What are you reading?

Diary of a Void by Emi Yagi, before that I read lots of novels by Banana Yoshimoto, my favorite being Kitchen.

Finished Morning Star, 3.5 stars. There are more books in the series but I don't think I'll be reading them as I'm finding them a little boring/repetitive now. Now to decide which book to read next... I'm thinking maybe Dune or LOTR but also I fancy reading a non-fic

Both are great books! But they can be heavy reads. I do hope you enjoy them if you decide on one series or the other! (I do suggest reading all three LOTR books, but personally, only the first in the Dune series is worth reading in my opinion.)

I’m reading Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis Baldree. It lives up to its gorgeous cover. The book has snappy writing and likable characters. Some people have criticized it for not having the deepest world building, but I’m fine with that since the book is meant to be accessible and it allows for more time to focus on the characters.

I'm currently reading The House of Hades, and I'm about halfway through. It took some time to get through The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune, but I sped through The Mark of Athena, and now I'm here. To put things simply... these books have given me SO MUCH emotional damage, but I love them anyway.

Right now, I'm reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. I'm around chapter... 25 I think? It's a great book, but I think some parts might be a bit inappropriate to talk about on TBT.

There was this book we just finished reading in school that’s the first of a two parter called Persepolis. It was a pretty good book that sheds light on the Iranian Revolution. We’re going to read the next book next year, but it would be so much better if we read both books this year and also didn’t do any assignments on it. That’s so much more enjoyable.

I had that book as assigned reading in high school too! It was great. We never had the sequel assigned though and I didn’t read it myself until a few months ago. It’s a good read too, but is more focused on the writer’s life instead of the history of the time (although it’s still there).

Currently I’m reading the Unbalancing by R.M. Lemburg. I’m really impressed with the writing and themes in the book and definitely want to try other books in the series. It’s a shame it’s so obscure.

I got bored so I decided to binge-read the Dog Man books. I didn't get past the second one, "Dog Man Unleashed", when I was little, and I'm reading that right now. Man, those references always get me. The "Kinney's Real Estate" one is my favorite.

I picked up a book off my moms shelf called 'Child Called It'. It's a short read and easy read, but I think I'll stick with my fantasy novels.

It feels too much like I'm reading a sadism digest. Not to discount any of the authors experiences, because all the best to him.

I started reading Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett. I had a bad first impression of his work by buying one of his most disliked book first, but after someone recommended this other book of his I’m glad I gave him a second chance. This book is great, with very strong prose and characters.

I love this book, and the one that came before it too!

I'm now reading The Blood of Olympus, and I read The Reappearance of Rachel Price over the weekend. It was an amazing read, and I was physically unable to put it down. It's safe to say that Holly Jackson has made a great first impression, and I'll be getting my hands on A Good Girl's Guide to Murder as soon as possible.

currently rereading the hxh manga since i've been doing a rewatch of both anime versions!! also since the manga has new chapters coming, so excited <33

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I normally don't like YA, but I'm a fan of this author and this book is really good so far.

I finished reading Crown of Midnight (4/5), Assassin's Blade (2/5), The Hobbit (4/5) and I'm currently reading Heir of Fire (4th book in the TOG series).
I began reading LOTR too and I'm about 10~% through it but I took a break as I wasn't enjoying it very much. Will probably be one of those books I read alongside others.

I’m reading You Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea. With a title as good as that I knew it’d be an interesting read. So far it’s decent, but I think I prefer the Legends and Lattes series when it comes to the “cozy fantasy” subgenre.

What am I reading? 🤨 Uhh... don't worry about it. 📙🤫 It's not for you anyway, it's for.... YOU! 👈😉 *points at...you, duh* Hehehe... 😁💭 Uhh, anyway... 😳 I am reading a... comic book of sorts. Yes... a comic book! That's what I'm reading, yes! A comic book. 😇 Let me give you a run down of tonight's episode... *opens book and flips through aaall the wonderful pages...* 📖🤭

The comic is drawn in yellow and red. 💛❤️
The comic takes places in a bundle in bed. 🧶🛏️
The comic took place while I was asleep. 😴💤
The comic's protagonist committed a sneak. 🤭✨

A dog in her basket set off the alarm. 🌚🚨
And so our protagonist woke up from his arm. 😮❗
She saw there was trouble, a trap open wide 😪⚠️
and so she got up and she sat by his side. 🫂🔝

She fought with my smile, she fought on my face. 😙😊
She fought me with kisses all over the place. 😘💋
The comic is over, our protagonist wins! 🎉😆
They go back to sleep with flutters and grins. 🦋😁

I am currently reading My Favorite Thing Is Monsters, Vol. 1 by Emil Ferris. It's a stunningly made graphic novel, gifted to me by a friend for Christmas in 2023 that I'm finally getting to!
