Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.
I mentioned those three names as a, hey, these are the people I'm actively watching. It certainly wasn't intended to be subtle! If I need to say it louder: HEY DANIEL, NESS, AND TRENT - I'm paying extra special care to your posts!
My backup strategy for if I get kinged is to come out swinging with questions to see if anyone slips up by saying something that doesn't match up with their past posts. So both my strategies kinda go hand in hand.
I'm not going to pretend I've put too much thought into it. Your name likely didn't stick in my head because I didn't get any impression from your posts that you were encouraging the silliness as much / trying to be strategic with your posts.
So, if you voted Arstotzkan as a joke, are you going to unvote them before you go to work? I wouldn't want to leave for work leaving the game with only a joke vote.
Ness's very quick and confident read on Chris is making me think he's town. I don't think he would tunnel so hard as mafia this early and based on one post

what do you mean by this? like kill them with king power or vote them for king?
as for electing a king i think i’ve settled on trent the paladin for having unique positions on the game. again i’ve only skimmed a bit on what ive missed so if someone could update me if there was anything important that would be appreciated.
i’m sorry i might have to drop out coz i’ve been too busy irl to do much here :’)

what’s your position on electing someone potentially maffy into power?
i don’t think it’s entirely a bad idea because it puts the mafia in a weird position— if they make a bad king kill choice they’ll be subject to accusations tomorrow, where as killing their partner is bad in the long run.
i’m not saying that i want to do that d1, but in the future would you think that’s a bad idea?

I would not elect someone I think could be mafia. Intentionally giving mafia the only kill town can perform sounds like a bad play. I think it would be even worse to do this past D1

do we know the ratio of mafia to town? i’m also not sure why you think it’s worse past d1. tomorrow we also will supposedly have reports to go off of, which i suppose would make it worse to go outside of those?
i’ve only used that strategy when there’s a good ratio of town to mafia (i.e: only one left). the more i think about it you’re right, but if we voted out a decent amount of mafia i still don’t think it’s a bad idea.
i hope there’s a vig or something too. because one misleaded king could really mess things up.

past d1 i dont think this strat is viable as the crowned mafia will have much more content to create a case for whoever they want to kill
d1 is not as bad bc there is less content - although the thread is getting spicy and it keeps looking like an worse and worse idea with each new post

Ignoring a potential third party, I'd say there would be 3 mafia. 4 sounds a little too much.
The further we are into the game, the less players there will be and the ratio of town:mafia tightens. This makes kills much more important and giving those kills to mafia is not a good idea. A town king may kill mafia by pure luck, but a mafia king would never kill mafia.
As you say, a misled king could really mess things up, and a mafia king would definitely do that.
actually this is kind of off topic but before i run out the door i think we should coordinate our votes to prevent forcing a no elect of having potentially 3 mafias vote themselves into power, so unless anyone else would vote trent with me i’ll have to reconsider again lol
Let's run the numbers for the worst case scenario. Assuming the king kills town each time and mafia successfully kills another person (no doctor, and king and mafia don't target the same person) here's how many miskills we have.
11 Town:3 Mafia-
D1 11:3
D2 9:3
D3 7:3
D4 5:3
D5 3:3 - Lose
With 3 mafia, town loses if they fail to hit mafia D4.
10 Town:4 Mafia-
D1 10:4
D2 8:4
D3: 6: 4
D4 4:4
With 4 mafia, town loses if they fail to hit mafia D3.
I think balance wise there would be 3 mafia. Given that mafia can get control over the king kill, I think 4 chances are better than 3
no. in later posts i explained why i dont think alignment is a priority in choosing king
at this point i was just thinking dan would have a unique kill choice, hence "fun"
imo think it does matter a bit because it does allow mafia to kill town but i can see where you're coming from tbh since if mafia gets it, it puts them in a position where if they do kill a town it potentially looks bad for them so kinda risky, but usually it's hard to tell if they kill someone in the consensus process of elimination pool so eh
anyway I think I do believe what you're saying tbh so I'm gonna say it's not alignment indicative for you
Is there a particular reason why you specifically pointed out shiny and me on our thoughts as king? Other players have expressed their desires on wanting/not wanting to be king, so interested to hear if you think their motives are innocent or not
ah that's just because I was reading from the start of the thread so didn't get to commenting on later posts yet, gonna go through and post thoughts on later posts now
I have my retail shift until EOD unfortunately so I won't be too active the rest of the day. Once again I'd persuade you all to consider me for king but it doesn't seem like that's happening. Anyone want to lobby for my final vote before I get ready for work? Open to suggestions.
