I totally would!
I change my outfit all the time, not to be exactly like me, but I also like to express myself with the clothing items in the game because I myself don’t have those clothes in real life. Like the baggy hoodies? Have always wanted to wear it like it but they look so bad on me, but I’m so happy other people can wear that and call it a day! Awesome! Formal blazers? Ooh they are nice but don’t want to look too old so we need to find the right one.
And then I also love being able to get designs from people, some people just do such an amazing job and really work hard on something I used to think was simple. Not so simple at all and applaud all that make custom designs in AC!
Anyway, rambling, I love wearing the long dresses, especially period pieces because they are just so gorgeous.
So yes, I would wear just about anything my character wears in real life whether it be every day, event, as a joke, or what. And of course there would be some limitations doi, but my wardrobe is hecking full of “real wear” anyhow.
Definitely! My island rep always looks way more put together than I do on an average day. It's a lot easier (and way less stressful) to plop pieces on and off/mix-and-match in-game. I pick out clothes I like and would personally wear, so it's no question that I'd wear them irl.
Probably not! A lot of the costumes I put my rep in look cute, but I imagine they'd be very uncomfortable especially for someone running around an island all day. And usually I'm just in a random mismatched outfit because I accidentally click that I want to change into the clothes I just bought at the Able Sister's dressing room.
Sometimes, definitely! ^^ Most of the casual outfits I put my rep in are totally my style—to the extent that I might use some of them as reference points the next time I go on a serious thrifting trip. Same deal with the more formal/business-y suit outfits I like doing.
Then there's the more historical/fantasy, costume-y clothes I love to put my rep in—a lot of these are also things I'd wear in real life if I had the chance to be honest, but things along those lines tend to be expensive and difficult to come by in reasonable quality. ;v; So I consider them to be a bit less attainable.
The only ones I don't see myself wearing in real life are the super froofy frilly dresses. I love these to bits, don't get me wrong, but actual dresses like that tend to be hecka expensive if they're any good, and then I'd just be too nervous about ruining them somehow to ever actually wear them. I love seeing them on other people, but when it comes to me I'd only really wear them in video games.
yeah!! my rep typically wears a jumper, jeans and some trainers. i wear that basically on the daily ! comfy stuff my rep also wears some star boppers (will get the other variants soon ;D) which are something i reckon i could look amazing in
None of my player characters are meant to be me, they all have their own wardrobes with different preferences (although there are some things that they all have), and unless I'm in a rush and/or concentrating on something else I like to change their outfits each day I play.
That said, there are some quite nice combinations possible in the game that make it a definite yes.
I definitely would lol, he mostly wears grungy femboy stuff, and I dress pretty similar irl
Would also love to have lavender hair like him, but my hair is super dark and I've had trouble getting it to go that light lol
I have always wanted to dye my hair pink, or at least put a pink streak in it, but I need to interview for new jobs sometime soon and I'm not sure it that would help or hurt in my field.
I cannot handle wearing dresses and flats / heels, though. My character is a fantastical pixie and irl I'm just a lazy slob in a ponytail, oversized tshirt / hoodie, basketball shorts, and sneakers. I have to be prepared to walk a lot and very quickly. It would be fun to edit this post with a photo of my ac rep as herself and as my real life self sometime later!
