What Are You Happy About Today?

Today I was finally able to add a pre-1800s US coin to my coin collection! The coin is a large cent from 1798, just 5 years after the United States Mint first began minting coins (first mintage was in 1793). I can only imagine the kind of history this particular cent has had in its 225 years of existence!

Today I'm happy because:

- The weather was very nice for our afternoon walk.
- I had my first cup of hot chocolate for the season.
- I got a few older incidents cleared out of my queue.
- I finished work for the week and now I have the next 9 days off!
- I get to focus on the rest of the Haunted Carnival event, enjoy my birthday next week, and sleep in!
- Daylight Savings Time is ending soon, so I'll get an extra hour before I have to go back to work!

I was able to get the secret/joke ending in Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion! I mostly worked towards it in the background while doing other stuff and it was pretty fun ahaha.
Finally finished reading the last volume of the Durarara!! light novels! I've been putting it off for literal months now so I'm glad I finally sat myself down and made myself finish it.
I got surprised with a cute lil sticker sheet today!! The little characters on it remind me a bit of Animal Crossing. c:
My family and I watched GeminiTay's latest Secret Life episode!
And I got to play some more Stardew Valley! I played a bit on my hat-collecting file and I also started up another new farm hehe! I'd like to play with all of the farm types so I can get a feel for which are my favorites.

Happy today because,

- I got up early and was productive at work. 📊

- The weather was nice. ⛅

- I got paid today. 💸

- I won 50/50 for Topaz today in Honkai: Star Rail! Already have her mostly built. 🎮

- The Texas Rangers were down 5-3 against the Arizona Diamondbacks in game one of the baseball World Series heading into the ninth inning... that is, until my favorite player Corey Seager tied it 5-5 with a towering 2-run homer! Then, in the 11th inning Adolis Garcia walked it off on a solo home run for the Rangers to win it 6-5!!! This team MAKES me want to believe in them. And now we only need 3 more wins to win a World Series for the first time ever. I just wish my mom was here with me to have witnessed this... this one's for you, mom. ⚾ 🔥 💚

-Mom and I styled my niece’s hair. She definitely looked like the rave version of Wednesday Addams. After school, she said that a lot people complimented her look.

-Halloween might happen tomorrow on my side of the city. Idk, they have a weird tradition that I didn’t find out about until last year. Which explains why I never got trick or treaters on the 31st. However, the city’s instagram page hasn’t posted anything yet about Halloween dates. We’ll see.🤞

I would love to see the sticker sheet if you're open to sharing it! 🥰
Of course! ^^ Already used a few and cut out some custom ones hehe but with those I was finally able to finish decorating the cover of one of my folders too!

- The woods were beautiful today! We finally got to see some proper autumn-coloured trees and even some mushrooms! We also saw a very noisy territorial stag and some other deer (we obviously didn't get close), lots of squirrels as usual, lots of singing robins, and lots of very friendly dogs, one of whom left a cute muddy paw print on my jeans, and we got to pet some of them too. The sun was really low so the lighting made everything prettier. Overall I think this was one of my favourite walks!

These ones look like coral.

I didn't realise this one was blurry oops

Fly agaric! They're pretty common but I'd actually never seen one in real life before. This one had broken off from its stem (you can kind of see it in the bottom left corner). I'm hoping we'll see more next time.

- Been catching up on Bake Off with mum because we ended up missing a few weeks. We just finished watching the latest episode, and my favourite contestant is still going strong!

- Free day tomorrow, I can't wait to rest.

Your fungi pics are amazing! The woods look beautiful! 🍄🌿🍃

I watched Hunter x Hunter and Fairy Tail with my parents this morning! We also caught some Youtube videos later, including Grian's new Secret Life episode!
One of the Haunted Carnival sideshow events got me this lovely orange username color and I love it!! ;v; It matches my current aesthetic's color scheme so well aaaaa
I'm all through with the activities in the Mind tent! On the one hand it's always bittersweet when events start to wrap up, but on the other I'm relieved to not have to worry about sideshow tickets for one tent anymore at least ahaha
I played lots of Stardew Valley today! cx I'm trying to max out my skills on my hat collecting file before winter of year 2 is over—I've got a lot of fishing left to do but I'm hopeful that I can make it! And despite being pressed for time I decided to spend over half a day just following my wife around town. I was curious ok!! Also got my second Prismatic Shard of this file! 🌈

