I really wish nintendo would do something for us patient fans!

I don't think we deserve anything. A lot of the AC community were whiny little brats when waiting for the release date.

Were getting the game and it's gonna be worth the wait.
 
Not really no. Nintendo isn't our uncles or fathers who promised us a game if we got good grades or anything. We don't DESERVE it lol nor are we entitled to it.

It's more of a privilege considering they can just stop producing Nintendo stuff and not bring out this game, or any other game, period :p
 
I'm kind of disappointed that threads like this pop up. Aside from echoing that we don't deserve anything, you'd think new features would be enough to appease someone.

Atleast Nintendo didn't pull out AC:NL completely or All their games in general.

I will admit that I was one of the guilty party when it came to whine-ing about the release date.
I did so until about a week or so before the announcement.

Saddly, I agree that we do not deserve any bonus reward at all.
Though if Nintendo is nice enough to give us one than I'll be grateful for it.
I mean if you think about the DLC are rewards too!
 
Oh come on now. You guys took this so much farther than I thought it would go! Im not even necessarily asking for something free--just something offered to us in the mean time. I don't think just because they're taking awhile we have to be gracious when we are basically waiting with cash to give them. I don't think its wrong for me as a consumer to feel a little upset with the fact we were promised the game earlier than it will actually come out.

As one board member said with the uncle/father example, I can also say that its not as if we are their relative or friend waiting for them to do us a favor, we are waiting to throw our money at them, basically--so you cant really make that comparison when the relationship and the product just isnt the same. I don't expect them to give us a free 3ds or anything ridiculous like that, itd just be NICE to have a small freebie or another thing we could buy to distract us in the mean time.

I meant this to be as a brainstorming thread for extraneous ACNL related accessories/DLC/etc that would be nice to pass the time, not as a place to whine.

Ummm no?

Why should we get rewarded for waiting?
Most games usually take at least 4 months to localize *coughpokemoncough* just because we have to wait for ACNL (and never the others) why should we be rewarded..... We usually wait ~6 months for the Pokemon games to localize here, but With X and Y they are doing a global release.

It just seems selfish IMO and pointless.... I don't understand.

@MDofDarkheart: No can people please stop saying 'Nintendo were going to cancel the game' the rumor wasn't even true if you believed it then you're not very smart (rude but true)

I seriously don't understand why we should be rewarded for waiting for a game just b/cos it's AC. We wait for every other game and we don't get a reward....

yes! this would be quite nice.

I play the NHL series quite religiously and they always have a demo to play sometime before the release date, up to a month beforehand. That kind of small demo-like experience would be a nice teaser to the actual game. I've seen a lot of people play through it on the japanese version, but it would be nice to at least get an idea of the english version.

Discussing what is possible DLC and accessories in the game is a better use of time than fighting over silly things.

So let's get this topic back on track people.

Name 3 items you'd like to see as DLC or accessories in the game.

Here are my first ideas.

1. Heart Mugs - DLC coffee mug item with heart shaped handles or hearts on them!

2. More World Culture related food items.

3. More Kinds of Hairpins or Mini Hats.

It seems to me that those who feel they deserve something for waiting are those who feel entitled to things, but that's just my opinion.

And yeah, we are waiting with our money ready to buy it. But it doesn't mean that we should get something free JUST for waiting. You should be a little less impatient and just be happy the games coming out, as I'm stating again.

And since I don't know your age, I'm sure you will probably say the same when you get older and have to wait at the Motor Vehicle Agency and have to get your ID, file documents and license and other things needed. While your meet with them will only take 10 minutes, it can be anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hour wait to just be seen. Will you tell them you deserve something free for waiting for so long?

Just remember, you aren't the only one waiting. You don't deserve anything Nintendo has to give because you really aren't entitled to the game. Unless you're like related to someone at Nintendo.

But if you were just trying to make discussion; THEN something that would've been nice to see is aome type of AR cards that have villagers and could show your character, kind of like how the AR cards for kid Icarus are c:

I've been to the DMV quite a few times and I know its no picnic...but I didn't expect it to be, you know? Its alright. I guess people took what I said about waiting as if I was shaking my fist at the Nintendo gods demanding compensation...not what I meant.

I wonder what that Wii U game is like! I am trying to avoid buying new consoles, at least for now. But I'm sure I'll throw my hat in the ring when a game or two that I just have to play comes out.

The AR cards are also a wonderful idea! It would be cute to be able to take pictures of yourself with villagers or maybe show people the outside of your house with an AR card.
 
A demo to me sounds kind of stupid. You'll start the game as a taste for it, but all the progress you've made would all be for nothing since you'll just be starting again with a different town layout after getting the real thing. Unless you're okay with starting fresh with a new town layout, I wouldn't bother playing the demo if there was one. It'd be a waste of time.

Although I highly doubt we would get an Animal Crossing demo anyway, it's certainly possible to do a demo on the 3DS that continues your progress. See the recent Etrian Odyssey IV demo. The full game can continue off your demo progress.

That aside, I think a standalone pattern marker demo like the OP suggested would be pretty neat.
