What's the story behind everyone's island name?

Mine's named Springpond. Frogs have always been my favorite animals. I shared my GC, Wild World, and City Folk towns, but I had my own personal New Leaf town which I originally called Frogtown because I liked frogs. I wanted something a little more "froggy" than Frogtown, so I thought about bodies of water. Well, pond works! Spring works too ig, but that was more because I am Floridian and there's a bunch of springs here. My character's name is Froggy to match : )

My island is named "Hage" and I literally just took that from Black Clover. I was struggling to come up with a decent name as March 20th was approaching. I don't think I've ever reused a town name, but I did use the same inspiration for three towns in a row lol

"Cassiopeia" I wanted an astrological name that wasn't overused. Plus she's the Greek Goddess of Vanity!

Komorebi- which translates to 'sunlight filtering through the trees', I thought it was really pretty and in a slightly cheesy way animal crossing is like my sunlight in these scary times.

Le Cœur, which means "the heart" in French. I had it as my second NL town name, because I like puns... y'know, because it's like a second home to me, and "home is where the heart is".

But the fact that my island has a heart-shaped pond is purely coincidence. I promise you that.

My native fruit is cherries, so initially I wanted to name it Isla Cerise, 'cerise' being the French word for cherries. That was a little too long, so I changed it to Isla Cerys instead!

I named my island Boketto. It means 'to look away into the distance' or 'to daydream longingly' in Japanese. I thought it really rolled off the tongue and I really loved the meaning, also I wanted a Japanese name so I decided to go with Boketto.

Everyone has these meaningful names for their islands and mine is just named after one of the hardest dungeons in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Zero Isle

my island's name (ilmenskie) comes from an old and long-dead browser MMO called glitch! glitch was a lot like animal crossing in many ways, especially the incremental progress and peaceful play, and when it shut down the same year that NL came out, i immediately named my town after my favorite location (may soup) in it. with NH i've decided to make a tradition of honoring this game that i loved dearly!

in the game, the ilmenskie deeps & ilmenskie caverns were actually. you know. underground. but they were some of my favorite places in-game, and the name just sounds nice to me ☺

Named it Glitch just because... I like glitches, and might be considering trying some "glitch aesthetic" stuff design with my island...

Blue Sands
Blue is my fav colour, I wanted a beachy sounding name and it fits perfectly within the character limit.
It was between that and Seafoam, but I let my partner have that for his town.

I almost named my island Pickles ;u; Because that was my NL town named, named after my cat, Pickles uwu. For NH I ended up settling for Thornhill which I picked based off a band that I like, and it also had kind of a nature vibe to it so :p I would've been fine naming my island Pickles again though, haha

Mine's named Kawa Falls. When I first started the game, I realized I had absolutely no town name in mind! I liked the fact that there was waterfalls now, so I thought, River Falls. It sounded very bland and I didn't like it, so I ended up with Kawa (川) because it means river in Japanese. Sounds kinda nature-like anyways! That kanji ended up being apart of the flag.

Mine's called Wawanakwa and it's based of the island from Total Drama Island lmao

I chose Driftwood because I wanted a name more based around the island aspect than the theme aspect in case I wanted to change my theme later or just not have an overall theme. I'm normally awful at naming but I really love Driftwood.

I named my island Daguerreo, because Final Fantasy IX is one of my favorite games of all time and Daguerreo is my favorite city/town/area in the game.
