I made a Seashore Egg!

I honestly just wanted to make an egg that was ocean/beach themed because I feel like there's a lack of that kind of theme collectible-wise, and wanted to try bringing something new to the table. I went through lots of trial and error with this one but I had a lot of fun. The easter eggs are some of my favourite collectibles tbh and I use them year-round, so it was really neat to have the chance to create one myself!

Q. What if I'm not a great artist but have an amazing Egg collectible idea?
A. In the past, we have noticed collectible designs that had good concepts but were too different in style to our existing collectibles. To address this, we may contact potential winners to collaborate with our artists and revise their collectible designs in order to make their entries more stylistically similar to other collectibles. oh thank god for this!! i'm not a good artist but i tried my best. i attempted to give it a slight glow effect but i don't think it turned out very glowy? originally i was working on a different egg design but i saw someone had already submitted a similar one and i didn't want to step on anyone's toes!

i used pixlr, which is a free drawing website. they do have ai features (which unfortunately every drawing website/app seems to include now) but i didn't use any

There isn't a proper voting process from the community side so I'd encourage everyone to react to any entries they like because it does help us to see what resonates with all of you. Drew my eggy in Procreate on a 500x500 pixel canvas

Started with this outline - was too detailed though!

Tried to simplify the outline more

Simplified even further

Adding the oranges and pinks!

Adding the DOTS

Adding more highlights

Adding some more detail

Applied a linear burn in the final stage.
Afterwards, I copied and pasted the whole egg into the 28x28 file, then I used the blank egg file

to help refine the edges of my Chrysalis egg so that they have the exact same shape. I made a couple tweaks in pixel form, mainly to the dots because they're so tiny

Is there a thread, or could we have a thread that acts as a tutorial on how to even create one of these collectibles? One where there are some basic instruction and allowance for people to ask questions and those more experienced could answer and guide?

I honestly haven’t a clue on how to even begin, but I would love to try making an Easter egg! I work on an iPad and I don’t know where to start, what app(s) I might need or use, etc.

If something like this exists could someone please direct me to it? I try to search for threads on this forum but often come up empty handed even though later I discover ones exist.

I am NOT a digital artist, so I 100% feel your pain. This is the app I used which made life a little bit more simple to get things done when I am not accustomed to layering which I really need to work on because I would love to practice the digital skills that I do not have ha ha ha!!!

I used this app and imported one of the eggs from the op and then basically just did pixels which made it a little bit easier for a newbie such as myself.
