The Anime Thread

Ave Mujica episode 3 is here... Mutsumi needs a break. i cannot even describe this... this anime was more torturous than i initially anticipated, somehow. i would say it is implied now that Mutsumi has Dissociative Identity Disorder. I wish for no more Mutsumi torture in episode 4.

So you wouldn't recommend it?

I was able to get a hold of more Lupin the Third on dvd or Blu-ray. Fujiko's Lie, Alcatraz Connection, The Hemmingway Papers, and The Last Job. I haven't seen any of these. I'm looking for movies or TV specials with the vibe of the part 2 series.

At one point I thought I could try to get a hold of all of these. That was before I knew how many there are, or that there are some that are more existential, edgy, or gory. Some are also unreleased, or out of print.

Would someone be able to help me pick another title to aim for if I list some I don't have?

Up to episode 45 of Fairy Tail now, I believe I only have 3 or 4 episodes left in season one. Which is weird to be honest because the season splits for this series seem REALLY inconsistent with what's on Crunchyroll and what's on Wikipedia. Wikipedia says season one ends after 48 episodes, but Crunchyroll has season one listed as 175 episodes total. Oh well, at least I can be fairly certain that episode 48 is the end to the current arc.

Interested to find out how the battle with Laxus and his personal guard in Fairy Tail goes, and can't wait to see what comes after that!

Been watching a anime on Crunchyroll called The Tales of Outcasts. It is soo good. It’s mainly a demon human contract style but the story and the bonds between the characters is what is doing it for me.

i am back to report !

the apothecary diaries season 2 came out and i've been watching that, really excited for it hehe
i'm also watching a playthrough of a certain dude's vrmmo life, honestly just a casual watch since the pacing is kind of slow? don't know how to properly explain it

i finished the royal tutor and it was pretty good! i loved how silly it was, especially with the chibis

Just finished the anime I was watching so now I am rewatching Hakuoki. I remember it being good and I loved the games so hopefully it will be as good as I remember.

I'm up to episode 53 of Fairy Tail now and it seems after a couple of episodes of filler that the next true arc is finally starting. Interested to find out how this alliance goes for Fairy Tail, and I do feel like Wendy will be an important character as the series goes on...

How is the pacing compared to another shonen?

How is the pacing compared to another shonen?

The pacing is fine and is actually better than some other shonen I've watched. Haven't seen too much filler yet either, the show does a pretty good job of showing what it wants to show. I'd say Naruto is definitely a worse offender in that regard, lol.

You have lots of interesting stuff to look forward to. I'm caught up and can't wait for it to resume in April.
Yeah! I really enjoy watching it and it doesn't matter to me if I start watching again at a later date. I never feel like I've been out of it so long that I'm lost. I really love the show, but I can't lie some of the portrayal of villains or just despicable people is borderline comical.

'Hohoho I'm so evil, I kick kittens, eat puppies for breakfast, and drink out of the miiiilk carton! What are you gonna do about it? Huh!? I leave lights on when I exit rooms because energy conservation be damned!'

OMG AVEMUJI MENTIONED I was just about to post about it here too.....

I love love LOVE AveMygo so much, words cannot describe how much I recommend it to people who want a twist from a slice-of-life drama anime to a rather psychological horror anime. It's not scary in the supernatural sense, but especially with AveMuji it's so...... unnerving.

I've been reading how the writing for Mutsumi's DID is well done, like how it breaks down what DID is without it being some sort of lecture. Mortis and Mutsumi speak in the headspace, Mortis fronts to protect Mutsumi, and Mortis just overall is a completely different people like being unable to play the guitar and referencing people differently. The way Sakiko's face completely changes after realizing she wasn't speaking to Mutsumi anymore (since Mutsumi doesn't call her Sakiko-chan) was SO GOOD. I got goosebumps with their conversation. Even the argument between them at the hotel room gave me shivers. Kinda sad the translation says "split personality" which I've read from others is a gross misinterpretation for people with DID, but asides from that, the DID theory is pretty much confirmed/canon.

Also some are saying Mortis' crashout isn't 'just a tantrum' but some way of manipulation..... I haven't read into it fully but it seemed like an interesting theory.

Also Uika... UIKA... the woman that you are. I'm personally still theorizing she has BPD, she has a very unstable sense of self-image with the way she copies others especially in the hopes of winning over Sakiko. Copying the half-donuts, copying the crossed fingers... Uika who even ARE you. And the way she even talks to Sakiko, Uika literally wants her world to revolve around Sakiko to the point where it may be unhealthy. Her reaction to finding out Sakiko is concerned with Mustumi, and her disappointment when Mortis calls her out for not being able to protect Sakiko.... oh my god the signs are aligning. I could definitely still be wrong about Uika having BPD, but if it's not BPD I'm sure there is just something more.

Doloris "weaver of lies" Uika who ARE you.

(also if I do say something wrong about these psychiatric diseases please let me know so I can correct myself! it's never my intention to hurt anyone.)

I've been wanting to get a hold of some Nanbaka. It looks like a comedy about pretty boys in prison. The best price is on the crunchyroll store. They got hacked and their passwords leaked again. Maybe change your password if you can, this guy was having issues with that.

Up to episode 56 of Fairy Tail now and still really loving it! Interested to find out how the alliance plans to defeat Oracion Seis's crew, they look incredibly strong so far. Also interesting how Jellal was resurrected, I'm curious to see where that goes.
