It is time to reveal our Weekly Staff Picks for week two!

It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through the event!

Within the team, three staff members were assigned the task of nominating a journal that they are personally enjoying following. There was no criteria outlined in the selection process beyond this. The nominations for this week were put forward by @Kaiaa, @LaBelleFleur, and @Mick.

Our winners are listed in alphabetical order. They will receive 150 TBT Bells for their efforts and their island representatives will appear in our site banner fairly soon! If your name appears below you will receive a private message from Jeremy enquiring about an image of your representative.

Why we selected The Mystery of Pokki Island!
Having followed most journals since the event started, being asked to pick only one was really difficult. Eventually I just settled on the one that left me most excited when I saw it updated - jadetine's journal: Being a nicely written short detective story, set up with charming characters and full of jokes that made me smile, detective Gumshoe's case file has been a pleasure to read through and I'm genuinely looking forward to finding out how this mystery could ever be solved!

Why we selected 🏝️ New Year, New Horizons: A Bilby Isle Island Tour 🏝️
My nomination for this week is S.J.'s 🏝️ New Year, New Horizons: A Bilby Isle Island Tour 🏝️! Their scrapbook-esque photo design paired with cheerful & entertaining writing is incredibly charming, and every new entry brings a smile to my face. Their island tour is engaging and fun, and I especially enjoyed the throwback entry - you can't help but feel the love they clearly have for their island. I'm looking forward to learning more about Bilby Isle!

Why we selected 🏝️ The Real Villagers of Mistfall Island 🏝️
I have enjoyed Venns journal this week! There is nothing quite like reality journalism and airing islanders habits and secrets to keep you entertained. Who is the mysterious investigative journalist? Are the islanders really as sweet as they seem or are they hiding something, only to be revealed by our mystery writer in the future? I can’t wait to see what villager we read about next in The Real Villagers of Mistfall Island!

Congratulations to all of this weeks winners! As a reminder to everyone, if you haven't started your journal yet the deadline to do so is Friday the 3rd of February 2023.

I hadn't logged in to TBT all day because life has been a little busy, but I wish I'd logged on sooner to see this because I'm so grateful!

Thank you so much for the pick @LaBelleFleur !🌸🌺 And congrats @jadetine and @Venn ! ❤️ Thank you as well to everyone who has read my island journal. I am truly enjoying reading everyone's journals, and I am determined to follow as many as I can!

My island is decorated a little simplistically and without many custom designs (and then, only my own simple creations) compared to many other incredible islands, but I really do love it the way that it is. I have a very soft spot for Bilby Isle and it's residents because it's been slowly made with a lot of love. My aim has always been to make a cosy island home that I think some sweet little animals would enjoy! 😊❤️

Look forward to reading some more journal entries and seeing the staff picks next week! 🌟

I am so honored to be included in the nomination list, mostly because my entries were a sort of literal fever dream resulting from writing while suffering through COVID and sleep deprivation from trying to nurse the rest of my family back to health. I remember huddling in a large blanket, giggling about butts while blowing my nose into a mountain of tissues. Once I started recovering, I found it harder to be funny, and was scared that illness (or cough syrup) was my muse. I hope the humor doesn't seem too forced now.

This is my first time writing a mystery (I was inspired by that last writing event that introduced the Hero's Journey story structure) and just grabbed a children's mystery outline and started plugging away. There's so much I would like to edit, but these entries are set in stone now. I hope everyone is having fun!

I have three assignments due this week so I’m afraid I won’t be able to update my journal until the weekend ;u; every post takes many hours to create… I hope I can complete the entries at all X_X

Here's my journal! I'm just getting started, and I can't use pictures because I don't have an SD card, so... my first entry (written from my character's POV) is about the application process at the beginning of the game. I hope I can get to 10 entries soon!

Hi! Unfortunately, the rules for this event call for at least one screenshot for each of the 10 journal entries. You are more than welcome to post text-only entries to a journal, but this will mean that you do not qualify for any of the rewards after the event ends.

If you do not have an SD card you could try to post the screenshots from your switch to twitter or facebook as explained in this nintendo support article and download them from there; I personally have a throwaway twitter account just for this purpose. If all else fails, we could consider carefully taken photos of the screen as an alternative, but again, text on its own will not be enough!

OK, I'll try to get an SD card for the contest. I don't have facebook or twitter because my parents parental locked my phone (and I am considering factory resetting to get rid of that).

I thought I'd offer two other methods to transfer screenshots in case you weren't aware!

You can plug your Switch into your PC using a USB cable, and transfer the screenshots that way. The other way, which is what I usually do, is transfer screenshots to my phone/iPad by capturing the QR code on the Switch as detailed here and saving them to the device. If you want to transfer them to your computer from your phone, you can always upload them to Imgur or another image hosting website. I added links to Nintendo support articles that detail how to do each. Good luck transferring your screenshots! 😊

Ah right, this was added later! I forgot this was an option, good point. 👍

If all else fails, there's no need to buy anything just for this contest. Like mentioned briefly, we can accept photos of your switch screen taken by your phone, as long as you put in the effort to make sure the screen contents are clearly visible!

I am ready for starfalls reemergence!

I hope it's okay that a villager is the star of my lil blog. Also hope it's okay that there's another detective type story 😅
My island rep will come into it tomorrow and will have a big part in the overall story.

Reminder that tomorrow (Friday February 3rd 2023) is the latest date you can start your blog and still meet the requirements for this event. If you start tomorrow, you would need to update your blog every day for ten days straight in order to be eligible for the Lost Book collectible!

If there is a problem with our entries will we be able to resubmit or know before the time is up? I am trying to get everything done correctly but I am just a little concerned
