Villager Trading Plaza Feedback

Cycling, raffles, auctions.. should all be in different categories. It's become a mess. It would be easier for cyclers to get their towns attention. With all the trading and auctions, cycling towns get at the bottom of the list and so many dreamies are voided because people don't care to look on 2nd and + pages.

What about a limit on how many villagers your allowed to claim in a single day? Might help people trying to get their favorite villagers get them easier without people taking 20+ villagers in a day just because they have multiple games and have way too many dreamie villagers.

But every cycler has a rule on how many villagers you can claim -.-

I meant for people going around claiming multiple villagers in a day from various giveaway threads. A lot of people are just trying to find homes for their villagers, and I see a lot of the same people claiming them.

@Zanessa

Actually a lot of cyclers write "check inside thread to see who's moving" and that sort of stuff so checking involves clicking on the thread itself and sifting through the comments to see who's moving. A lot of cyclers don't update their signatures either, however this seems to be improving lately.

It just makes it a bit harder for people trying to sell or auction villagers to keep their threads visible.
From first hand experience, it's hard to keep your thread in the first page because of the multiple people on the cycling thread chatting and getting endless bumps of "I'm lurking for Marshallll" etc etc.
Just something to put the cyclers out of the way in their own place where they can do that amongst themselves without taking up all that room would be great.

Looking up the different prefixes has been great to avoid those threads however, so thank you to whoever added that. :)

Go to the last page to see the recent move out. It's really that easy. You'll never have to go to page 36 or 155 to see the most recent move out.

No one chats on the cycling threads anymore because it's against the rules. If you want the "spam" to stop, tell people that they can't state that they're watching out for a certain villager.
The prefixes have always been a thing. It's a thing on the Re-Tail board, dude.
If you want to see auctions, click on the auction prefix. If you want to see who's selling someone, look at the selling prefix. They made these for a reason. Endless bumps don't matter when we can just use the prefixes.

I was just saying thanks to whoever did it Zanessa. I know they have been a 'thing' on the Re-Tail board, I've used them. xD They are very useful.

Do you think it would be an option to instead of searching for threads with that prefix, to kind of like the opposite? Searching for every thread that does not have that prefix? I have no idea if that's feasible at all.
It's just when searching for a villager and going through different prefixes is fine, however it could be made simpler by looking at all the threads that aren't cycling threads.

I'm not going to pretend I know anything about how it would be done or act all smart-assey. But this would be a simple way of blocking out the cycling prefixes without actually putting them somewhere else.

If someone tags a thread 'selling' a villager...the first person who says yes and agrees to the requested price should get that villager. They shouldn't then be allowed to sell the villager to another player who answered second just because its for a higher price unless its tagged as an auction. I feel newer players who have less bells are losing out on a lot of villagers because we simply cant compete with how much some people are willing to pay

Also..they shouldnt be allowed to post something more than once for selling the same villager at different prices

I really think Cyclers need their own thread. It's a villager TRADE thread. I too often see ~~BLAH BLAH BLAH CYCLING~~
I mean, I just wanna trade villagers. Some of them dont even let you reserve them, that's why they need their own separate thread.

So us giving away villagers for free isn't good enough? A little ungrateful don't you think?

Anyway, one of the mods has already pitched an idea to create a sub-forum for us cyclers.. We just need to wait and see

I wasn't being ungrateful, it's just that most of the time the good villagers get claimed in an instant and you have all the cycling towns suddenly only having Jambette's to offer. I mean, hey, someone may really want one of those villagers, but there should be an option to disable the cycling on the home page of the trade forum. I would rather not see them since I don't use them, and many people don't use them either. I just counted 8 cycle threads. I think it's a bit excessive imo.

I agree with you there.. I personally despise the amount of cycling threads atm.. But the massive influx has been caused by the Christmas break, and it's a lot of people who wanna cycle to become TBT popular, or to cycle out a few villagers to get their dreamies.. The majority of them will die before too long..

But hey, I personally, as a cycler, think the sub-forum is a very good idea.. I mean it is called the "Trading" plaza.. So I'm fine with keeping it that way.. But people shouldn't have a negative attitude towards cyclers just because of the current abundance of them.. A lot of them aren't familiar with how they work properly, and so will die eventually :p

Believe me, Im not negative towards them! I think you all are very generous to do what you do. I think your hearts are in the right place, but a sub-thread type thing is probably our best bet for our cyclers

Is it just me who finds some of the cycling threads so confusing?
you have to trawl through multiple coloured font threads with 100's of rules, and lots of cyclers and multiple posts and the villager current list still isnt in an easy place to find -.-
And then on the front page of a thread theres duplicate posts one after eachother, with a few wording changed for a different cycler its so confusing

The idea of cycling is great and effective, just the way some of the threads are laid out are not user friendly :s

Please place more stringent rules on auctions. I see auctions going indefinitely, cancelled or abruptly postponed, bidders not fulfilling their bids, etc.

I only get frustrated when someone says giveaway and I respond to them while they are online(atleast the green lights on) and it takes them 30+mins to get back to me and by then someone else has responded saying if he doesn't take him I will. I had it happen with one of the wolves a few weeks ago and I was the first response by at least 30 mins or more and the person decided to make us race for it..... I just said screw it and told the person unfairness isn't worth my time.... I actually find it depressing that anytime I want a villager that's being given away and I respond first there is always some excuse to make it "more interesting".

Well Justin, I read your OP and there are a lot of suggestions. This Villager Board is not working. The cycling towns have overtaken the posts and are usually offline or not even current. It is making it difficult for someone, like me today and in the past, to post a giveaway or whatever and the thread gets lost within minutes.

There needs to be a cycling board for those who do it constantly. It's a great service, but hurts way too many others. Same thing goes for the Re-Tail board. Pro sellers are causing one time requests for buying/selling/trading to get lost.

At least give it some consideration if you see this. Thank you very much. And for those who don't like my post, it is just my opinion. No harm intended. I've met some wonderful people on all boards and so many are just outright generous and very very kind. Hugs.

I seriously do not believe a cycling section will fix anything.
But I guess that's just me.

Of course, give it time. Half these cycling threads already seem to be nearing its end.

Just another voice to support the idea of a sub forum for cyclers. I was just searching for specific villager in auction of giveaway, it just makes it hard. Also, someone else suggested a sub forum for profssioonal shops on re tail? Thats a great idea. I actually gravitatr towards the pro shops and that would my searches a lot. Thanks for any mod who reads this.
