What Are You Happy About Today?

Today I'm happy because:

- I slept really deeply last night and got to sleep in this morning. My dog didn't even wake me up for his breakfast like usual so I got to sleep straight through for 9 hours. It felt great!
- We were able to take our afternoon walk before the rain started. It's supposed to rain literally all week, so I'm glad we got to enjoy some time outdoors.
- We saw some the neighborhood dogs and cats while we were out walking. Two different cats gave us death glares as we passed because we happened to catch them while they were doing their business.
- My nephew texted me again just to tell me about his day! I love that he wants to talk to me and I hope it continues.
- I watched another episode of The Crown and it involved the Romanovs whose story I've always found particularly interesting.
- I spent a lot of quality time with my husband and my dog including snuggling with them both.
- It's been a good long weekend. I feel rested and relaxed.

I'm still holding out on spotting the C1 someday...

☾ I'm making good progress on my farm in Stardew Valley! I also finally obtained the last Rarecrow I needed for my collection! ^^
☾ My family and I watched SmallishBeans' newest episode of New Life, and his new origin is really cool! We got to see a few other short videos too.
☾ On a personal note, I've been doing some thinking lately—for a long time now I've been pretty hard on myself for not being as ambitious/driven as other people in creative work (which isn't even a standard I hold others to because yay self-esteem issues wooo), but it finally got me to rethink what I actually want. And the conclusion that I came to, and that I've been feeling very comfortable in, is that I think my actual dream is to be a homemaker!!
This doesn't really change what I'm doing right now, and it'd take some special circumstances for it to actually work out, but darn it I just feel happy knowing it's my dream. I think just knowing this will let me be a little happier and a little more satisfied with my current work too.

- Got a new debit card delivered today since mine was about to expire, so I'm pleased about that!

- Sorted out some financial stuff for uni with my mum last night

- Got in touch with my friend who I haven't talked to for ages and we should be meeting up for ice cream fairly soon

- Had a bad start to the day after getting up early and making an unnecessary trip into work (when I could have worked at home) in super heavy rain, but my day ended pretty nicely after all. Washed my hair and relaxed this afternoon

These past couple days have been FANTASTIC!

Yesterday I slept in because of the holiday, and then the Texas Rangers beat the Chicago White Sox 5-2!

Today I had a good day at work, and the shiny EV/IV bred Riolu @michealsmells gave me evolved into a shiny Lucario!! I also got up super early today and finished my Honkai: Star Rail runs before work.

I did my driving training thing with the instructor today and didn't hit anything or anyone, no one hit me and the instructor said I did well and even when I was out on actual roads with traffic and other cars.

*⁀➷ my last day of classes went pretty well! i got to say goodbye to my teachers, and had a lot of fun goofing around with my friends it still hasn’t sunk in yet that this is it, but it was a nice way to end my school journey!

*⁀➷ i received my mark back for another one of my culminating assignments, and i got 92/100 marks!! my last unmarked culminating assignment is the one i’m most nervous about, but i’m hoping i did well on it!

*⁀➷ i helped my parents clean up after dinner! dinner was pretty yum tonight

*⁀➷ i purchased my event blue star frag!! i was gonna wait until the 29th so that it could commemorate my actual grad date, but not sure if they’ll still be in the shop then so i decided to commemorate my last day of classes instead it’s close enough for me haha

*⁀➷ i didn’t have any trouble falling asleep last night! falling asleep and getting good sleep has been kinda hard for me lately, so i’m glad that i got some rest last night!

*⁀➷ now that i have some more free time and energy, i’ve began deep cleaning my room! i started with dusting and reorganizing today, and i’m pretty proud of what i got done! i’ve got lots more to do, but i’m grateful to have the time now c’:

Today I'm happy because:

- My work day turned out easier than I expected. This week's implementation was postponed so I wasn't rushed to finish everything.
- One of my coworkers who was out on medical leave returned to work today. I'm glad to have him back and that he's doing well.
- We completed a huge and important implementation over the long weekend and didn't run into any problems today.
- I saw Mortimer, my little bat friend, on the porch last night and again today. He's been sleeping there all day.
- The rain paused this afternoon when I had to go out and the sun even made a brief appearance.
- I had a good massage therapy appointment this afternoon.
- I was craving a mint chocolate chip milkshake and I got one this evening.

