What Are You Happy About Today?

Today I'm happy because:

- I completed everything I needed to get done at work and left on time.
- I took walks on both my morning and afternoon breaks.
- My boss showed me some pictures and a video of her absolutely adorable 3 week old fawn Frenchie puppy. He's such a little potato!
- My shower head has been installed and it looks really nice. The bathroom doors are back up too. Yay for privacy!
- My dog has been so interested in the bathroom since all the work began. He used to be afraid to go in there, but now he's exploring anytime we leave the door open. I'm hoping this means he won't be afraid anymore once it's all done.
- I have a massage therapy session tomorrow that I'm really looking forward to.

☾ I wasn't planning on it originally, but I was able to sneak in some time to play Minecraft today! ^^ I got a couple more achievements too.
☾ I also got some more work done on my ACNH island! I should hopefully have enough for my next journal entry soon.
☾ Watched a few Youtube videos with my parents this evening!
☾ I made another rubber band bracelet! I had a few bands snap in the process (and one of them popped my finger pretty good ;A; ), but I managed to make it work out in the end!
☾ I've hopefully figured out some minor adjustments to my routine that should help me reduce my stress and get more done!

❀ I am super sore from running and tackling from the first few days of rugby practice, but the soreness feels good, I really missed this feeling because I find it hard to be motivated to stay active during the off-season.. I also lifted for the first time in a few months and it felt really great, I can't wait to get stronger!!
❀ I went shopping with some of my rugby teammates, I usually only see them at practice so it was nice to bond with them more, especially because I will be graduating in May
❀ I stocked up on my favorite vegan fishless fish filets, I got 4 packs of them, they are soooo good!! I eat them with chickpeas and rice

♡ I played table tennis on Wii Sports Resort and got to the Champion, Lucía! I haven't beaten her yet, but I have high hopes since I've already defeated her before.

Well Diana has beaten Sakura in baseball and Matt in swordplay (duel), so I'm sure she can beat Lucía . . . Eventually.

Speaking of Sakura, I also got her as my opponent. I don't think I've faced her in many sports (only in baseball), so that was nice.

♡ Watched a few episodes of South Park today, I'm on season 7 now! I'm honestly so glad that Kenny is back after being absent in the past season. I didn't get to finish the episode "Cancelled", but it was essentially a throwback (or 'repeat') of the first episode, which I thought was pretty neat.

♡ Finished one of the drawings for my art challenge, the character I drew was really fun to draw!

♡ Only one week until my birthday! I can't wait!

- I bought myself a relatively cheap vintage miu miu bag on depop last night, partly as a reward for getting good grades, but also because I wanted it for my trip to Japan this spring. I'm happy the seller is super nice and managed to get it posted really quickly <3 So excited, miu miu is one of my fav brands but I definitely couldn't justify the price of a new one (or a used one, actually, I got really lucky with the price).

- Baked up some Co-Op frozen pain au chocolats for my mum and myself this afternoon and we both agreed they're the best we've ever had

⟡ I’ve ordered another Transformers toy for my manager’s autistic son. She doesn’t use eBay, so she gave me the money to buy it. I texted her that it came, and her son saw the text. He saved up his allowance for it so he’s really proud of himself. He was so excited he wanted to call and thank me, and hearing the excitement in his voice made my night.
⟡ I realized that I get paid for my job sometime today or tomorrow. I thought we got paid next week, so I’m happy to realize my timing was a bit off.
⟡ I’m being thankful that my favorite person exists in my life. She’s ****ing perfect. <3

- I ordered some really cool vintage looking light bulbs for the bathroom.
- Most of the painting is done and the new toilet has been installed.
- My husband sent me some cute GIFs to cheer me up.

• I commissioned @/BrokenSanity to do my art request and I loved how their drawing turned out! I was pleasantly surprised by how they managed to complete it so quickly. You may have already seen it in my signature, but here's the original drawing they made for me in the spoiler (the one in my signature is cropped and I didn't want to break signature rules without shrinking it too much)!

It's Queenie and Sterling, two of my favourite villagers on my NH island. I don't know about you, but they look so adorable to me.

• I went to the mall to get some groceries. After that, I went to Toys R Us and saw this cute stuffed toy of Blue from Blue's Clues. It brought me lots of smiles (and to my mother and sister as well) especially after pressing on her paw.

• I got some college stuff done.

• I legit had a fun time going through the lab classes in college. It's much better than just sitting down all day plus, it gives me the opportunity to familiarize myself with the mechanics and bits of stuff to get more comfortable with it.
• Apparently, I got accepted for a bursary I applied to! Every little bit helps, especially since I had to buy a textbook eventually lol.

• There was snow on the ground but do you know what's even better? Despite lasting for a short while, the weather was sunny and personally, it made for some great views looking around.

