Nintendo Direct 9.4.2019

Ugh, that's midnight for me, guess I will pass and watch it the next day (so Thursday). Not gonna hype
it that much but of course I will be happy for any news about New Horizons.

Excited!
I can't wait to see what they'll show us!!!
I'd really like a new Mario game, like Galaxy, Sunshine or Odyssey! But just a little thing saying the game is in developement.
I would also really be happy if we saw some NH news! But my hopes aren't too high about that anymore. :lemon:

I think a new Mario game would be cool, but I'd really like a remake of Sunshine of SM64. Unlikely, but it would be so cool.

I don’t think we’ll get NH news. It’s only been three months since the reveal, so it feels too soon for more info. Maybe in the next direct.

I'm not expecting anything, but if they don't tell me New Horizons release date has been moved to this fall and don't reveal Animal Crossing themed joy-cons I'm gonna wreak havoc

I’m thinking they’re probably going to announce the smash DLC but not anything NH sadly.

The information says it's mainly focusing on Banjo, Pokemon, and Luigi's mansion just as a heads up.

If I recall correctly, there have been directs where they announce games coming out the next year despite directs saying they'll ONLY discuss games coming out in 2019.

I'm not expecting any AC:NH news, as its most likely will be getting a direct of its own.
I do hope for a new Mario Kart to pull off a Smash Ultimate with new content as well. (Who would want Smash Villager in Mario Kart? I mean I hear absolutely no one who wants him in Mario Kart. In fact, I hear nobody talk about Mario Kart whatsoever...)

It would be nice if there’s news on ACNH, but I’m not expecting it. This will be something nice to wind down to and watch after the hectic day I’m going to have tomorrow. :lemon:

I am kind of excited! I hope there is more spoilers and trailer for Animal Crossing New Horizons! I am not extremely overjoyed though becuase I know the game still wont come out for another 7 months (Although we can hope :)).

I really hope they either move Animal Crossing New Horizons to the Fall (Which will not happen, but maybe they will move it to Juanary or Feburay). I also hope tey announce an Animal Crossing NEw horizons themed Joy-Cons oor Switch Lite. It would be so cool to see the design!

They won’t show anything major from ACHC because it’ll overshadow everything else they have planned this year lol

I expect none of these to be announced I personally would like to see:
The Animal Crossing N2DS to be released in North America
National Dex patch for SwSh
Major OS overhaul for Switch with standard features we should have by now (party/invite system, messaging, voice chat)

We should all know by now not to expect anything on New Horizons in the slightest. If it's there, then yay, if not then its expected.

On the flip side though, I am interested in what could be in it.

Very cool! I'll have to wait until I get back from work, since it'll be 5pm for me, but I'm excited! I need news on BOTW2 but I know I won't get that lol xD

i have school.... Welp time to watch Alpharad react to the nintendo direct after

To be honest i could if i wake up early at 8am

I've wanted Mario Kart to go the "Smash" route for as long as I can remember, MK8 being the closest I feel we'll get though.

I just don't see why they continue scraping the bottom of the barrel with like 5 different variations of Mario and Peach to further pad a roster when they could just continue to throw in characters like Isabelle, Inklings and Link.

First of all, thank you for providing the eastern time (they never seem to post that time zone). For my usual self, I come into the direct with low expectations while people in the background will constantly scream SMASH to no end. Thank goodness I have the free time to watch it.

I don't know, there are still quite a few Mario universe characters that they continuously either don't add or randomly remove. I would say that Mario Kart's roster problem runs much deeper than lack of Mario characters to add. Hence them making up characters like Pink Gold Peach and Baby Daisy. They don't do that because there aren't other characters they could add instead... They just do it. I don't really understand why at this point, aside from laziness/running out of time.

Either of those scenarios is rather baffling to me since Mario Kart characters are not much more than avatars. Sure you get weight classes, but that's about it. This isn't like Super Smash Bros, where each unique character has to have so much put into them, thus time and resources are much more limited. And with that said, you *still* don't get lazily made-up characters like Baby Daisy or Pink Gold Peach in Super Smash Bros. So... I don't know what to say.

With that said, I'm most certainly not saying I'm against non-Mario characters in Mario Kart. I'm fine with the additions in Mario Kart 8/Deluxe (even though I can't stand Inklings). Also, personally, I'm glad they went with the New Leaf and beyond model of Animal Crossing Villager in Mario Kart 8. That model is obviously here to stay, as it has been utilized in every Animal Crossing game/spin-off since New Leaf and beyond.
