Villager Trading Plaza Feedback

True though.

Also, yeah I still wish we could be allowed to do Trading/LF threads. Idk if people even look at sticky anymore.

People look at the sticky. People have said they do, regardless.

I think people are just getting impatient is the real issue and we even allow people to repost every 2 hours. Regardless, it's a rule and should be followed and if people did follow the rule, there really wouldn't be a question if people looked or not :/

People look at the sticky—people who want dreamies. I have never seen anyone say to someone " I have so and so villager you're looking for, you can have him/her!". Now, I don't stalk the thread so there may be people that have achieved their dreamies from the looking for thread, but I have never personally seen anyone get a villager from it.

^what you said :/

people contact me sometimes but that's not because of this, it's because I post or they see my signature in places. :/

Why would we want people to post there though? It's essentially for people to post what they are looking for and if we have lots of commentary there, what do you think happens? :/

PMing someone is LARGELY encouraged and I know many people who got their dream villagers from there.

I have used the LF thread. It's just I've never found any people who currently want/need the villager I can offer.

Besides, if there was a LF prefix, I'd never look at them. I'd only look at the cycling and giveaway threads. Even if I had your desired villager, it'd be posted in a giveaway/cycling thread. I'd never post somewhere saying, "I have Molly for you!" when tons of other people want her. Why do that when I can put it in my cycling thread, hold a raffle, sell her (though I'd never sell a villager, not shunning anyone who does, but I wouldn't), or put up a giveaway thread as first come, first serve?

But that might be just me.

It's so much better that we don't have a LF prefix. If one was ever made and put up, you'd regret wanting one. Trust me. Let's just avoid the problem by not making it one.

^This, so much.

It'll honestly cause more problems than it's worth. There is a large reason it's like this.

Is a negative wifi rating the only option for reporting someone who adopts a villager without leaving the agreed payment and doesn't respond to PM?

Yes. Though you can report the user to the mods.

Pretty much. You can, however, report PMs and if you have any screenshots and etc. for proof, we can even do some further action. I wish there was an easier way to prove it :(

In the future though, keep your inventory up until they leave the payment--if you see them leaving before you've counted it all, just turn off Wifi as then they don't even keep their villager. You could've cut connection while they were leaving too/talking to porter/someone is leaving message by turning the switch off.

^This. I should just add this to my warning and tip thread.

I still preferred the thread, because people noticed what you wanted. It's now harder to ask for a certain villager.

Now that is very clever. I never thought of that before and was so far always lucky to trade with honest people, but I will keep this neat trick in mind. Thank you.

I only joined last month, but really like the Villager Trading Plaza. The only thing I find sometimes annoying is people who make Giveaway threads for like 5-10 minutes, then void the villager. I mean.. that clutters the place up for nothing. Maybe a giveaway thread (similar to the looking for thread) would not be such a bad thing or define a minimum duration for a giveaway thread, like for example 30 minutes. But then, I'm old and grumpy, so maybe it's just me :)

A cycling thread would help stop a lot of clutter as well.
I made a 'looking for' thread about an hour ago not realising it wasn't allowed, to be messaged by an admin saying that it wasn't allowed because of the clutter and has now been deleted and I have received a warning. Which is all fair enough, completely my fault and I will agree that if everyone posted threads like that, then it would take up a lot of space.
Now, however, the cycling threads are the ones taking up a lot of space which can be harder for people selling villagers to keep their threads somewhere visible on the list.
A sub-thread for this, I think would be a good idea. As often the threads don't have the villager in their title, meaning you have to constantly check the last posts for every cycling thread and keeping up to date with all of it can be a hassle.
If someone who didn't have a lot of bells wanted to sift through all these threads then that's fine. But when I'm checking to see if there are any of my dream villagers for sale, I often find a lot of cycling threads and have to spend a lot more time looking.
The same happens when I put the name of the villager through the search option in the villager trading plaza and a list of cycling threads show up to which I have no idea if the villager has been cycled or someone has just said whether they are looking for them or if they are currently being cycled.
This was just a suggestion btw, no idea if anyone will have the same feelings about it that I do. :)
