Would you eat a dog

I know the exact video you are referring to, and I thought it was very sad. As someone who eats meat, I agree there is a cultural difference, but would I engage in these acts? Certainly not.

imagine someone owning a dog (in a country of which they eat dogs)
and then they eat their own pet dog or their dog's fren for food

in front of them

that would be sad

While I never got around eating dog meat, I wouldn't hesitate to do so on occasion if it ends up being a viable option. That's not to say I would go out and slaughter them, especially since they also make for excellent pet companion for me.

The same can be arguably said for pigs, yet eating their meat (e.g. bacons) seems to be fine. Both it and dogs are equally intelligent and share many of their capabilities, but then there's the overwhelming emotional attachment to the canines.

I would link an interesting article explaining why people are outraged about eating dog meat and pig meats are fine, but it contains a potentially disturbing image. A simple Google search could do the trick, if you're courageous enough.

I always want to eat a dog and want to know what is like even I do have a pet dog. I still want to try a dog today

Rabbits are pets. Are you against people eating rabbits too? People also keep chickens as pets. Animals serve many purposes. I'm not calling you any names uwu

Came for the drama stayed for the well-constructed debate on tumut's side

Would you snack on your pets or your kids?

Or has that train already sailed?

I would eat my pets if they were the only animals left to eat in the world, and I don’t plan on having kids.

eating kids is a lot more socially taboo than eating any kind of animal, like obviously it's your choice if you want to eat animals but implying that eating an animal is equally bad or unacceptable as eating a human child is really really weird

in my opinion its a bit ****ed up to keep an animal as a pet but eat it at the same time. but if someone wants to eat a dog then let them, its not hurting you, is it? im a vegetarian but i dont bash other people for eating meat as long as the animal didnt have to suffer too much. tldr let ppl do what they want

Well in regard to pet: no, I wouldn't eat my pet. Saying that, if I had a pet piggy I wouldn't eat that either, but I would still eat pork. I never met the pork, but my piggy, I'm already attached to Gammon and he's entirely metaphorical.

Kids though? I'm not sure what you're trying to say with that. Is it that it's okay to eat children, but it's a little weird if they're my own? I thought cannibalism was weird anyway, a majority of carnivorous animals seem to agree on that too, but if you say it's fine as long as they're not my own kids then I guess I'll give it a go.

Lmao, it’s not okay to eat kids. Nowhere near okay. That person just had no idea what they were talking about. Probably mad because I mentioned them, but this isn’t Discord. People can quote others if they want.

I think it's weird that some people get really fired up about eating dogs/cats, but they eat other animals. I mean animals are animals, meat is meat. People can eat what they want, or live their life how ever they want, it doesn't bother me. I'm moving to a more vegan lifestyle, but my friends and husband eat meat. It doesn't bother me. I've had pet chickens, cows, goats, and pigs. They all have unique personalities and are intelligent, so I think of all animals like most people think of dogs. However, I'm not opposed to trying different meats if I'm visiting another country, but I usually don't eat meat in my everyday life.

You do realize if you eat meats at all you’re not a vegan, right? There are plenty of substitutes for protein that exist.

EDIT: Reminds me of that one sketch from Robot Chicken where it’s literally just a statement to others to not eat meat. Give me a break. Either eat meat or do not, but it definitely does not put you above or below other people. Nothing does.

If it's prepared well then sure. I eat other meat so I wouldn't mind giving it a try if it was given to me.

I'm a vegetarian soooo no!
But my mom, who is from the Philippines, has eaten dog and cat before. she says she was tricked into it, not sure if both or if just cat, I can't remember
She always says she prefers dog over cat because it's meatier .

I feel like if I were to eat an animal such as a dog or a cat, I would feel extremely guilty about it, knowing I have pets that are dogs. Whether you do eat them or not, its mainly cultural difference between the western world and the eastern world, but nobody can criticize when many people eat a different variety of meats (unless your vegetarian or something but thats a whole different story).

If you're gonna do it, do it. I won't and hopefully others won't treat you any different for doing so, but personally its a no from me.

Personally I wouldn't as I don't eat meat, however as it's seen as culturally appropriate in other countries I can't argue against that

i can't fathom eating dog. at all. it doesn't matter if i'm a "hypocrite" or if my morals don't line up or whatever; even thinking of eating dog makes me sick. so no, i wouldn't. and those chinese festivals, as someone that is chinese, makes me incredibly sad.

Nowhere did they say they were vegan. They said they were moving towards being vegan.
