Have them learn the skills necessary to track down their parents, like in the movie Shazam. They will eventually cross everyone off their list and not be able to find their parents. At this point it’s crucial that you let them stay at your place until they can find their parents. Eventually they stumble upon a weird place and somehow end up with superpowers. They end up saving you from an evil villain, and it turns out that you were the lost one and they and some other random lost kids were the friends you made along the way. Then you wake up, and you realize that it was all just a dream.
