The Official WWE Thread

OK so not technically a WWE wrestler (though he is in the Hall of Fame), but Jushin Liger’s first theme is so fun and upbeat. It sounds like an old-school anime opening…wasn’t there an anime about him. (Or did the anime come first? I think it might have.)

Wrestlers my dad says he saw in person, as he went twice— once before I was born, and once when I was little:

—Mr. Wonderful
—Hulk Hogan
—A tag team of lumberjacks? He couldn’t remember their names. They were fighting a tag team of Black guys and my dad said at one point it felt racist.
—The Wolf Pack (WCW) (At first he thought he saw the Big Show but I looked it up and it was Kevin Nash. Still a tall guy.)
—Scott Steiner
—Bobby Heenan (a manager, but you know)
—Ric Flair
—Buff Bagwell
—Chris Jericho

I mean, I knew he’d gone once in the early 90s, but not about the WCW stuff. Obviously I was too little to go lol.
He said that seeing how dressed up the fans got was just as entertaining as the matches.
OK so my dad told me more about the story when he saw Mr. Wonderful and Bobby Heenan at the airport. (I knew he got their autographs, but Idk how.) He said they were waiting at a counter and stood out— as Mr. Wonderful was big and muscular, and Bobby had bright blonde hair. He said they didn’t say much (so as not to attract attention) but signed my dad’s paper.

So that was the full story. Before that, I knew he saw a wrestler at the airport, but for some reason I thought it was Big Show lol. But no…he got TWO for the price of one.

Yeah so I've been burnt out on wrestling the past few weeks, but Raw was amazing this week. That Rollins and Punk promo was soooo intense. What a way too end the Raw before Netflix. I can't wait until January 6th!

OK, so Idk why my dumb brain thought of this, BUT I don't have the Scrooge, Cratchit, or Tiny Tim lol.

Miss Elizabeth as Ghost of Christmas Past

Andre the Giant as Ghost of Christmas Present

The Undertaker as Ghost of Christmas Future

Junkyard Dog as Jacob Marley (the chains)
Rey Mysterio as a masked Tiny Tim 😂

Leave my big goth daddy alone omg.

Random wrestling thoughts throughout the week:

Saw a Netflix Raw meme that Hulk Hogan probably told Jimmy Hart they were booing HIM backstage for waving the flag. 😂 Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened.

Also, glad to see Macaulay Culkin in the crowd!

I saw that Fred Ottman (Typhoon, Tugboat, and Shockmaster) is in the hospital with some infections…hope he feels better soon!

Piper Niven, I love you, but please stop responding to every troll on Twitter. They’re not worth it. A lot of these losers go after her appearance, even though she looks like she stepped out of a Renaissance painting. 😍 I hope none of these trolls are getting to her head.

You know, I was thinking…this Netflix Raw happened at JUST the right time. It happened right before the fires started near where it was (Inglewood, CA). It could have been a disaster.

I was at an episode of AEW Dynamite and they filmed Rampage then Ring of Honor. I was one of the last people sitting on the ground floor who hadn't left by midnight. Penta was having a Ring of Honor match.

After the match, he looked directly at me and gave me a friendly hand gesture. I gave it back.

One of my favorite moments.

That sounds awesome! Love hearing about wrestlers who appreciate their fans.

I was on Penta’s Wikipedia page and it says his real name and private life is unknown. (Apparently most luchadors don’t reveal their personal lives.) I think it’s pretty cool and it would be cool if some American wrestlers did that, but my nosy self would get restless lol.

So who do yall think is winning the Rumble?? 👀

I honestly think it's gonna be Cena or Roman and who ever doesn't win will probably win their match at the Chamber. Punk can also win and Rollins earn a shot at Gunther at the Chamber and wins the title so we get Rollins vs Punk for the title at Mania. There's also Paul Heyman's "favor" to Punk that might come into play too. 🤔

There's honestly so many possibilities here and I haven't even mentioned THE ROCK. Everything is pretty much in limbo and hinges on if he works Wrestlemania or not. I've seen people say he can use his TKO power to enter the Rumble at #31 and face Cody, but after how RAW in LA went down, even if they went that route, it has lost a lot of steam for me after they seemingly squashed their beef with some tequila???? Even if they go that route, it's not gonna have as much momentum as it did before. 😭

I agree that John Cena or Roman Reigns feel the most likely. If it had to be one of them I'd honestly prefer Roman because I'm still burned out on lolCenaWins after his reign of terror over the years under Vince's rule, but Cena has more momentum with this being his last go-round before he hangs up the sneakers. I kinda wish Punk would win because of his whole thing about it being a dream of his and how everything fell apart with his tricep injury last year, but eh, with his favor from Paul Heyman he doesn't really need the win and, if it was going to happen, it should've been last year. Looking forward to watching the Rumble, though, whoever ends up winning.

Random tangent, I saw a YouTube short yesterday of Tama Tonga doing his Yeyeyeyeyeyeye Yeyeyeyeyeye yapping and I'm enjoying it greatly, haha. I know I'm late to the party in that regard, but since I just keep up with things through YouTube clips of the shows and then watching the PPVs, it's still kinda fresh to me, haha. I look forward to seeing what they have planned for the Samoan Werewolf and, uh, the Tongan Hyena (I guess that's what I'll call him lol?) now that (🙏 I love you) Solo lost the Tribal Chief title to Roman on the Netflix debut and Jacob and Tama seem to have broken off on their own.

I like how they're keeping us guessing, making things interesting and having more discussions on social media. Anything could happen~

There's been plenty of times when I thought Cena should've put people over and I've gotten annoyed by it at times but now that he's winding down, I can't help it.. I already know I'm gonna miss him. 😭 I even got the damn Netflix/Intuit Dome/Dodgers shirt I had to do it hahaha

But honestly yes if I could pick anyone to win the Rumble this year it would probably be Punk because as you mentioned it is his dream and he's never won one. This Rumble is going to be so stacked I can't wait for it to be here already!

And since you're bringing up the New Bloodline, I thought I would mention that the "I Love You Solo" was very over with the crowd when I went, everyone was just screaming it in the hallways and in line at random points. :ROFLMAO: Tama and Jacob running around with no leader is fun, they should keep Solo out for a little while and let them do their thing. Even Tonga Loa is so bad it's good to me LOL I love Bloodline 2.0.

Yeah everything is so up in the air I honestly have no idea what's gonna happen and I love it, it's the perfect lil' recipe for Wrestlemania szn 👨‍🍳

The Women's Rumble seems a bit more predictable. They don't have X-Factors IMO like Rock and Punk and Rollins, but I still see it ending up like my Men's Rumble prediction. Either a returning Becky or Charlotte will win the Rumble and whoever loses it will probably win the Chamber to set-up facing Rhea or Tiffy Time ✨⏰
