I saw a YouTube video that completely changed my perspective on drawing (no pun intended). I can’t remember the last time I’ve felt so motivated to work on my art!
- It's the last week of my internship, it's been a good experience overall and I got what I wanted out of it! I just wanted some work experience for my CV, but getting paid and developing some new skills were a nice bonus
- Finished up some leftovers that were in the freezer by turning my turkey chilli into tacos. I made some really delicious guacamole too (it tastes really good if you add spring onions).
- Meal prepped for tomorrow by cooking a chicken breast and making some mash potatoes in an effort to use up the huuuge amount of potatoes we currently have in
➣ I talked to my favorite person a little. We will be hanging out after she returns from her vacation. I don’t know what we are doing yet, but I’m sure it’ll be fun! ➣ I’m going to see my mom after work tomorrow and officially pick up the laptop. It’s a bonus that this is happening so close to Camp Bell Tree as well. Looking forward to the space aesthetics in desktop mode! This year’s camp has me so hyped. ➣ I’m bringing my friend from work over because he really likes cats and it’s been a while since we have been to Dave and Buster’s, which is our usual hangout spot. He’ll obsess over my mom’s cats, haha. Can’t stay too long, though, since he does have to work that night. ➣ I discovered that I resonate so much more with the non-binary label. I use he/they pronouns, and depending on the day I sometimes prefer the latter but I’m alright with either. It just feels nice to understand myself better. Better late than never, I suppose. ➣ I am getting my very bulky paycheck on Thursday which includes my PTO! I have been looking forward to this all week.
haven't posted in here in a bit so I suppose I can share a few things that I'm happy about
★ I bought a copy of Mario Power Tennis about a week ago, but I finally got around to playing it today! I only played for about 15 minutes though, since it was basically right before I had to leave for work. I ended up doing a singles game, best 2 out of 3, I played as Waluigi (duh) and my opponent was Wario on the novice setting bc I'm a noob. I think I was playing pretty well, though I'm used to playing Wii Sports tennis so I can't quite figure out how to time my swing to make the ball go in different directions. I ended up getting to a point where we were 1-1 and we were in a deuce/advantage brawl and I didn't want to win by relying on power shots, before the match ended I had to turn the game off so I could leave. But it was a pretty wild ride and I enjoyed it a lot, I'll have to check the manual to see if there's something I'm missing or if I really do just need to get good
★ I'm working on a few drawing ideas right now and I like how they're coming along!
★ my attention has kinda shifted from watching a bunch of different videos about video games and tech to binge watching The 8-Bit Guy, specifically his videos where he restores older computers and even goes into some detail about their operating system and what programs they use. I've always been really fascinated with older computers and video game consoles and CRT televisions, and just stuff like that in general.
I wish I was a little more tech savvy, aka being able to look at parts of a circuit board and understand the layouts, as well as being able to understand how CPU/ROM banks work, among other things, cause I could easily see working on stuff like that being a hobby of mine. watching him diagnose problems with these computers and fix them is satisfying in a way, it would be cool to know how to do stuff like that myself. maybe someday I'll get myself a C64 and start out simple
★ after talking to my psychiatrist he switched up my meds a bit, and I think when I first started them they kinda threw me into a mini depressive episode, but I'm okay now. I've actually not really been dealing with unnecessary anxiety for the last few days so that's nice!
★ I've been journaling a lot lately, really helps me sort out my thoughts and process them a lot more easily
★ still feeling very euphoric abt my romantic orientation I think bc it's only recently that I've really come to terms with it, and now that I'm embracing it it's like I'm finally being open about a big part of me
★ I have the day off tomorrow so I'm hoping I can rest up a bit and spend some time drawing or playing Mario Power Tennis more haha
️ I had a meeting last week that had a positive outcome. I was quite anxious leading up to it, so I'm glad it's over and that it turned out OK!
️ On the weekend I had dinner with my family. My mum brought me a few gifts, which was really sweet. The dinner was for my older sister's son's birthday, and I got him Mario Odyssey for Switch.
️ Even though I've been busy and tired, I've been running consistently 3x a week for three weeks now. It's an 18 week training plan. I don't generally enjoy running, I would prefer hiking in the woods/bush, but it's been pretty good.
