The Pod Generation. I watched it on an evening I couldn't sleep. It is a sci-fi film that removes traditional pregnancy from the reproduction process. I found it extremely interesting.
Rewatched Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones yesterday with my sister. I forgot how much I enjoyed the PA series, just slowly lost interest on the latest iteration/s
As I mentioned in my most recent post back on the 18th, I wanted to get a head start on my horror movie marathon since October always goes by so fast. So, I've been trying to watch at least one thing each night this week.
Split between Saturday and Sunday evenings, I finally watched the 1979 made-for-tv movie adaptation of Stephen King's novel Salem's Lot that was directed by Tobe Hooper. It was originally a mini-series, thus explaining the length. It's something I've been curious to check out for years but never got around to until now since I never really wanted to dedicate the time to it in October when I'm trying to fit as many movies as possible into my marathon throughout the month. It was added to the Shudder streaming service earlier this month, and it's still September, so it seemed like as good a time as any.
Not bad, though some of the character decisions felt particularly dumb as it approached the end. Other than that, though, it's all right. It has a nice atmosphere and the vampire design for the main villain is cool. Considering the long runtime, I don't know whether it's something I'll revisit too often, but I could see maybe throwing it on again in September eventually.
On Monday I decided to check out Goke, Body Snatcher from Hell, a Japanese horror/sci-fi movie released in 1968, directed by Hajime Satô. It's an interesting little movie, I liked it.
On Tuesday I did my yearly revisit of Dario Argento's 1975 movie Deep Red, yesterday was the yearly rewatch of his 1982 movie Tenebrae, and tonight was his 1987 movie Opera.
On Friday I checked out a movie that I had heard about a while back, Deadly Friend, directed by Wes Craven and released in 1986. I had heard that it's a so bad it's good, love it or hate it, kind of movie and I figured I might as well find out where I sit on that spectrum. I liked some of the kills and such, especially the basketball kill, but otherwise it just kinda sucks.
On Saturday, the first thing I watched was director Georges Franju's 1960 movie Eyes Without A Face. It was my first time watching it and I thought it was great! I think it's something I might like to watch again in future years like some of my other horror mainstays in October. I decided that I wanted to follow it up with something to do with mushrooms due to the current Mushroom Season event here on the forums. Thus, I revisited director Ishirō Honda's 1963 movie Matango. Also great.
Yesterday, Sunday, I checked out director Corin Hardy's 2015 movie The Hallow. I had previously heard of it but hadn't gotten around to it until now. You ever watch a movie that's either the standard 90 minute runtime, or just a few minutes longer, but it just feels longer than it actually is? This was one of those. There were some aspects I liked about it but overall not much of a fan. I wonder which is your baby, ma'am, the one that is giggling and making noise or the one that hasn't made a sound for like twenty minutes.
I decided to follow it up with my yearly revisit of director Peter Medak's 1980 movie The Changeling. As you can guess since it's a yearly watch, I think it's great too.
i rewatched that time i reincarnated into a slime's movie scarlet bond TnT
super excited that a second movie and the fourth season has been announced for it !!!
