Why are Kangaroo villagers disliked?

I'm ok with the male ones, but yeah I think the females are odd with the baby that copies their expressions. ._.

I was surprised when I heard about kangaroos being disliked that much, as I always wanted to have a kangaroo villager when I was younger, and I still do find them quite enjoyable.

I don't hate them I just don't like them aesthetic wise, idk why but I just don't find them that cute, maybe my tastes are just too basic for me to appreciate them, but I like Walt however, I think he's the only kangaroo villager I would invite to my island if I had the chance but the others are mehhh...

Probably the baby is a factor for female ones. I have a friend who is creeped out by them because of that.

I guess because the vibes are kinda off. Like, it feels really creepy when you’re talking to them and they don’t acknowledge their child whatsoever, it’s kinda like having two villagers for the price of 1 but they pretend like the other one doesn’t exist. Also when the babies mirror their reactions, suuuper weird

Walt is a dreamie, I dislike the rest of the males, and I hate all the females, they look like abominations with those heads sticking out of their stomachs.

It is entirely the joey they have. If the joey was actually like a baby I don't think I'd mind, but it's just like.... an appendage. I personally like Walt so im thinking it isn't the base kangaroo model I have a problem with

I love the kangaroos myself. Mathilda was one of my original villagers in New Leaf. I have Carrie now because she was the first kangaroo I encountered on the islands. I'd love to have Mathilda again, but I don't have the patience for "dreamie" chasing.

I can see how some might be creeped out by the joeys, but the two heads concept amuses me, I like it because it's weird

Mathilda’s in my town, I will try to remember to let you know when she pings to move in case the timing works out. I like seeing my villagers go to a home with someone who appreciates them.

I also find them a little creepy! Not just their mirror babies, but the models of the kangaroos. I'm glad some of y'all love them. I just don't!

i'm not sure! i've seen some hate for the female kangaroos but i think it's cool that they have joeys. marcie is adorable, i don't understand why she isn't very popular

I came across Kitt while island hopping and I've always thought she's cute, so I immediately got her even though she wasn't in my plans. I'm not planning on letting her go. I also like Astrid's design, but I agree there are some ugly ones, especially male kangaroos and other female kangaroos such as Sylvia.

I think the female designs could be better. And it's not the joey that bothers me. I only really like Mathilda, but I have so many snooty types I like she can't really compete. I would like Marcie, but her lack of a nose really bothers me! Like a lot!

However, I absolutely adore Walt! I had him in New Leaf and just found him tonight while searching for Apollo. And I just could not say no to him. Walt is the quintessential Cranky imo. Older and gruff looking, but still very appealing design-wise. His scar and love for japanese clothing and furnishing really makes him stick out as a kangaroo too! I <3 Walt!

I don’t dislike them. I just think their design could have been better. Specially the female kangaroo’s with their joey. Even though they have a little one on their belly, they are just... there. Nothing special and the joey’s head acts the same as the mom’s. I really think it should have been a 2 in one villager kind of feature. Where you go talk to the female Kangaroo and instead of one name on the text box it says “Mommy kangaroo and Baby kangaroo”. Or each have their own text box. Where both the mommy and baby have different dialogues when talking to you.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they suddenly run up to you and Astrid’s like “Hey OP! Baby astrid just had an idea!”. And Astrid’s baby would be like “Yeah! I told mommy that maybe we should give you a prezzie!” It would be adorables

The baby mirroring the mom's movements and expressions makes it seem more like a mind-control parasite rather than a bebe...

I agree with the babies I think they could've done much better representing joeys and how they act in actual life BUT I'm not understand how they're exactly creepy? Maybe odd is the better word but creepy is a bit of an extreme word