️ I meal-prepped lunches for the next three days yesterday, a chickpea and vegetable curry. I'm eating it for lunch right now and it's taking forever because I accidentally made it way too .
️ I've made a little bit of time to play ACNH (I visited all my villagers, and made two HHP houses) over the last week. I also had some time to play Story of Seasons yesterday. I opened "It's a Wonderful Life", and just sort of realised that I don't feel like I am complete with Pioneers of Olive Town yet, so I went back and enjoyed playing my farm there. Once I get bored, I can always start the other later.
️ Oh, and I also made a small amount of time to draw on the weekend. I haven't even finished the lineart, but hopefully it turns out cute.
Sort of a weird assortment of things from the past couple of weeks, but I don't post here nearly enough!
Hope everyone has a lovely rest of the week! Hope anyone on a summer break is enjoying!
Today's been rough, but there are still a few things for me to be happy about.
- I had a good massage therapy session this afternoon. I was feeling really good about the evening when I left.
- My husband was really sweet to me. When things weren't going well, he let me cry on his shoulder.
- We had been waiting until Prime Day to purchase a few things and we got some good deals on them. I got two new sets of sheets for the price of one and we bought an air fryer to start cooking some things at home.
☾ I finished the events in Driftveil City in Pokémon White and caught my fourth dream team member, Joltik!! Spiders usually creep me out but this one is cute, I will admit. ☾ Watched GoodTimesWithScar's latest Hermitcraft episode and a few other videos with my parents this evening! ☾ Also started on another coloring page and it's coming along well! ^^
➣ I have two night shifts at my second job next week. It's extra money in my pockets. ➣ I love crying in front of my favorite person and her first instinct is letting me wipe my tears on her shirt. Similarly, when I was having a "female emergency" a while back she offered to lay towels in her car and drive me to the store get some pads. It wasn't that severe, but she acted like it was. Why is she like this? I'm ****ing hooked. ➣ Laptop has been acquired, and just in time for Camp Bell Tree. I'm getting used to it as this is my first laptop in over a decade. ➣ My bulky paycheck should be directly deposited into my bank account by tomorrow. I hope to see $$$ in the morning.
Today was my first full day of rest since returning from vacation, and I feel so much better. I've started tracking my own personal growth over the years and looking back on some things it really is amazing to see how far I've come. I also got a Reese's Cup milkshake with my lunch today!
I'm getting closer to my little vacation that I am taking tomorrow.
I am almost done with most of my school work so I don't have to worry about being behind when I get home at the end of the weekend.
i went kinda awol again in here, my bad my brain seems to think that it’s 1929 and that i need to experience a great depression, but i’ve been fighting it off the best i can and am doing reasonably well otherwise! i hope you all are doing good and taking care of yourselves <3 <3
*⁀➷ it’s miss bonk’s birthday today!! she is officially 2 years old, though i’m pretty sure she’s been embodying her terrible twos since she was born i would say she’s had a pretty good birthday— her first birthday with us! she’s been her usual goofy self all day, and she enjoyed her special tuna dinner, and all the extra attention and love she’s received all day as happy as i am to celebrate her, i am honestly just so glad that she’s here to celebrate. my last kitty, alize, passed away 13 days before what was supposed to be her first birthday, and zeva’s last birthday was in spring of 2021. it’s been a while since we’ve been able to celebrate a birthday, and when bonk had those health issues a few weeks back, i admittedly immediately thought the worst. but she’s here, and she’s healthy, and she made it to 2 years old, and i am so so grateful i love my extremely annoying girl c:
birthday breakfast of champs: catnip!
she tried to kill me after, so maybe bad idea
she got so high that she thought she was a drink
then she decided to get violent again
birthday shenanigans!
