pet peeves / lil stuff you cant stand

People who tell others to "educate themselves" when they strongly disagree with them. It has to be one of the most condescending things to say to someone rather than maturely agree to disagree and just move on from the topic being discussed/argued.
Most of the time, the types of people who use that phrase are the uneducated lol.

that basically sums up the whole "woke education" community and yeah they are dip****s.

so yeah i agree 100%

- Food that has someone elses hair on it. Makes me nauseous just thinking about it
- People that interrupt another mid sentence
- Wet socks
- People always trying to be right about everything
- Certain sounds like, nails on a chalkboard, teeth clinking together, stuff like that
- People always seeking attention for literally anything and everything
- Smell of cigarettes
- People pushing you out of the way or brushing past you without acknowledging you or simply saying "Excuse me" or "Sorry"
- People that make up and spread rumors

I have many more, but this is probably more than enough. Basically, any behaviour anyone exhibits where they doesn't treat me or another person like a human being with feelings would be a pet peeve of mine. Literally costs nothing to be a decent human being and takes waaay more energy than needed to be a pos person. Just sayin'.

When companies use memes in or as their ads. You're not hip or cool or connecting with young people. You look like a middle aged parent dressing like a teenager.

This so much. I remember public transport here using doge meme advertising their ticket types or whatever and it was so cringe like a) they're expensive as **** already and b) people are forced to use you you don't need to advertise. 🤦‍♀️

Also, people using "ableist" when they disagree or don't like using a certain term.

Normally I’d post something small like this in the “what’s bothering you” thread, but this is one of my bigger pet peeves: I hate when people dodge questions or ignore questions when responding to you. You could ask someone how their day was for example, and they ignore it but say something else in the process.

An example of this would be…
Person 1: How was work?
Person 2: Just got back, I’m eating.
…or something along those lines.

I’m not sure if I’d rather them not respond at all or ignore parts of the question. I also don’t know how to respond in this situation. Like, would I just ask the question again or let it go?

When people ask me to repeat something that they said.

Them: "Don't forget to drop by the store and pick up some milk; Now what did I say?"

Me: "Remember to buy some milk from the store."

Them: "That's not what I said!"

Me *Internal screaming*

People who correct you on every little thing, even though they understand what you're saying perfectly.

Me: Persona 5 is such a fun rpg!
Them: *ahem* actually, it's a jprg.

Why be such a buzzkill?
Ugh yeah I hate that, or just people who mark words or stuff in general. If someone is that sadistic just stfu really.

Also, people who turn a serious conversation into some anti/dad joke burst-out like...I say that opinion cause I feel like you need perspective on stuff not for you to make bad joke or be joker about it.

It bothers me a lot when you see reblogs of those tumblr posts of people's sob stories, begging for money. I'm not talking about people offering art for money, I mean those who do nothing but plead for money. Whether the story they tell is real or not is a whole other problem. Everyone struggles here and there, I get that, but to do nothing but beg strangers for money is no better than those people harrassing others out on the street.

I may sound heartless but if I were in their shoes, I know I wouldn't be harrassing strangers online. Offer something in exchange, you don't get something from nothing. I'm not giving anyone money to pay for their car or rent. For all I know, it's really for them to afford the newest phone or video game.

Even so, you can’t believe everything someone says online. I barely believe anything someone says online. Those types of people prey on innocent people who have a heart, giving to those in need. Some of them don’t even need it and everything is, at least, somewhat exaggerated.

Oh 100%. They'll usually post some sort of vet bill or rent sheet as proof but they could've photoshopped that easily.

It's like those 'homeless' people you see holding up cardboard signs, wandering (usually with a limp) around intersections. They're not actually homeless. There's been several videos of people following them to a nice fancy car for them to drive home in after their 'shift.'. It's so unfortunate people fake it when there are actual homeless people.

I see these types of posts far too often now. Like is there any accountability to the GoFundMe? I feel like I could go on there and make some crazy claim and get away with everyone's money. How many of those people are actually legitimate and need the funds for a serious injury or their home just burned down.

I remember when I used to use Twitter, to keep in touch with friends, they would constantly retweet posts about their followers needing money. One of them was something like 'I have anxiety. I have asthma. Give me money.'

I have asthma to and I sometimes have anxiety, but I have to work to make money. It doesn't give you a free pass unless you can sucker in a bunch of fools to pay for your lifestyle. And even if I could, I wouldn't feel right doing that.

I actually saw a GoFundMe for someone to buy a hamster, its food, and a cage. Like what? Earn that yourself. These posts link to people's kofi now or an email address for paypal. It's pathetic, if you ask me.
Waking up early and going to work everyday sucks, yeah, but everyone needs to. Nobody is special enough to laze around and do nothing but still make bank. You gotta work for it.

I don’t like it when people ghost me whenever I ask them a serious question. If you don’t want to talk about something just say it.

King of the Hill dedicated an entire episode to these types of people. I'm sure plenty of shows have, but it's the one that always comes to mind. Like you said, it's a shame that there are people out there that really could use the help, but because of people preying on someone's kindness others may be less inclined to help others when they may really need it. I don't know how people like that can look themselves in the mirror and not see themselves for what they truly are.

I also do remember some GoFundMes or maybe it was just people on Twitter begging for things like games and the such. There was even one for PS5. Because of the emotional stress trying to find one or something like that lol.

I don't know how people don't have shame either. I like to believe in karma to make myself less angry about it.
I actually just saw a video on some streamer who was recording live and his house caught on fire and they lost everything. Now see, that is something I would donate to. Not some kid coming up with a sob story for spending money.

I’d say my biggest pet peeve is not being replied to in general. Whether it’s a text, a message on a social media platform of any kind, an email. Just…reply. I don’t care if it says that you don’t want to reply, just say that then. I just find in incredibly inconsiderate to not give ANY reply. In case it’s not obvious, I’m talking about your general day to day interactions. This does NOT include a situation of a toxic or dangerous nature. By all means, please don’t reply if that is the situation.

Unless it's that guy who lit a Pikachu in his house.

Yeah that's annoying. I used to have friends who would agree to do things, but when it came to the day of they went radio silent. Then they'd play the world's smallest violin about how no one ever wants to do anything with them.

Yeah, same here, I used to have a friend that would make plans and then just not be around. Needless to say, I stopped being friends with her. It’s just a respect thing.
