yesterday going around the routes and cities of Sinnoh I’ve visited so far in the game and using Surf on the areas I previously couldn’t Surf on to battle trainers and get items. Kept trying to catch a sixth mon for my team as well. There was a level 29 Luxio that appeared at Fuego Ironworks, but it made the battle end by using Roar T_T... then I made it to route 221, but a Floatzel was the first encounter, and dupes clause wouldn’t let me catch it. Was pretty convinced by this point that the game doesn’t want me to have a full team, lmao. Anyway, I went back to Hearthome City and participated in the Ultra Rank Toughness Contest with Brawn, but unfortunately lost this time. I went to my secret base near Eterna City underground and decorated it with the items I had previously bought from the Veilstone City shopping mall. Thankfully, I’ve been able to save up a large amount of pokemoney throughout the game (I have between 100,000+ and 150,000 right now), so buying potions, pokeballs, and TMs hasn’t been a problem. I then went back to Canalave City and did everything I could do there including battling Barry in a 5v5 battle. I used Brawn to take care of his Staravia, Blaze to take care of his Roselia, Brave for his Heracross, Brash for his Prinplup, and Bliss for his Ponyta. I then went to Iron Island and battled all the trainers there along with Riley, taking down Team Galactic as well. I used a number of max repels and was given an egg for Riolu by Riley, so I guess that’s TECHNICALLY the first Pokemon I encountered there . I then battled the Canalave City gym and Byron. Byron was honestly a pushover this time playing through the game. I managed to take out his Bronzor with one Flamethrower from Blaze, his Bastiodon with one Focus Blast from Blaze, and his Steelix with one more Flamethrower from Blaze. Neither his Bastiodon nor Steelix had Sturdy for some reason, even though I thought they usually do. Anyway, I earned my sixth gym badge and then grinded a bit for Blaze to reach level 40. The Riolu egg hatched in Veilstone City, and I nicknamed the Riolu Brawl (because that’s the Smash game Lucario debuted in). When I next resume my challenge I’ll be facing Team Galactic at the Valor Lakefront and beyond, and eventually make my way to Snowpoint City where the seventh gym battle awaits. :)

EDIT: Resumed my challenge and went to the Valor Lakefront, where I battled Team Galactic and defeated Commander Saturn. I then went north from Mt. Coronet and onto routes 216 and 217, passed Lake Acuity, and entered Snowpoint City. I had caught a Snover on route 216, but it fainted halfway to Snowpoint City, so Brawl will be taking the sixth spot for now. Not much to do in Snowpoint City, so I took on the gym and got through it relatively easily. Candice was also kind of a pushover thanks to Blaze. Took care of her Snover and Abomasnow with Blaze, her Sneasel with Bliss, and her Medicham lastly with Brave. When I resume my challenge next time, I’ll be going to Lake Acuity to take on Team Galactic again, and eventually on my way to Sunyshore City, the site of the eighth and final gym badge. Looking forward to it. :)

if anyone besides me wants to post, feel free lmao...
Apologies, I would update but I haven't done anything since last update. I've had a lot on my mind recently and it's been difficult to manage time well and juggle between stuff. I'm just posting this to say I haven't failed my Nuzlocke yet and I'm explaining why there hasn't been any new updates on my end. I'll try to get some progress in tomorrow and have an update post out then as well.

Edit: I do have a small update I can supply now. Nothing too special, nothing as big as I would've wanted but my parents are forcing me to go to a church event with them tonight and they want me to get ready to go ASAP so this is the best I can do for now. I did continue through Fiery Path and traveled across Hoenn some more. I just went through a bunch of routes, caught some new wild Pokemon (a Spinda named Spots and a Zubat named Batwoman are the ones I caught) and battled a bunch of trainers. Unfortunately Akko died in one of those battles because I was up against a Koffing and I completely forgot about Koffings and Self Destruct (although I figured Akko could take it) and it was just an awful time all around. Ah well. I did add Wednesday to my party, though, and I've been doing some level grinding with it. Aside from that, Bullwinkle and Ms. Saturn also evolved, so that's nice. The most noteworthy story thing that happened today was me arriving at Meteor Falls and encountering Team Magma and Aqua mugging Cozmo. Well, I believe the next stop is Mount Chimney, so I guess it's off to there next time, and I will also try to evolve my Graveler into a Golem then, maybe.

