What Are You Happy About Today?

I've been working on a 2D animation for the past two weeks and I finished one scene. I've animated before but I wouldn't call myself a professional at all. These are all relatively simple animations too however I'm really happy with the look since I created everything from scratch minus the background music and font. I even learned how to code a bit, then broke my project twice (as code does) and fixed it on my own. I feel a bit big brained for working that out, lol.

I did not render it yet, so it might just crash and burn buut, it's okay because I'm just happy how everything looks right now. It feels nice to focus on something different and trying new techniques.
 
After getting annoyed at work yesterday, I finally got snapped out of my haze and started applying for new jobs today 😅 Applied for 2 that I'm interested in, one that would be amazing to get as it's related to my degree. But it just feels better to be actively trying for something new again.

Kind of happy to not have a closing shift tomorrow, and my mum's car got fixed quickly after she broke down yesterday, which is nice.
 
I finally got to open some of my packages that have been waiting for a while. I got a load of pins and some merch from fangamer Japan and other auction sites (using a proxy), and a Croc PS1 pin from a UK site. Plus a Kickstarter board game I backed arrived, but I might post about that when I play it tomorrow.

I also got an ice pikmin ice mold and a roost thermal cup! Among a few other things.
 
This is like a super niche interest here but.. an artist I like that does Godzilla fan animations opened up a shop today and I snagged up every bit of Anguirus stickers and keychain they had available. It's kind of rare for my favorite monster to get any kind of merch, official or otherwise, so it's nice that I can finally display something more than just the one figure I have of him. 👏^^
 
I managed three full days at work this week (two days on, one day off, one day on). That won't sound like a lot, but I'm in recovery from a serious illness and still awaiting hospital treatment so it is a lot for me. Next week I'm doing four consecutive days and it sounds terrifying but I'm sure I'll get through it. Work is being amazingly supportive. I had a meeting with senior management and HR on Wednesday and they are willing to work with me on this. I'm very lucky.

I'm improving in the gym - my PT told me I was up on my reps this week and he's seen improvements in my confidence. I'm not tracking how much I lift or how many reps I do. He does that for me. But it made me realise - damn, I've been dealing with this disability affecting my wrist for years and after a couple of months working with him it is hurting me a lot less. I don't see much difference in my body looking in a mirror but this is a sign of improvement. Working with him once a week has done more for me than my physiotherapy sessions have. 💪

We are bringing home our kittens next weekend! I received some videos tonight showing their progress and they're doing so well. 🐈‍⬛
 
I had a pretty good work week! After getting to the poin t after a year that I was going to need to take an extended break from work to figure out some health/medicine reaction issues, I finally figured it out on my own and I'm able to work normally now.

I'm looking forward to my day off today now: Getting nails done, doing to Nintendo Tokyo to try to get the controller gatcha, and checking out a specialty candle I found out from an ad targeting foreigners in Japan lol
 
-Today we had quite a few callouts/no shows but lucky for me it was a slow day
-Finished the Cell Saga which was awesome! I got 100 episodes of DBZ to rewatch but I may have to skip some filler to save time
-Watched WWE Smackdown which was also AWESOME!
 
☾ We got some little mini-pumpkins while picking up groceries today!! 🎃 They’re in really pretty colors too; we have a solid orange one but also a pure white one, a white one with orange stripes, and an orange one with yellow-ish stripes!!

☾ My family and I watched a little Youtube together, and we got to see the rest of Solidarity’s Minecraft Guess the Build video. Skizzleman’s Grian with pet platypus build nearly had me in tears omg... why were Grian's eyes in his SHIRT?? help

☾ And I had a blast playing Among Us hide and seek tonight!! ;v; I’m so happy they had a Halloween hat bundle available for beans, and I was also able to get both the Trick and Treat Cosmicubes, and have already gotten almost all of what I wanted most from each!
 
Today was okay; still struggling a bit but it wasn’t a bad day 🙂.

I’m happy today because I got to chat a little with @Kirbyz and was happy to hear that she’s doing good :D.

I had fun today playing hide and seek in Among Us with everyone :D.

I was able to trade for one of the mushrooms that I wouldn’t have been able to get with my sauteed mushrooms 🙂.

I was a bit disappointed my nefshroom was poisonous but I also was happy since I wanted the unfortunate shroom to keep even if just temporarily (I like the art so much ☺️).

Its 6:42 am and my 4th anniversary with my beloved partner.
Its crazy to think we've been together since we were 17/18 because that just feels like a lifetime ago, but Im so grateful for his company every day. He wholeheartedly supports me in everything I do and has taken some unfortunate Ls before just so I can succeed, which I will never stop being grateful for. Today, however, the only L he will take is losing to me in DDR! We're going to play one of the only DDR machines in London that has good songs on it, find a nice bar (or restaurant) and enjoy our time together. Just like every other anniversary we didn't 'plan' what we're gonna do on the day till last night, but that's just us.

(Right NOW though, it IS 6:47am, so I'm just going to do reading and some university work before he wakes up so I don't have to think about it later. Still on that BA to PhD grind)

I’ve been saving my happy moments from the week until I was desperate for spores!
  • My Sir Elton book, ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ arrived last Saturday. Even the cover is so pretty and the inside didn’t disappoint me. Of course, I’m not in the slight biased! :giggle:
  • Blossom has been so funny as usual. She’s still barking and howling! A few days ago she was having a nap and she let out the softest little bark when she was sleeping. It was so cute!
  • I finally managed to find somewhere that sold Hot Chocolate bombes! I haven’t tried it yet, but looking forward to it!
  • I’m not crazy about Halloween but I do like seeing other people getting excited about it. I do enjoy seeing decorations, so when I saw a little light up ghost I couldn’t resist it. I've named it Booton!
  • Last but by no means least, the Mushroom Season!
