What did you cook or bake today?

I made Oyakodon tonight for the first time. It was so good. My bf and I bought a Japanese cookbook and a rice cooker, we are having a ton of fun with it and eating a bit healthier as well. I'd love to bake more, but.... I've got pounds to lose, loool.

I baked a black forest cake (for those who don't know, that's a chocolate cake, cherry compote, and frosting). I tried to do whipped frosting with heavy whipping cream, and it tasted pretty good! I wish I had used a little bit more cream cheese for the frosting, but it was still really great! I really need to put more corn starch in the compote... oh well. 8/10, I would ABSOLUTELY bake again 😘 👌 I should be getting my summer body but oh wow does cake make that really dang hard.

made a traditional angel hair dish with an omelette on top

today i pan fried honey lemon salmon with honey butter sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts.

then for dinner, i made edamame noodles in miso with lots of peas, green onions and soy. dessert was prepping a huge batch of fresh picket peaches for bulk freezing and then making a peach butter on the stove w sugar, spices, honey and lots of time lol, to use in homemade peach ice cream.

a very 🍯 day tbh !

These were beautiful
Cadbury Dairy Milk and Milkybar white chocolate chunks. Just what I needed during this time (y):coffee:

I baked blueberry muffins today. They didn't puff up like what you'd expect in your typical muffin, but they were still delicious! The batter was all blue/purple prior to baking in which I called them Barney muffins lol.

Last I marinated chicken with lemon juice, pepper, and parsley. So today I made lemon pepper chicken with a side or rice.

I'm making reeally big chocolate chip cookies right now for the boys I live with. They love eating the food I make and it makes me happy seeing everything I make get eaten~ they've been working very hard during this pandemic and if I can make coming home just a bit cozier then I'm content!

just made me some poached eggs on toast with sriracha, sadly the avocados went bad or else they'll be in the dish too :(

I ordered in today. But I made pot roast yesterday! Cooking is actually calming for me so I enjoy doing it as much as I can.

Today I made some cocoa krispie bars! They're really good, I wish I could share some w all my friends here 😛

Banana bread! I recently learned that the bananas can be frozen, so now I always have bananas on hand in case I want to eat banana bread.

i made a honey cake today based off a recipe that i found on tiktok! it was only three ingredients (1 egg, 2 egg yolks, honey, and flour), but i loved i! highly recommend if you're a beginner or want to do something easy with children!
