I love bubble tea, it's definitely not weeaboo and I drink it because I grew up with it and I like it :)

(ALSO I'm glad my bubble tea text wall inspired you... I think LOL)

i drink it religiously - though i stopped getting the tapioca balls lately since theyre kind of bad for you. I now usually get egg pudding or grass jelly with reg. milk tea or taro mt.

You bet your sweet bippy.

I've been meaning to try some of the other flavors, but I don't get it often enough to pass up on taro.

This is the first I have heard of it but after reading about what it is, I don't think I would like it.

Why do half the people here call it boba?

I never tried it myself but my partners reaction to trying it was hilarious. Every time he took a sip he just had the most confused look on his face and kept saying "what is that?". XD
I don't like tea so I haven't tried it myself. My partner did take one of the "bubbles" out of the drink and showed me and I must admit it doesn't look appealing to me, even if I did like tea.

Boba is slang for it, but the only place I've ever really heard people call it that primarily is around California.
(I hesitate to call it boba, because boba originated from a.. adult video actress' nickname which means big breasts. Original pearls in Taiwan used to be smaller, but she decided to increase the size and thus some people starting calling it boba)

ALSO to everyone who says they don't like bubble tea because of the pearls... you can get bubble tea without pearls... and also bubble tea without tea. I don't let people off the hook if they say they've only tried bubble tea once and don't like it LOL (It's like trying one smoothie and saying you dislike all smoothies because you didn't like that one flavour)

I loooove bubble tea, especially with the pearls. There's a small donut shop near my house that serves them but they only have like 2 flavors and its not that good.. I only buy when I go to the LA area

What the heck is bubble tea without the tea though? I thought about it just now and all I can think of is a cup of black pearls mashed together. xD
