I would love to be able to move my airport and residental services to be more to the side and inlined. I pretty much missing the shopping district in NL

I like where they are. At first I wanted a centered plaza directly in front of the airport, but I'm glad the island I settled on for other reasons has the plaza pretty far from the airport (it's up and to the right.) That left room for Nooks and Ables right in front of my island, which I like. I don't think I'd change it.

I'm more content with my plaza and airport, If I could I'd move them elsewhere but I'm chillin' with where they're at all the same.

I like my building placements. Though I would change my airport just a little bit if it was an option. My Resident Services building is pretty much perfect where it is, but it’s just a couple squares off of being centered with my path leading from the airport. So shifting the airport about 2 spaces would make it centered.

The shopping district, now that brings back memories! I didn't think I'd miss it, but now I kinda do. I wish we had something like it that was customizable though! ...If they add another building, I have honestly no idea where I'm going to put it.

I'm surprised at how many of us have them almost aligned. I think many people would be happy with the option to move either one of these buildings to make them centered. I think the airport would be easier to move though!

I’m fine with the placement of my airport and resident services. They are neither far away or close together, so I would say it’s a pretty ideal distance. It’s also not centered to one another, but that’s also okay. I think I would have cared more if they were super close together, but even then I’d doubt I would have reset to get a different layout. Plus not knowing what all the placement choices of airport and resident services buildings I could have potentially got or how many layouts are actually available makes me not want to reset over and over again to try and find one I like. But if I ever had the chance to get Tom Nook to move either of them for some bells I would definitely take him up on that offer, no matter the cost.

i don't care much about where my airport is, but when i first chose my map i figured i'd want resident services close to my airport. i was 100% wrong and i hate myself for it lol - if i ever decide to get into hacking my switch/game that's probably the first thing i'd do.

that being said, i've nearly finished landscaping the entrance to my island and i've found a way to make the resident services area work perfectly, so i really can't complain too much. it definitely would've been easier had it been farther from the airport, but 🤷

I would move my resident services farther backwards away from my airport if possible, so I have more room to work with and develop that area better (maybe using cliffs like I have seen others do, for example)

My airport on the other hand is in the perfect place for me! It is green too, which is a huge bonus! :D

Airport is fine, but I'd move my Resident Services. I have east and south river mouths that separate my island into thirds. My RS is located in the center of my main island with the river directly behind and to the left of the building. I have little room to work with. I want to leave the rivers alone for the most part, so I'm struggling to develop the area.
However, I'm happy my RS isn't directly in front of the airport because I'd like to dedicate many cliffs, ponds, small waterways, maybe a bridge, and seasonal decorations by my entrance area. It'd be nice to have the airport path align with the center of RS though.

my resident services is extremely close to my airport, I'd prob wanna move it further away if I could

I specifically chose a map where the resident services was near the airport for convenience. I built nooks, ables, and the museum in the same area too and made it my down-town area. Apart from the convenience of everything being near each other, its been great when I was opening my island to a lot of people for selling turnips or buy things from the stores since I can easily fence off my downtown area. That way I can run around the island doing my own thing while others are visiting and don't have to worry about all the furniture and items I leave dropped around my island.

I would definitively see Tom Nook charging a premium for this service! I can't believe how much money I've given to that greedy good old racoon since the beginning of the game. It's a good thing he only charges 50k to move buildings, or I would be broke!

I love the idea to add seasonal decorations to the entrance area! I don't have much space either, but I'm sure we can find ways to work around that 😚

Islands like yours are the best to visit! I have a terrible sense of orientation so I always appreciate it when everything is close to the airport, otherwise I'll just end up getting lost 😅

My Resident Services is 1 spot away from being centered, but if I move it, I would have to fix my entire entrance. I would rather just move my Airport 1 over since I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of remodeling everything.

If you asked me a month into starting the game, I would have wanted the ability to move both. However, I've learned to work around not having my Airport aligned with Resident Services and them being neither super close or far apart. Terraforming and decorating based on my own preferences instead of turning to what is popular on social media also helped me be content with my island layout. :)

My Resident Services is 6 spaces away from my airport and it’s right above my airport so it makes designing an entrance really challenging. I was seriously considering resetting for a while and kinda stopped playing but just this week I picked it up again and re-did my entrance and now I quite like it. And I’m very glad I didn’t reset. However, I’d still move it if I could because it’s annoyingly close to my airport lol

I literally took the first map I was offered rather than resetting for anything. I worked with what I was given. It'd be nice if the airport was just a single tile over to the left.

Wouldn't move either of them.

I wanted Resident Services to be slightly off-center to the airport, which is what I have. It helped me create a winding path and leave enough space to sneak in the museum on the opposite side. Having them both centered would have been fine too. In that case, I would have made the entry my market/garden area instead of moving it to the left where it will be with the current set-up.

I've seen some islands where Resident Services is a few steps away from airport. Props to making that work well!

Even though I don't reset, I wouldn't change the location of either. I think they are fine the way they are, and its grounding for me to have at least a few things I need to work around now that we have total control of landscapes and everything else.

My resident services is steps away from the airport. I didn't realize this was so undesired, I think it makes it easy to grab bells on my way to a trade! I also managed to get a decent amount of terraforming done near my entrance so that it doesn't look boring.
