It's at least ten posts on ten different days right? My screenshots might have wildly different dates because of time travel

This will be my journal for this event! ^^ I've been meaning to get my island looking a bit nicer for some time now, so this has given me a great excuse to do it.

Here's my journal!

Oh, I hope this is ok. I spent so many hours over lockdown and this is just what I need to get the love back. Miss friends visiting and having fun.

This is such a wonderful event that I can't even! ❤️

I don't feel like it's time for me to come back to the NH yet but it's definitely tempting now. I need to think it over.

I’d also like to know if we can
1. Edit the fotos we take
2. Time travel

I have a specific concept in mind, but it requires me to change the season.

There are a lot of questions, so if I've accidentally skipped yours feel free to ask again. I'm not purposely ignoring any of them.

Does it need to be between January 14th 2023 and February 12th 2023 in-game?
Nope. We're not going to hold being a time traveller against you.
SHAAAAAME!

I've been dying to make a blog about my island!! Question though: are we allowed to include our own art as well? I'd like to incorporate the art I've made from TBT events and possibly make some comics as part of my island lore
Go ahead.

Question 1: Can screenshots be edited to any degree, whether minor or major? (Example: islander name edited out/changed, putting a filter over a screenshot, or something such as making up a plot about a hologram outside your house and editing an islander with a holographic effect on them onto your screenshot?)

Question 2: Can you only win once? (Example: If you won 1st place for Best Writing, could you also win 3rd for Best-Slice-Of-Life, or 1st for both categories, staff pick for 2 weeks, etc...)

I apologize if these were already answered somewhere else 😰
(Q1) This is fine.
(Q2) You could win in multiple categories if that's the way the community votes, yes. However, you can only be selected as a Weekly Staff Pick one time.

also, silly question: does the first/main post count towards the 10 posts/10 days total?
If it meets the criteria, yes.

In my original journal I use two playable characters. In my journal I write from both characters perspectives. Would I still be able to do that? Or would it be easier to just focus on the one?
This is fine.

It's at least ten posts on ten different days right? My screenshots might have wildly different dates because of time travel
This is correct.

I’d also like to know if we can

2. Time travel

I have a specific concept in mind, but it requires me to change the season.
(Q1) Yes.
(Q2) Yes.

tl;dr summary of answers: we're giving you plenty creative license with this. We're not going to dictate how you play the game or how you choose to report on it. As long as you hit the criteria outlined in the main post you're good.

Here's my island journal. I tried to go with the story-like route with bits of the island's "creation myth" every beginning of the journal entry. 😊

omg this is so exciting i almost can't wait to finish up cleaning my island so i can start decorating. it's still a major wip but my intro is up and running 𓆩♡𓆪

Don't even ask where I'm going with this

tldr; Dragon gets stuck in the Island Representative's body

Thank you for answering my question Chris! But I have ONE more question; is it fine to narrate from a villager's point of view, rather than an island rep/side character? (I still plan on including pictures/information on my island rep, just from a villager's perspective)

Thanks again :)

Funny, I was working on restarting my journal when I saw this event! I'll obviously request to merge threads after the event is over, but here's the event thread (I'm only aiming for the participation prize obviously):

My journal I'll be submitting.

Oooh, this is such a fun event idea. And the collectible is so nice too. Book!!! Very much a want. I can't wait to read through all these upcoming journals too.

I've been thinking about completely tearing down and re-terraforming my island and journaling sounds like the perfect motivator. Even better, my new phone has a QR scanner built in (or so online says) so I can actually use screenshots and not very bad camera on screen pictures for this. But I just started Pokemon Scarlet and will probably dedicate all my gaming time to that, so if I participate it will probably a little later in the month.

I am not participating to win because I can't, being on the staff team and all. Imagine being disqualified before you even started...
But to anyone who might enjoy silly stories supporting spectacular screenshots:

What a lovely event! I’ve considered creating an island journal to motivate myself to clean up my island but never got around it. Perhaps I could challenge myself for this event and see how much I could do with 10 days. I’m looking forward to reading every participant’s entries! 😊

On a side note, there’s a spelling mistake in the 4th sentence of the user banner (the one appearing at the top of most pages): “We want to experience it with you!” It’s written “expereince” instead of “experience”. I’m not sure if it’s already been caught… Hopefully it’s okay for me to point that out. 😅

This is such a cute idea! I'm happy lots of people are getting back into the game. It's funny because both my siblings are too. Not sure what is causing this but I'm loving it! I've been slowly getting back into it too. I won't be restarting my island but I'll be working on finishing it finally!