I purchased a new wallet. I've personally been looking one that's minimalistic, and I found one that fits that description. It wasn't pricey at all either.
I watched a few more episodes of Eyeshield 21. I put off watching it because it doesn't have a dubbed, but I'm glad I decided to watch it anyhow.
I had a nice day at work despite the store being shorthanded all day. Things went a lot smoother than last night, strangely enough.
A situation arose that could have resulted in an argument but I chose to let it go. I feel like that's a win for my BPD. No point arguing with someone half my age anyway.
I am even more confident in the fact that I am non-binary after some serious self-reflection. I'm sad given my age and how long it took, but better late than never.
The Los Angeles Kings won their game last night against the Arizona Coyotes, and are currently playing well against Vegas. Let's see how this goes!!

-Today didn’t go as planned. However, I am thankful for the trick or treaters that did show up. Plus my leftover candy, books, and party favors will go to a family friend’s house. They always run out of stuff to give.

-Now I’m eating popcorn in order to de-stress.

Today I'm happy because:

- I slept really well last night and got to sleep in this morning.
- My nephews' birthday was yesterday. We texted back and forth a bit.
- My husband gave me one of my birthday presents early because it was damaged during shipping and he didn't know how I'd want to handle it. It's books 10-12 in the Wheel of Time series. The display box is beat up and torn pretty badly, but at least it protected the books themselves. They're almost perfect, so I'm still very happy.
- I heard a squirrel barking on my porch so I peaked out and watched it for awhile. It flicked its tail a bit and then splooted on the railing. It was so precious!
- The weather was nice for our afternoon walk. It's so strange having summer temperatures and red and orange leaves all over the ground, but it's beautiful.
- I spent some quality time with my husband and my dog.

My loofahs that I grew by seed and planted have really taken off. Well already have. I removed them all. I never knew loofah was a gourd until way earlier this year. I always assumed it was a type of sea sponge because I never really bothered to do research. I have some pictures from gourd to loofah if anyone is interested.

It was a lot of work and I wasn't sure if I would fail, but I did pretty well. I was surprised that my loofah's hadn't died or rotted on the vine since my life had been kind of a hectic mess and I had to put so much on the backburner.

The smell of loofah when the skin is peeled off is something else. I didn't care for it. It wasn't easy to peel the skin. I found baking it in an oven helped to loosen it a lot.

  • Slept good last night
  • Enjoying my last day off before work tomorrow :) Catching up on some household chores
  • Yesterday I baked 2 loaves of pumpkin bread and also cooked teryaki chicken with steamed broccoli and brown rice which came out amazing and I'm proud because normally I have a hard time cooking chicken and it tends to come out really dry but this came out perfect. It may be because I used boneless skinless chicken breast tenderloins instead of whole chicken breasts like I usually do. But yeah this tasted so good and I have leftovers for several days. I'm excited to get more into cooking. Last week I made a big mac version of sloppy joes from a recipe I found on Pinterest. It tasted just like a big mac from McDonalds but in sloppy joe form. It was amazing. I'm on a roll with cooking lately and hope to keep it up! Something is so nice and therapuetic about preparing a meal or baking desserts. It's getting me excited to find new recipes to try out :)
  • Had a great violin lesson yesterday
  • Enjoying watching the Digimon reboot right now

- Yesterday I did an exam, just one to go now! Due to a couple things I didn't have enough time to study properly for it, but I think it went okay.
-In the evening I went to my friend's birthday party, and the theme was 'things starting with the letter T', so me and another friend went as Toads together, myself green and they were blue! I made the waistcoats and we quickly made the hats together after my exam, and they turned out really good! Photos were great and although I left the party early because I was tired, it was nice to see people and everyone's costumes.
- Today I took a bit of a break and managed to finish my Creature Feature and Forbidden Fortunes entries!
- Had fish for dinner which was nice