January 25, 2023

• I got to take another closer look at the transmission gears in one of my classes and move them around to see how it functions. To be really honest with you, I'm still lost but slowly grasping my understanding of it. Ultimately, it's pretty cool and gives me a new perspective on how a component of a car works really.
• I ate a burger and fries from Five Guys. I was really savouring the taste especially when it was cold outside.
• A lot of snow fell. Actually, there was a winter storm, but it didn't really affect me at all since I was already at home when it started. I felt cozy indoors watching all the snow pile up (though, there will be shoveling involved eventually lol). Funnily enough, there was also a snowstorm around this time last year, except it was much worse when the depth of the snow reached up to my knee! I still remember it like it was yesterday.
• I'm glad that my mother came home safely. The weather made the conditions pretty poor, so it took her a long while to arrive.
• I cooked food for dinner and it tasted really good, especially with raw red onions on the side!
• I played Gran Turismo 7 and did a few custom races exclusively against cars that had their engines swapped. It made for some funny and challenging scenes trying to fight for the lead. I'll share the whole grid next time, but here's a moment from the race that shouldn't exist in the first place lol.

From closest to farthest from the camera, underlined names indicate that I've spotted the said car (or at least similar in appearance) in real life. Also, I'm the one driving the Mr. Bean car haha.

1. 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C3 --> Swapped engine from a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1! It's got over 900 horsepower after putting in engine upgrades. Horrible traction for days oops.
2. 1965 MINI Cooper 'S' --> Swapped engine from a 2020 Honda Civic Type R FK8! This Honda keeps getting mentioned LOL.
3. 1945 Jeep Willys MB --> Swapped engine from a 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat! Sure, let's engine swap a WWII vehicle to make it more dangerous than it already is.

• I got to play New Horizons again so I could participate in the New Year, New Horizons TBT event! I'm not entirely sure if I'll keep up with the writing aspect, but I do find some fun in it trying. In the process of playing the game to make my journal post, I ended up getting a golden flooring DIY from Raymond which I never got before! And to end it off on a funny note, Bea played a card game with me and I burst out laughing when I saw the outcome. Honestly, I saw it coming when the number 6 came up and had to guess a higher number. Very nice.

- I slept well.

- Having fun strengthening my new team in Genshin Impact.

- The Dallas Mavericks play the Phoenix Suns tonight in Phoenix. It'll be on TNT at 10 p.m. EST. Looking forward to watching it!

- In just one week I managed to get better at something at work. This is what it means to go beyond! Plus... ULTRA!

I had a really nice day today. The weather was warm so I walked to do a bit of shopping and got myself a 2023 day planner! For the last couple of weeks I have really missed having a day planner so I'm glad to have a new one for the next 12 months. Played a lot of Animal Crossing today and got a lot done (in game and another entry for my island journal). I made myself a really yummy smoothie for lunch and meatballs for dinner. Lastly I came to a decision about how to spend some of my birthday/christmas gift cards so I placed an order for something and now have a package to look forward to.

We had to take our dog to the vet today because he’s been having some issues we were worried about, but he got a clean bill of health!! Most things are just due to age (he’s 11) and the vet is not concerned at all which is comforting. I really trust our vet and everyone at the office is very nice! He got lots of treats.

⟡ I filed my taxes today so that’s out of the way. It wasn’t as much as it was last year, frankly nowhere close to the amount of last year, but I’m thankful that I don’t owe anything. It’s also been accepted.
⟡ I was able to see my favorite person today very briefly. She’s in the process of making me a deck of Yugioh cards based on things that I like. She’s going to teach me how to play next time we hang out, so maybe I’ll pick up a new interest. If not, I still appreciate the thought and creativity of the deck. She really took my personality into account when doing this. Also, I love how she sometimes picks me up when she hugs me. <3
⟡ I ordered a new drawstring bag online that I love the colors of. It’s a color way I was specifically looking for and it took a bit of searching to find a site with one in stock and not overpriced.
⟡ I’m just in a surprisingly decent mood, and my days off are around the corner. I’ll be playing Mario Kart, relaxing, and enjoying time to myself.
⟡ I had McDonald’s for lunch. I got two double hamburgers and an ice cream cone.

Today I'm happy because:

- Things finally calmed down a bit at work and I got several tasks completed.
- I took walks on both my morning and afternoon break.
- I satisfied a craving with a really good cheeseburger and fries for dinner.
- We have been told that the work on the bathroom will be finished tomorrow! They'll finish the clean-up on Saturday, but we should finally have our bathroom back after 7 weeks without it. If it really happens, I'm going to take the longest shower this weekend.
- I am once again the proud owner of a Zombie Halloweaster Egg. Thanks, Midoriya!

☾ I got to watch a little more of the Pokémon anime in the background today! The last couple of weeks haven't been great for that sort of thing, so it was nice to get back to it.
☾ I finished another journal entry and worked on my island some more!
☾ My parents and I watched some Youtube together this evening as usual, and we also decided on another channel we'd like to check out when we're caught up with everything else! ^^
☾ I made a couple of rubber band bracelets and started work on a third!

@Foreverfox Luka Doncic got hurt three minutes into the game, but the Mavs rallied around Spencer Dinwiddie and beat the Suns in Phoenix 99-95!!! Perfect end to a great day.
