I ended up resetting more than ten times because I didn't want oranges as my native fruit again like in NL. Ended up with apples, which I'm content with really. c:
I did, I got an airport color I didn't like and wanted pears or peaches. Also wanted the airport off to the side the most possible and the "town hall" area close and to the south. I settled on the fifth map. Had I known about native flowers I may have reset more.
Nah, maps can be changed by terraforming later on (and I've never really been someone spending a lot of time on designing a perfect-looking town anyway), I'd be fine with mostly any villagers and I didn't mind what fruit I got. (And my airport color being blue, my favorite of the options, is just a bonus x3)
I kind of HAVE to now. I accidently deleted my game, and have to start all over. Now the do another day or two of resetting just to get a good start. At the very least I can set the time back to be last Friday (the 20th)
I restarted twice before I got what I could like. I was really looking for teal airport and apples or oranges with an east outlet. First was east outlet with blue airport and apples. Second try only gave me south or west outlets. Third and final time was green airport and oranges with east outlet.
No reason to reset, imo.
You can edit your island in it's entirety later on, plus move houses. Only thing I could possibly imagine people resetting for would be airport color, but that's so very minor. xD
5 minutes ago, I found out I sold the sombrero I got from Gulliver, my first thought was to reset. But then I decided it's not worth it. Not for an item, even if I can't reorder it.
I was planning on resetting until I got an island with oranges, but then I got my favorite villager (Teddy) on my very first island. So I ended up staying with that and not resetting after all.
Sometimes I wish I had reset, though. My island has so many cliffs compared to my friend, whose island is mostly flat! I can't wait until I unlock terraforming.
I didn't reset, and I don't regret anything. My island's far from how I want it to be and I didn't even get the fruit I really wanted, but I'm totally in love with it anyway.
When I played New Leaf for the first time I didn't reset either. I didn't even know there was the option to look at other maps. I accepted the first map I saw and ended up absolutely loving that town. Sometimes, knowing that there are "better" options out there kinda ruins the fun..
I reset earlier today at day 6. It was a hard decision but the things I disliked about my previous island were permanent like airport color, residential services location, etc..
I did not want to get hung up on but if I was considering resetting, I better do it NOW.
.... AND I'M SO HAPPY I DID
My new island is just awesome. I yelled out in excitement when I finally saw the airport. I'm not sure what my native flowers are on the new island yet. Took 2 hours of resetting this afternoon.
Yes, I reset. It was so hard to do because I had gotten Bob and Lolly to move in, but I'm so happy I did. I just didn't "feel" the first island... little rocks and stuff bothered me. I absolutely love my new one and don't regret it one bit (plus I snagged Beau, Skye and Rosie in the process)!