No worries! It’s fine. I realized that others probably haven’t made as much progress on their challenges due to school, work, and stuff. Thanks for providing a small update though. Feel free to take your time with your challenge. :)

Anyway, a new update on my Pokemon Diamond Nuzlocke challenge.

Trainer: Riley

Current Team:

Blaze the male Infernape (level 44)
Beaks the female Pelipper (level 42)

Deaths:

Brain the female Meditite (level 23)
Brisk the male Snover (level 38)
Bliss the female Floatzel (level 42)
Brawn the male Golem (level 42)
Brave the male Staraptor (level 43)
Brash the female Girafarig (level 42)
Brawl the male Lucario (level 38)

Gym badges: 7

I, however, didn’t take my time with my challenge, and it cost me. I didn’t do the grinding necessary to keep my team afloat, so deaths started happening one by one. I beat Team Galactic at Lake Acuity and flew around Sinnoh, using Rock Climb to reach the items and trainers I couldn’t before. One of the trainers on route 216’s Geodude used Explosion, and I made the mistake of switching into Bliss instead of Brawn, causing Bliss to die. I then went to Mt. Coronet to try and defeat Team Galactic once and for all. Well I did, but at the cost of the majority of my team. Brawn ended up dying to a Galactic grunt’s Beautifly’s Giga Drain inside Mt. Coronet’s upper reaches, when I should have battled it using Blaze. I then made it to Spear Pillar and battled the Team Galactic grunts there, defeating them easily. I continued on to battle Commanders Mars and Jupiter in a double battle with Barry, but both Barry’s and my Pokemon were underleveled by about 5 compared to the opponent. We managed to win, but at the cost of Brawl dying to Skuntank’s Flamethrower (I didn’t know Skuntank had Flamethrower at the time). I then faced Team Galactic’s boss, Cyrus, in one final battle and managed to win, but at the cost of Brash and Brave. I had just Blaze left on my team when he had Crobat and Weavile left. Managed to take an Air Slash and survive, and took out his Crobat with Blaze’s Flamethrower. He sent out his Weavile, I healed Blaze, and then he used X-Scissor instead of Brick Break, sparing me and allowing me to get in one more Flamethrower to win the battle. I then captured Dialga in a master ball and nicknamed it Beast, and it was sent to my PC. With only Blaze remaining in the challenge, I went to route 222 and captured a first encounter Wingull, which I nicknamed Beaks and gave a rare candy to to evolve into a Pelipper. I’m not giving up on my challenge until all of my team has died, because I think I put too much time into this to quit now. I am going to be taking a break from it for awhile though so I can get some studying done on this break. When I next resume my challenge, I’ll be vying for the eighth and final gym badge. Looking forward to it. :)

I was able to get some more progress in tonight and I figured it'd probably be a good idea to go ahead and get some progress in now since I'm probably gonna be distracted by a bunch of other stuff this weekend before going back to doing school stuff next week. So here's an update.

Pokemon Emerald Nuzlocke Progress:
Trainer: Andrew
Badges: 4/8
Current team:
- Wednesday the male Numel, Lv. 25
- Bullwinkle the male Golem, Lv. 25
- Wormothy the female Dustox, Lv. 26
- Ms. Saturn the female Breloom, Lv. 28
- Miss Piggy the female Spoink, Lv. 29
- Meme the male Marshtomp, Lv. 29
Deaths this session:
N/A

So, the first order of business was to take on Team Magma at Mt. Chimney. I made my way all the way back to Route 112, and since the path is unblocked to me now, I went up Mt. Chimney and took on Team Magma. Meme made quick work of most of the Grunts and even made Maxie's fight a cakewalk. Speaking of Meme making things a cakewalk, the gym in Lavaridge was also a cakewalk thanks to Meme. It was able to pretty much solo the entire thing, and the only one who gave me even a small amount of trouble was Flannery herself, but even she wasn't invincible. And thus, the fourth gym badge is mine and I'm off. Before that though, I went through Jagged Pass and caught a Spoink, which I named Miss Piggy and would later become a party member since I found it to be the best addition currently out of all the Pokemon I have in the PC. I also caught a Trapinch which I named Gonta and a Sandshrew that I named Jack. Finally, I made Bullwinkle evolve into a Golem. Gonna do some grinding next since the next Gym Leader is Norman and I want to be prepared, so I'll try to take care of all that and more next time.