*⁀➷ i went out with my mom this afternoon! i thought we were just going to a couple of stores in the neighbourhood, but she surprised me by taking me to the mall!! i honestly can’t remember the last time i went shopping at the mall, but i can tell you my resolution to not spend all my money didn’t last very long LOL. i was able to pick up a couple of things i needed, as well as a bunch of fun things for myself! i am very happy with my purchases
there is no universe in which i go to hot topic and i don’t pick up a blind bag/box of some kind. i got 2 of the disney pride bag clips that i wanted the most (forky and ursula), and taco bellisima from the tokidoki blind box! i love the tokidoki figurines and disney blind bags so much, i’m so happy with what i got!
please look at my socks and axolotl necklaces, i nearly fell to my knees when i saw them i wasn’t expecting hot topic to have so much axolotl stuff, but it’s added 30 years to my life!! i love the necklaces so much please
and i got a bunch of shirts!! my mom clowned me for the strawberry milk frog, but it is so so cute and she’s just jealous! and the witch axolotls??!!?!
*⁀➷ my mom and i saw a wild turkey on our way home from shopping! i sadly couldn’t get a picture of him since the car was moving, but it was a very pleasant surprise! he kinda looked like a grumpy old man haha, but it was still a treat to see him!
*⁀➷ i’ve started cleaning my bathroom, as well as the kitchen! i’ve still got a bit of stuff to do, but i think i’m making good progress! i’m hoping to have both rooms done before i have to dust/vacuum/mop my room again next week :’)
it’s been a long day, so off to bed for me! night baes
❤ Me and my family are heading to the beach tomorrow, and we might even go to Rhode Island again sometime this week! I've been there a few times before, and it's actually pretty nice! The food is really good, too!
I had some Angel cake from the store today, and it was really good! It even inspired me to draw Merengue the rhino, which you can find on my art thread Here!
Today's Wednesday, so that means the start of a new tour in mario kart tour! And I like Piranha Plant Pipleline, which is the new course this time around
Planning on doing some writing later, I have an idea for a new story starring some of my favorite animal crossing villagers, and it might even replace Kourage for a bit depending on how I feel once it's done
I had some Chinese food for dinner tonight, and it was delicious!
- I'm feeling much better today. I was letting my stress levels get too high again, but I worked on the techniques my counselor gave me and things are feeling more manageable now.
- My work day was calmer today as well. A couple of coworkers I very rarely see in person came into the office and we had a productive in-person meeting for the first time in ages.
- I was able to take walks on both my morning and afternoon breaks. I walked outside in the morning before it got too hot.
- I got some reading done during my lunch break.
- I visited my mom after work and got to hang out with her cat. She was very affectionate with me today.
- I also got to see the feral cats my mom feeds and a groundhog. One of the cats had kittens and it was so cute watching them play.
- We've also had a calico cat show up on our back porch for the second time now. She has a collar and is willing to come to me for pets, but she looks thin. I'm going to keep an eye out for her and see if I can figure out what's up with her. Unfortunately, she and my dog do not get along so even though she's comfortable with me, she's run away both times as soon as my dog noticed her.

Welcome back to another post where I disappear for a few days and return to TBT. This is gonna turn into a week’s worth of highlights!
June 6, 2023 to June 11, 2023
I had pizza for lunch at one point and took advantage of their 50% off deal.
I played Tears of the Kingdom and made some good progress in the main quest! I completed the fourth dungeon (which turned out to be my personal favourite in the game) and other things that would otherwise spoil the game. At this point, I’m now looking for the master sword!
I watched the 2023 Formula 1 British Grand Prix! It was a little boring but after the safety car came out in the latter half of the race, there were a few entertaining battles. It's also awesome to see Lando Norris score a podium for McLaren and on pure pace too. The team were absolutely nowhere at the start of the season.
The past few days at work went fine for me. The highlight is that I helped someone remove brake pads from a vehicle and it was quite a learning experience for me! They showed me how to remove and reinstall them back onto the brake rotors which I attempted to do myself on a different one! Of course, I had them double check my work to make sure I was doing things correctly. Still have a very long way to go, but I’ll take it as a learning experience.
