Rules on my First Days of Playing ACNH
- [ ] Do not reset to obtain desired island/villagers
- [ ] Do not time travel
- [ ] Do not receive hacked tools/items
- [ ] Keep expenses to minimum in order to save money for turnips on Sunday
- [ ] Minimize watching AC videos on YouTube, esp time travellers (to avoid spoilers)

I'm not really in the turnips market, so that rule doesn't apply to me.
I'm still unsure about the first one, probably if I get two pink/purple/very ugly villagers I'll reset.

I'm 100% in with all the others, I think that time travels and hacks totally ruin the Animal Crossing experience.

- No time travel (except a few hours back to buy turnips since I work every Sunday morning.)
- Get items myself instead of buying them on here like I did with New Leaf.
- Don't watch videos on it if I haven't gotten to that point yet.
- Don't micro manage my villagers again by only getting the villagers I want.

My only rule is to keep buying everything in store to unlock things as quickly as possible.

My only rule really is no time traveling!! I'm also gonna try to rotate villagers out for a bit rather than get all my dreamies by using the amiibo cards. It'll give me a chance to have more variety!

as cheesy as it is my only rule is to just have fun and to not forget that this is just a game

with new leaf i made the mistake of obsessing too much over resetting for house placement, at some point i spent something like 20 hours trying to get a genji to move into the perfect spot. this wont happen with NH since i can choose where villager houses go, but i'm still trying to hope to avoid other sorts of obsessive behaviors that might make the game feel like a chore.

I'm mostly just going to enjoy the game day by day, that's my only true rule. But I do have a few smaller rules I want to follow:

1. No time travelling, period.**
2. On release, maximum of one hour to hour and a half of resetting for desired island map (and at least one starting villager to an extent)
3. No trading to/with other players for at least until the end of April.
4. Find Skye and Wolfgang for my island at all costs. I can't live without them. <_<

**Will time travel for missed events/holidays due to personal life or illness

At least they added features to mitigate all these issues. o/

I was obsessing too much about completing the catalog, it felt like a chore and not fun at all :s also I never completed it lol

If time travelling is actually a thing in this game, I won't really be doing it, unless I play mega late or something - other than that, I just really want to have fun and take my time exploring the game and everything <3

Oh! I did think of another rule that I didn't realize was in my brain. Only watch the streamer I like to watch after I have experienced things myself. So, I'm doing the holidays first. I'm playing for a few days myself first. I'll do the season changes first. Then I'll have plenty of time to catch up with her!

My priority is to have the best time possible, and the rules I hold myself to are part of the fun for me.

Personal code of conduct:

? no resetting after the Island is established
? no time-travel forward (back only for extenuating circumstances)
? choosing facial features permanently
? scanning in no more than half of total villager count
? waiting a minimum of two months between scans

I?ll probably come up with more guidelines once I actually have the game, but these are the core principles I?ll be following.

After the game is released Do Not look up any guides or gameplay videos until I have played for at least a month (I want things to come by surprise)
Sell lots of my fruit
Take one picture of each villager that has been in my town regardless if I like them or not.
Try to minimize to amount of photos I save to my Nintendo switch (maybe 5-8 per year)

i guess my main rule is to not rush through the game and have fun. i want to take my time upgrading or unlocking stuff at my own pace, just enjoying the game in general

How would one reset in a game if it autosaves though?
I thought that it would only be possible in New Leaf where you had to save the game manually.

As for me, no resetting and no time-traveling.
If I don't like the villagers I get, I'll hopefully be able to trade them through the forum later on.

By reset, they mean restarting their savefile.

Mostly just no time travel and try to obtain things myself. Also, I want to try to enjoy whatever villagers I get, rather than obsess over favorites.

I will reset in the beginning though until I have the lime green airport and pears. Once I get that though, that's that. :)

I'm not going to reset my town for any particular map, I'll just chose from whatever they give me. I'm also not going to time travel for the first few months until I get into the decorating of my town. I'm also going to try my hand at the turnip market this time as that is something I never did in new leaf. I wanna get that schmoney ;o