I went to the aquarium and got to touch rays, urchins, anemones. I also saw a lot of cool creatures, like sharks, turtles, pufferfish, lobsters…and even a six-banded armadillo! (In a separate area of course)

today’s happies :

my partner is visiting! i’m going on an overseas trip soon, so i’m so glad for the opportunity to see their lovely face for the next few days. it means a lot that they came.

had a lovely italian dinner out with my dad and partner. nice weather, wine, bolognese, macchiato, chocolate mousse cake… what else could you want?

i’ve been talking to my sister a lot lately, and a change in her plans means that she’s coming to spend the summer at home. so i’ll be seeing her a lot more than expected and we can travel together. yay!

i just found out from xara’s post above that there’s a nintendo direct tomorrow. so now i get to be excited about that too!!!

tomorrow i’m taking my partner to a cute local town to get breakfast at a famous lil spot, wander around, go to coffee shops and art museums, and rack up steps in pikmin bloom. :’)

coming back to the bell tree has been warm and comforting. i hope you’re having a good day, wherever you are!

☾ I ordered a new bed set that should be arriving very soon! It looks super pretty and matches my aesthetic really well (super pale pink and mint green! botanical patterns!!), so hopefully my days of mismatched sheets and out-of-season Christmas blankets will soon be over!! ;v;
☾ I was able to finish a few rubber band bracelets! I've had a few ideas that I've been meaning to make for a while and finally had the time today.
☾ I got to play a little of both Jack Jeanne and Stardew Valley! (Both are excellent for doing pomodoros imo). In the latter I have a rainbow chest storage room now and am also finally incubating my first ostrich!! I'm very excited!!
☾ Watched SolidarityGaming's latest New Life episode and a few other short videos with my family this evening!
☾ I have collected so many new desktop wallpapers recently omg

It's the Summer Solstice which means the nights gradually start to draw in and we slowly descend towards Autumn once again.

- I slept well today.
- Went to the library and checked out some books. I was glad to find some of the books from my favorite fantasy series. Btw, you guys should go to the library, you can read any book you're interested in! For example, you can read books about cooking, knitting, photography, art, sports, crocheting, or anything you'd like to learn about. Even if you aren't an avid reader, you can at least check out DVDs or magazines. In addition, there are graphic novels and manga for people who prefer reading comics over books. Overall, libraries are not merely a place to study, they are a place to read to your heart's content!
- After leaving the library, my mom picked me up and we went to my aunt's apartment where she cooked some yummy rice.
- Played AC: New Horizons in the afternoon.
- Went shopping with my mom and bought some socks.

➣ I look forward to seeing my favorite person tomorrow, even for briefly. She’s always very sweet, even in the morning when she’s slightly grumpy, lmao. I’m craving her affection, haha.
➣ I am excited about seeing my mom and my friend after work today. Maybe we’ll order pizza again?
➣ I found a few country covers I really like. I’ve been disassociating lately because country music isn’t what people like me typically listen to, but I have enjoyed it from a young age. I realized music taste isn’t worth all the fuss and you should just listen to what you enjoy. I’m really enjoying this one in particular:

➣ I was able to get my hands on these two Mountain Dew flavors. I was very excited to try both of these. As of right now, I’ve only been able to try the Passionfruit Punch. It tastes slightly different from the Passionfruit Frenzy from New Zealand, which happens to be my favorite. That one has more of a citrus flavor, which I prefer. I’ll comment on the Caribbean Splash flavor once I try it. It’s guava flavored, and looking forward to trying it as well.

The New Super Princess Peach game looks great!

That’s ironic that there was just a new Super Princess Peach game announced. I literally just commented on your thread about it and how I didn’t see it being rereleased on a future console. I was wrong. It looks like I will be able to play it after all. Maybe I’ll wait a while after release, though, depending on the gameplay. I’m not sure I could justify full price for it yet.

I am happy about my first little harvest of potatoes.

Most of them were picked too early with their thin skin and being small. The white ones are white potatoes that should be brown and look like a baked potato size, but I did it because I found a couple of rotten ones and didn't want to lose them.

Hopefully the plants will survive my rummaging.

Had a great day today despite a rough start! (Some laptop issues while I was working, but they sorted themselves out after a bit )

- Got the grades back for 2 assignments and I'm happy with both of them! After a few slightly disappointing grades I'm just happy to get a First again (75) It also looks like the university marking strike won't affect me after all, which is great. I should be receiving my last grade on Friday

- I've gotten pretty great at making pancakes. Made some protein pancakes again today and they turned out lovely

- A nice sunny day after a few days of gloomy rain

- Completed work for the day which I'm happy about ofc

- My friends and I are meeting up for ice cream on Friday, the first time we've all been together in ages