Feel free to skip this point. Funnily enough while I was at work, I saw a Nissan 300ZX again driving by for a split second. And so did a Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991), which I haven’t seen in almost a couple of years! The rear wing looked a little different compared to the one in the photo, but I could still tell it’s a 991 generation from the taillights along with a few more minor details. Those two cars I just mentioned have already been spotted before. HOWEVER, there is one car I haven’t spotted before, and that is a McLaren 650S! It took me over a month to spot a new car to add to the list oops. I was hoping to spot one someday ever since playing GT Sport for the first time in 2022 only to be baited multiple times by the 720S lol. They're both similar in appearance and the only thing that gave it away for me is the way it looks from the back... Which shares a similar design to the McLaren MP4-12C. It's amazing how I saw these cool cars just by being at work.
I played a little bit of Gran Turismo 7 here and there tackling the online time trials. One got knocked down to silver but I thankfully set a lap time back to gold.
I made a bit more progress in my drawing as I’m in the outlining stages at this point in time.
June 12, 2023
My shift at work wasn’t very busy today. In fact, I was told that I can go home earlier than usual! I’m happier with the fact that I’m off from work for the next two days! My weekend has arrived early haha.
It was a sunny day and I walked around in a mall for a little while.
I had an ice capp from Tim Hortons lol.
The fifth wave of the booster course pass from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe dropped today and I got to race on the newly released tracks! Squeaky Clean Sprint was a pleasant surprise to play on. Moonview Highway from Mario Kart Wii is pretty nice too while I intentionally drove into a couple of bob omb cars for the giggles lol. The highlight for me is of course Sunset Wilds from Super Circuit! I’m a bit disappointed that it didn’t have a time transition which the original version had (and the one from Tour as well) since that what it’s best known for, and the only track in the entire Mario Kart series to have that gimmick as far as I know (though, please feel free to correct me!). But what really saved it for me is the remastered soundtrack! Even back when I was very young, I always thought the Super Circuit version sounded a little too quiet. Now, the new one it sounds more upbeat. With the addition of Sunset Wilds, that means there are now eight tracks from Super Circuit. You can make two grand prix cups with that!
GBA
Switch
0:46 makes me think that I'm riding on horseback into the sunset.
It's hard to tell, but the sky is more purple on the second lap.
It's a nice detail that they kept the giant footprints. If you stopped right beside these shy guys, they try to sing along with the soundtrack!
And then on the third lap, a full moon is present. Crash into one of the tents and a shy guy will hold on to your back, slowing you down temporarily.
Can we also take the time to notice how the arch looks very similar to the one in Super Circuit? What was once a part of a background has now been integrated onto the track itself!
Enjoy a view of the track in almost its entirety!
My dad cooked some tasty food for dinner!
I got a bit of drawing progress done!
Life has been busy, but I do hope that I'll be able to participate in this year's Camp TBT somewhat. I had a lot fun participating in the first one, even though the "irregular bearer appears regularly if you know where to look" or something along those lines gave me flashbacks. If you know, you know lol. There were even reactions where you dug, clownfished, or buzzed a post which was a nice touch. Where are my Poliwag besties at?
☾ I made it up to the Mistralton City Gym in Pokémon White today! I should be able to take it on next time! ☾ I was able to finish the coloring page that I started yesterday! ☾ My family and I watched some Youtube videos together and got to catch up with SolidarityGaming's most recent episode of New Life! My mom and I also watched Danny Gonzalez's Minecraft stream from yesterday, and oh my god the thirty minute speedrun he pulled off was incredible?? I'm so excited for the video on this one ☾ Retrieved a ton of my cats' toys from various corners and underneath furniture, and they had a blast afterwards ahahaha
What I did yesterday on 7/11/23:
- I slept well and woke up feeling refreshed.
- Played Pokémon Unite and won some matches with Sylveon, Scizor, and Inteleon.
- The cat slept on my lap and was purring.
And what I did today on 7/12/23:
- I read some books in the evening.
- Played AC: New Horizons and I fully completed my fossil collection in the museum! WOO-HOO this is definitely the highlight of my day!
- Went for a walk in the afternoon.
- Spent time with the cats.
Omggggg, I love these!!! The inner Fire Emblem fan in me is raving, haha.

Years later I finally finished both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame! I thought the movies were pretty good, although Endgame is definitely better (for obvious reasons to anyone who has seen them).
(Thought I'd post as well so the next person's post will be top of page).
