Pokémon Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet General Discussion

Can I just say...I'm annoyed that we still don't have the Slowbro/Slowking shell as an actual standalone Pokemon yet. - Was just reminded of this by the dex entry in Violet, (same entry they've used in many of the other games)...where it says that the shell can be knocked off in battle and Slowbro will return to being a normal Slowpoke if that happens. - What this neglects to mention, is what happens to the new Shelder form after it gets knocked off. Surely it just stays the way it looked when it evolved on the Slowpoke's tail...which means it should have its own form.

This is maddening. Lol.

Y'all literally gave us weird divergent evolutions of things like Wiglet and Toadscool before you retconned Spiky Shelder. If it was ever going to be done, this would have been the game to do it in. But, no. Smh.
I’m honestly also so surprised they never made a regional variant where slowpoke gets bitten by something else

I just want to know what the scrapped Magikarp convergent would have looked like. Btw what I mean by "convergent" are the similar but not related mons: Toedscool line and Wiglett line. The Toedscool line's ingame code is OKAKINGU and OKAGYARADOSU, which means that they replaced a convergent Magikarp and Gyarados.

First time hearing about the Magikarp stuff.

Wonder if the design will eventually be leaked...or maybe even officially added in a future game. - There is a lot that could be done with both Magikarp and Gyarados. - I watched a youtuber one time who created a flying type Magikarp that looked like a traditional Japanese kite...and the evolved form looked like one of those dragon puppets that are used at Chinese street parades. - I really liked both of those conceptually.

Well...I've mostly done all I can do with my Violet dex for now.

Eventually, I need to either buy Scarlet, or do some trading to get those exclusives.

I really can't stress enough how much I hate GTS being exclusive to the mobile version of Home.

Do you need Scarlet exclusives? I could help you out with them sometime.

5 Star Blissey raids of various Tera types will begin Mar 24-26. There will be an increased amount of Exp. Candy and Tera shards for completing them.

Is it just me or do I feel apathetic toward the S/V DLC? Don't get me wrong, I still preordered it but now that I feel like that they can make a complete game, I feel that maybe I should skip Gen 10 if this the direction they'll continue to take. All these glitches and bugs make me sad of Pokemon's current state. The save data bug is another reason I haven't gone online yet. If I find my save file wiped I may just walk away...

I’m saving money to buy the DLC. I have until October and I just spent $100 to get the Nintendo eShop Vouchers to preorder Tears of the Kingdom and to buy Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

I haven't purchased the DLC, nor do I have any plans to. I really dislike the recent trend of releasing a half-finished game and then adding the rest via paid DLC a bit later. It's not something that I want to support.

Maybe if they start letting us back up our games at the very least I'll consider paying, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. This method (sadly) seems to be working for them.

I also haven't bought the DLC. I will eventually...but not until I feel like it makes sense.

Main game wasn't bad...I didn't have nearly as many issues with glitches or complaints in general that most people seemed to have. BUT...I still hate that there are so many "quality of life" things that could be fixed or avoided and simply weren't. - I've already aired my grievances in regards to the Pokedex size and delay of Pokemon Home, and other things...but these remain my core complaints.

That said, I still logged more hours in Violet than I did in Arceus. So, that must count for something. And I did enjoy Arceus. So...it's not like I put that down early and never touched it again. - As things stand, I have about 90 hours in Violet. Which is...fine, I guess. But also a far cry from the days when I would have like 450 hours in something like Emerald.

I've been replaying all of the old games, and I clocked about 100 hours in Crystal before I moved on. And that wasn't my OG file. It was something I did recently. I just naturally put so much time into the older games that I don't feel the drive to in the newer ones. I did play a LOT in my Moon Version, but that was also because it was during a time in my life when I had more reason to play and people to play with directly. Aside from that, I haven't put tons and tons of time into a current Pokemon game since Platinum.

Next 7 Star Tera raid is Bug tera Samurott! I'm guessing because of its move Megahorn? The event runs from March 31 - April 2 and again from April 7 - 9.

On a side note...first Decidueye and now Samurott...if the pattern continues the next after Samurott is probably Typhlosion.

A new Gamestop event for the US has been announced. From March 31 you will get the chance to get a code for a Flying tera Lechonk. My sympathesies for all American players.

My local GameStop stores are actually relatively easy for me to get to. I plan on getting the Lechonk before I go visit my aunt in California next week.

Why do that when you can get one ingame in only a few minutes?

I was planning on going there to get some things like eShop cards and maybe an Amiibo that I’ve been wanting but had a hard time locating locally and it is there by chance. The one GameStop does this a lot when it comes to Amiibo availability.
