I don't know anything about the new smash characters they announced yesterday but... with all of those cool looking characters in the game they picked the truck driver to add to the roster? Also wouldn't be surprised if they decide to add another DLC pack once this one is filled up.

I just finally got around to watching it, and I have to say I am pleasurably destroyed. NH is already looking so cute, SNES is finally here, Banjo-Kazooie is available, and Trials of Mana looks very promising. Can I also say that Sakurai has such a great personality? He's witty, concise, and seems very fun. Though we do share the same birthday, so I should know. Really just a great direct.

Just a heads up for anyone who like me was super stoked for Divinity: Original Sin II Definitive Edition - contrary to the initial eShop advertisement, you cannot play split screen local co-op in the main game. Not sure why they chose to leave it out, but I ended up calling Nintendo support to have the game refunded because that was the only reason I bought it.
Other than that disappointment, I was pretty happy with the direct, especially with getting some new Animal Crossing footage and SNES games! Will definitely be snagging a couple controllers once they become available.

Truck driver!? Yea, I'll give you that.
Terry is from Fatal Fury, possibly more well known for King of Fighters games. He won't be as popular in the US since Nintendo consoles and Capcom arcade games were the 'big deal' there, but in other areas of the world he/the series were a lot more popular, especially in Latin America I believe.
If anything Terry was the best/obvious choice for an SNK rep. I would have also liked to see Mai or something Metal Slug related.
If anything, thank your lucky stars we got somebody with a unique design.
That's disappointing. I was already on the fence about it given it's ?45 for a game I already sank hundreds of hours into (which I believe is also more than I paid for it on its original release too), but that's a real killer since I was hoping this in split screen would finally get my friend to try it. Maybe when it's on sale.
Saying that, it's possibly understandable. I would imagine the removal of split screen would be something to do with rendering a LOT more of the environment at once across two screens. It's a pretty game and often has a lot of interactable stuff on one screen. Having twice as much going on at once might have been a killer since it would mean the entire game would need downgrading for the sake of the smaller minority who would be playing split screen. Maybe they could have tweeked it so that the Switch version demands both characters have to be on the same screen, but I always hate those sorts of games.

Yeah, hardware limitations was pretty much the consensus when I was looking for information on it - not sure why the price is so much higher than other platforms considering they removed a huge selling point of the game. My boyfriend owns it for PC, so we’ve played split screen that way, but we were really looking forward to couch co-op on our TV. Shame.

Huh, I didn't know he'd been leaked ahead of time! I knew that an SNK character was coming, but a lot of people were saying it was going to be an "unpopular female character" so Terry wasn't even on my radar, haha.
