The Official WWE Thread

WWE has gotten so ridiculous since the "Wild Card Rule" happened. It's not that enjoyable to watch anymore.

Yes they completely killed the brand split plus a lot of he writing/booking just doesn't seem to make sense anymore. Used to tune in on both shows but now it's just not worth my time :/

You know what though I saw big things for this group and was very excited about their main roster debut. It's such a shame they decided to kill them. :(

Just want to say besides Kofi Kingston finally winning the WWE Championship, 2019 has been the most boring, uneventful year for the WWE. Funny how back in the day, everyone blamed John Cena for killing the WWE. Nowadays he makes less appearances than The Undertaker.

more 90s wrestling? yuuuuuup!

WCW Rip. I was there from the nitro years till the y2k end days. As for WWF (E), I was there to witness the attitude era in its prime lol. I also remember the N64 wrestling games were pretty legit back then.

WWFE was entertaining back in the '90s and early-to-mid '00s (WCW too). I stopped watching it sometime around 2002-05, but sporadically tuned in a couple of times throughout the 2010s. Can't say I really enjoyed what I saw then. Apparently, wrestling became watered down (in part due to the Chris Benoit tragedy?) and many of the classic wrestlers from when I watched wrestling were no longer there. Unfortunate, but at least some of the old shows are still available to watch on some streaming services.

I want to try bumping this up since I'm active again and the WWE product in particular is on a hot streak these days. 😮‍💨

With that being said, I missed most of Smackdown and I'm trying so hard to dodge spoilers before I can watch it on Hulu in the morning.

There's too much pro wrestling for me right now. I'm glad Raw will be switching back to two hours soon.

I can't do Raw, NXT, AEW Dynamite, AEW Collision, Smackdown + all the PPV's. It's way too much. I'm not a hardcore fan so I'm lucky enough if I can get into the mood to sit through an episode of Raw.

Yeah that's plenty of wrestling to watch throughout the week its actually overwhelming if you want to watch it all lol. A week that includes a PPV and all of the shows you mentioned above is about half a day. 😮‍💨

I generally just stick with Raw and SD and read the NXT/AEW results. If something catches my eye upon reading, I'll go back and rewatch the segment/match.

The Netflix move will make things much easier. I don't have cable so the only alternative to watching WWE is finding an online streaming service. Those are unreliable.

I'm considering watching NXT. I haven't tried it and also might make for a breath of fresh air.

I also didn't mention Rampage and AEW now hosting Ring of Honor. When they introduced Ring of Honor onto Dynamite it kinda turned me away from the product.

It's overwhelming.

I cannot wait for RAW to hit Netflix, that first show is going to be amazing I know they're gonna go all out! I wonder where the venue will be for that one.. I'm guessing somewhere big like MSG. 🤔

With AEW, yeah there's waaaaaay too much going on with cross-promotion and all of the belts. It's really cool what they're doing, but if you don't keep up regularly you can fall behind pretty quick.

My first ever live WWE show I attended was at MSG.

I want to see Cena's last run. I can't miss it. He was my favorite childhood wrestler. (along with undertaker).

That's dope! Was it a live event/PPV/taped show??

But yes I definitely have to go to see Cena once on his farewell tour. I'm in the majority that fell off the Cena wagon in the mid-2000s and moreso when he was going up against guys like Rollins/Wyatt/Owens in the early to mid 2010's, but the absence has definitely made the heart grow fonder and it's gonna be sad when he finally hangs it up.

How did John Studd survive this? Omg 😱 (Never knew Andre got up high like that!)
GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY THAT KILLED HIM!!!
AS GOD AS MY WITNESS THAT MAN IS BROKEN IN HALF!!

(but maaaaaan that must've been hard on Andre's knees that's wild)

Don't let the 3 hours overwhelm you, because Raw is definitely a banger from start to finish, week after week. Raw is the one you can't miss if you want to hear it from me. The Wyatt Sicks vs American Made has been a fantastic fued. I'm so happy to see Bo carrying on what his brother started. I'm also happy they are finally using Erick Rowan, especially after all he's been through. Bron Breakker is also someone who's really caught my attention. I haven't been keeping track of AEW or NXT, and Smackdown's been alright but becoming repetitive (hard to admit since I've always been a Smackdown fan since I started watching.) As far as the PPVs go, they are also fire. Even the Bash in Berlin PPV in Germany was a hell of a lot better than I thought it'd be. The strap match between Punk and McIntyre was the best though, it was both brutal and fun. Punk has definitely proven he's still got it. Can't wait for Hell in a Cell.

Honestly, WWE is a lot better with Triple H running the show. I was at my first wrestlemania this year with my family at Philidelphia, night 2. It was insane, especially the end. It's a night I'll never forget.

@Javocado It was the MSG yearly Christmas Special (house show). The most memorable part was Kevin Owens vs Edge. It was a great match that unfortunately never happened on TV.

I grew up in the heart of the PG Era (with some memories of the ruthless aggression era). I watched the Shawn vs Taker Mania matches live on TV and I'm so glad for that. My brother purchased the PPV's and that cemented me as a fan forever.

@Dim I haven't gotten to see a WrestleMania live. Although I did attend AEW All In a couple weeks ago at Wembley Stadium. I've attended an indie show, (met Ron Simmons of the APA) MSG house show, raw, dynamite, collision, and now All In.

Will try to catch Raw tonight. I've enjoyed what I've seen so far of it. I'm just not a weekly follower unfortunately. I do catch the PPV's tho
