Here's my entry! I made this egg as a love letter to this forum, to some of my favourite collectible eggs and to Easter in general. I wanted to upload a gif so that the stars I drilled in the back and the Celeste cutout are more visibe. Sorry for the bad gif quality - the file was way too large and I had to drop the quality to be able to upload it. |
I CANNOTTTTT. OMG this is the literal greatest thing ever and I read it all in the correct voice. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. This made my day. Well. Done.Thy Holy Hand Grenegg of Antioch

"O Lord, bless this thy hand grenegg, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenegg of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."
This is so beautiful, I'm in awe of the patience that went into this!Celeste Galaxy Zen Egg

Materials used:
Plastic egg
Gouache and Acrylic paint
pearl beads
dried and dyed baby's breath
tiny drill bit
my sanity
Name card:
Process:
First I used a drill to drill holes into the back of the egg for the stars. I then sketched Celeste and the branch and drilled around it. This took a lot of practice and I broke three or four eggs before succeeding.
Painting the egg was really challenging - the curve of the egg made it feel very foreign. The paint didn't stick to the inside of the egg and chipped off - so I had to go back in with a tiny brush and darken it again while trying not to get any dark paint on the finished Celeste TuT
I love to dry flowers and still had some white baby's breath from my wedding, so I dyed a few blossoms with gouache.
Thank you Jacob! I appreciate it!This is so beautiful, I'm in awe of the patience that went into this!
I can't say I've ever seen anyone paint the inside of an egg before!
I really wish I could love this more than once It is absolutely stunning and I know the love, sweat, toil and tears that went into it. Amazing and gorgeous I have honestly never seen anything like it (I may also have it as my screensaver )Celeste Galaxy Zen Egg
