The only difference there is that Sony and Xbox have so much more to offer for their price and it's justified. Opposed to the whatifs future that Nintendo decides to toss in a few more games. Plus they have proper dedicated servers which to this day Nintendo has never bothered to do. If one person disconnects in AC everyone does. If they want us to pay $50 if things get phased out they need to do this, but they won't because they know enough people will just reluctantly pay for it.

I'm not buying it and if Sega and N64 is what you all want, there are other ways to do it. Like buying the games on the virutal console for about the same price and you get to keep them. Or by means we're probably not allowed to talk about here, but should go that route before caving in to Nintendo's insane greed. I like the company, I really do, but they are tripping within the last few years ever since Reggie stepped down and they lost Iwata. Now they just have business suits.

I do get what you are saying about hopefully they bring more content in to make it worth it, but they were really scrapping at the bottom of the barrel for the NES and SNES titles when there were still classics they had yet to add. Like I never even heard of Jellyboy, Spankys Quest, or that one clay game about animals.

Games as a subscription is not something I'll ever partake in, outside of MMO's, and live games.

i'll definitely be keeping the two separate - i'm just not interested in the other aspects of the expanded membership plan at all, so there's no point in me repeatedly paying for the expansion to keep the dlc when i could save money and buy the dlc as a standalone, plus i don't always have nso anyway so there's no point in me paying for something i could end up not using

I'm getting the dlc outright. Not interested in the membership and it's even worse that you lose the dlc if you don't renew membership.

I have the family nso already, bought it for $20 when it was on sale and have some Nintendo credits remaining so one time payment is the best choice.

I don't mind paying for the Nso but the other membership doesn't have enough value for me to get it.

I was never interested in the new subscription since its announcement as I don't play those games they include with it.

So yeah, gonna pay $25 for the DLC alone.

I was considering the subscription at first because I have a family member on my plan that also plays ACNH and another that might be interested in the retro games.... but it's just not a good deal. I'm not sure what they were thinking with the price and not allowing us to keep playing the dlc if we downgrade next year.

I am buying it to own it permanently. The expanded ownership is a bit costly and more than I expected. Also, I would want it to be kept. I would not like it if I gave up the ownership and lose the expansion after all possible hours put in afterwards.

Since I am getting the Expansion anyways, I'll just get it with the Expansion.

If I ever feel like dropping the Expansion, I'll buy the DLC at that time.

I’m just getting the dlc alone. I’m not too interested in the other new stuff for Nintendo Switch Online.

The expansion is really scummy imo, so if I get the DLC, I'm getting it outright. I'd like some N64 games but refuse to give Nintendo $50 a year. It's not worth it.

I'm already going to be getting the NSO upgrade to play N64 games, so I'm just going to save myself the 25 bucks by just using the DLC included with it

You're not really saving money long term, though. Purchasing the DLC directly is clearly a cheaper option, and Nintendo could remove it from the Expansion Pass at any time they wish. Just keep that in mind.

I have no intention of getting the NSO + Expansion Pack, nor would I want the DLC through that, because I want to own it, not just have it via subscription.

I'm on my sister's family plan and I'm not gonna ask her to get the $80 version, so I'm gonna just pay the $25 outright. I have the money ready to go in my paypal account right when it releases.

It doesn't make a difference if I plan to keep the NSO subscription for N64 games. If they remove it from online I'll just buy it standalone. There are lots of N64 games that I want to play.

I’ll be getting the dlc only since I have no interest in getting the fifty dollar plan. Non of the games they announced it’ll be coming with are stuff I care about or own already. I’ll be sticking with my regular subscription on the switch for the seeable future.

As someone who owns all the retro consoles anyway, NSOs expansion pack is entirely useless to me. As it is, NSO is bull**** expensive, I don't use it for anything other than to very rarely go give my friends items in ACNH lmao ...

I'm buying it separately and probably not even buying the expansion pack at all. I'm keeping the original online because the price is just insane. The N64 games would be nice but honestly they aren't worth paying that much for. I'd rather just play amazing new games instead.

I was really confused at first thinking the plus membership was going to be the only membership option now. Then I was thinking you had to have it to get the dlc. I was releived to find I was wrong on both counts. I have no real interest in the retro games but when I did the math and realized that for the year it would only be $5 more for the plus membership I figured it worth the extra $5 to check them out. Then I found out that if you cancel the plus you lose the dlc. So regular membership and dlc seperately for me.
